Morning! Hoping to get to the river running class this morning. I really need it. I feel like a slug. Not sure if the weather will cooperate. I may have to wear a t-shirt over my suit to stay warm.

Yesterday was a DD and I did fairly well. Still struggling with stuff...like my blood sugar levels which responded to the debacle on Saturday and have not come back down yet. The cardio class should help.

My granddaughter is coming to stay a few days. She is four and what I consider "high maintenance". She likes to cook, and I have to make muffins for a seminar at church Saturday morning, so I will have her help. I am also trying to finish loading the kiln and getting it fired so I can glaze next week.

I think I need a vacation!

CARLY: I am sorry you were not able to give that testimony and be done w

My scales have a mode that I just found. I was tinkering with the button on the back, and I can't figure out what it is. It's a number with a colon, then another number + the lb sign. It said 12:9 1/2 lb. What the heck is that?

Yes, that would be stones. 12 x 14 + 9.5 = your weight.

So much happened while I was gone, wow, car crashes, new jobs, freshly painted homes.

Dawn hope that you are all feeling much better, and that you get the vehicle you want.

Glad the new job is yours Christine..

I loved my time in Germany enjoyed the company of great friends saw some amazing sights old and new. Had some extremely difficult and moving moments which will always stay with me. Both Berlin and Dresden are amazing cities.

The food was excellent and the wine and beer flowed. Ended the trip by meeting the newest member of our family who is just two weeks old, so precious.

So I pay the price with a six pound gain. Thanks to my Jawbone UP pedometer I was encouraged to walk even further than I might otherwise have, and I averaged 6 to 8 miles a day.

On our second day there I tripped over a small paving stone and positively flew into the air, landing with my entire weight on my left hip. It took the whole impact, no other point of contact. The bruising has to be seen to be believed. My entire thigh, from butt to below my knee at the back and groin to just above my knee at the front are black, purple, blue and yellow. And sore!

I took painkillers and Arnica, internally and externally, and think I am a very lucky woman. My bones must be in good shape for a woman of my age, everyone expected me to have broken my hip.

But it didn't spoil the holiday, I went straight on and climbed to the top of the cathedral, and taking painkillers with alcohol is my new tip...

I really enjoyed a DD yesterday and was down over 2 lbs today.

Ouch Kissa. Hope the bruising is healing. I'm glad you didn't let that spoil your trip. It sounds like you had a great time. Welcome back!

1.5 more days then 10 days of vacation. I am definitely looking forward to. Work has been so miserable and each day I contemplate how I will possibly make it through another one.

I am worried about sticking to my rotations, but I found a gym so I can get in a workout every day.

I'm so glad you didn't break anything, Kissa!! Yes, I agree that your bones are in very good shape! I'm also glad that you were able to continue to enjoy your holiday (although I know it dampened things a bit!). Take care and get some rest now.

Lisa, where are you going for your vacation? 10 days off sounds like heaven. I'll be taking off the first week of September, but have no plans to go anywhere special. Sigh...

I'm going to MD to meet my best friends one month old daughter Madison and then heading to NC to stay with my parents and quite possibly buy a new car. I'm going on a cruise in December so this vacay is just a little mental health break.

KISSA: I am a strong believer in Arnica! Wonderful stuff! So glad you did not break anything...and were able to enjoy your holiday!

I did get to the river running class...they made us get out of the pool about half way through when they saw lightening. We finished up inside in the deep pool. It was ok. Today is clear and the temps are finally getting to a more normal range for this time of year. My four year old granddaughter is here for a few days, so we will probably jump in the pool at sometime today. She is a chatterbox and has to talk about everything constantly...I am reeling after just half a day...my poor brain is having a hard time processing.

I have the kiln all loaded and ready to fire. The stuff is still damp, and so I am having to preheat and give it time to dry out. I am feeling the crunch....I have to have all the stuff done and ready to go by the end of next week. Its going to be busy...

Oh Cindy! That bruise sounds horrible! I'm so glad you were still able to enjoy your trip but you must have felt tender the whole time!

