Not sure if this is the end of 7 weeks or 8 weeks...I feel like I have been doing this for a long time now Its definitely ingrained as a habit I did not lose anything this week but that's ok because I have 2 pounds to go to get to my goal and TOM is in the house...that's probably why. I am so loving JUDDD...and all my clothes fit again

MD today...have a great day everyone

Kim

WOE: Whatever plan keeps me around 150 lbs!
MD is a mid day or medium day. It's 60% on the calculator and is used to switch rotations if needed, or for the people who want to have their DDs on a fixed schedule. They'd do 3 UDs, 3 DDs, and 1 MD per week. Some do fine with that, and others notice a slow-down or stall with using regular MDs. I prefer EOD rotations, but it's nice to have an option to change your rotation if something important is coming up on a DD and you want it to be an UD instead.

Thanks, Dawn!

I am on my first DD today. Just water all morning, then the rest of my day will look like this:

So far, so good with the hunger. Yeah, I'm hungry, but so what? I have fasted in the past for spiritual reasons, so I know it is not the end of the world.

I am at my sister's until Tuesday morning, and no one even noticed that I did not eat this morning. At dinner time, I'm just going to say I'm not hungry. I am not telling people what I am doing.

There is no average weight loss rate. Everyone is different!

! I can only speak for myself, but I lost no less than 5 pounds per month, but usually closer to 8-11pounds per month. It depends how close you are to a healthy weight and how closely you stick to your numbers, but it is a very livable plan.

I was very over weight when I started so I think it was slightly easier to lose then, but I lost very well right up to goal and now beyond. It's an awesome plan so I hope you love as much as I do.

I am a very slow loser. I can go months without losing anything even though I eat on plan, but I am close to my goal. If I lose a pound a week, I am happy, although I often don't lose anything at all in a week.

Good luck

I read that for the first two weeks you should drink shakes and use bars is that a must? Is it ok just to start with regular food?

Deborah, it's absolutely fine to have regular food on your DDs, even in the first two weeks. I think Dr. Johnson thought the shakes/bars would be easier to count, but most of us just counted our calories in regular food and that works great.

You absolutely can start off with solid foods. I know for myself that I started with shakes during my induction phase because I knew the exact calorie count and I had yet to purchase a food scale. Choose whatever is best for you and best of luck to you.

I finished my first down day. I planned on eating 360 calories, but ended up eating 419. I guess that's not too bad for my first time.

Yes, I was hungry all day, and was not satisfied with my one small meal, but I feel like it was manageable. It was not fun, but it was doable.

I am away from home, and it was a little tough to sit there eating nothing when everyone else was eating stir fry. But I did it.

Tomorrow, I plan on eating like this:

1584 calories
132g fat
90g protein
9g carbs

Deborah! I never did the shakes at all. I just knew they wouldn't satisfy me, so I ate lots of veggies and zero fat yogurt on DDs in the beginning. Now I tend more towards fat/protein on DDs as it keeps me very satisfied. Just do what feels right and experiment!

Highlander! I find the same thing. I usually have coffee with cream for breakfast, but often don't even have that until late lunch. Then I have the rest of my calories saved for a small dinner. Works for me like a charm!

TG! Dieting only half the time is a miracle! And losing pretty close to the same rate I did on Atkins too! I'm going on a year and have lost 73 pounds, so not quite 1.5 pounds per week average, but I had a couple of stalls in there. Some months I've lost as much as 9 pounds (last month!).

I'm back...

I'm re-newbie. I did JUDD at beginning of this year and lost about 13-lbs. I gained it all back.. so I'm back and will work to stay on this WOE until I'm at my real personal goal. I think I know this works and that it fits my lifestyle better. I like having every other day off my Eating Plan (not diet).

Nice to meet you, pmartin!

I have now done two down days and one up day. In the past three days, I have:

Lost 2.8 pounds on the scale (2 pounds of body fat and 0.8 pounds of lean mass)

Lost 1/2" around my bust
Lost 1/2" around my waist
Lost 5/8" around my belly
Lost 1/4" around my hips
Lost 1/8" around my calf
Lost 0.7 percentage points from my body fat (35.4% to 34.7%)

Today is an up day, and I have made up my meal plan for the day, and it looks like this:

1584 calories
134g fat (76.2%)
91.9g protein (23.2%)
2.6g carbs (0.6%)