Lisa, I'm so sorry work is so stressful. That is one of the worst feelings. I'm glad you'll get a break very soon!

Ellen, your adorable granddaughter would exhaust me too! I like quiet and time to think, and people (young and old) who chatter away and won't leave a moment empty of their own voice just wear me out! How can someone have that much to say about anything??? I want to know more about what you are making. Do you do ceramics and sell them?

Cindy, a staycation can be so rejuvenating - just be sure to plan something special to do for yourself while you're off.

You guys are funny! I have some Flexeril (muscle relaxant) and it knocks me for a loop. I can only imagine what a Vodka gimlet/Flexeril cocktail would do to me. I believe it might involve lying on the floor unconscious! I'd rather have 2 gimlets and be *happy*.

Cindy, I am a potter. I make mostly functional ware. My kiln is full of mugs for Dragoncon, the geeky convention held here in Atlanta every Labor Day. My daughter is in the dealer room and is going to put them on her display to sell for me. I work on the potter's wheel mainly, and do handbuilding as well.

No? Really? Hum, I take a ton of pain medication and all the bottles/boxes say don't take with alcohol...

Cindy I am so glad you did not break your hip!

I have not gotten called/ subpoenaed back to court so here is hoping I won't. I'm super glad it's almost Friday. I didn't leave work till 7pm tonight or last and have been in each morning by 8:30am. I have been sleeping pretty well which is a G_d send.

On another note, I'm pretty sure I'm going to cut WLM a little early and go back to 5:2. My body is kind of giving me signs that losing more right now may not be what it wants to do. I've stuck religiously to rotations, but TOM didn't come this month and that happened last time in WLM toward the end and when I started 5:2 my cycle regulated. I can't mess up my cycle as I'm hoping to get pregnant soon. I know there was some debate about ADF during reproductive years and whether it interfered. Clearly being obese was worse, but since this is trivial, vanity weight I shouldn't mess around probably. I'm feeling mixed though. I would have liked to see 118lb, which is a very healthy weight for my height and overall I feel great, but being regular (cycle wise) is pretty important right now so... I don't know...

I've been exercising more, but nothing crazy- power walking, elliptical or stationary bike. I'm at a huge calorie deficit as per my fitbit so I'd think the weight would be flying off, but it isn't because I'm way overdue for TOM. I should probably decide to just keep doing what I've been doing and re-evaluate mid- September... What say the JUDDD Buds?

Dragon mugs sound cool. My last extravagant purchase at a con was a corset. I made sure to buy one that would still fit after I lost another twenty pounds...I hope!

Carly, I think you are wise to keep those extra vanity/fertility pounds for now. Plenty of time to drop them after you have your baby/babies.

Feeling very fatigued over some emotional matters. I have been called on to be my best self for the last week, and it is getting exhausting. I need a break of selfish leisure.

We're leaving on a 7-day cruise from San Juan, PR. Cruise is going to Barbados, Antigua, St. Croix and two other ports that I can't recall. When we get back we're going to spend the rest of the week in PR.

Cindy - ouch, that sounds like some fall! But how fortunate/strong are you not to have broken anything? Sorry about the bruises and soreness though.

Carly, I think the lack of TOM suggests that EOD is not a friend to fertility right now, especially as you're already so tiny. I agree with Sirtain, you can always go for extra tiny later when fertility is not an issue.

So busy with my new job ... my brain hurts from all I am learning, and the newness of everything is tiring me out by the end of the day, but I'm enjoying it so far. Not much time to get on here this week though ... hope to catch up this weekend.

I've been at my job in one form or another for over 5 years, but oh, do I remember that new job feeling. There is always a learning curve, but usually within 6 mos you've settled in and been "through" most of the new stuff.

Today is an UD and we are having a BBQ at work so plenty of food should be on the game plan. I'm going to stick with EOD till Labor Day I think and then back to 5:2, but I may switch back sooner.

Carly, you are teenie tiny! I definitely think your bod is telling you to eat a bit more & maintain now so it can focus on fertility issues. What an exciting time for you and DW!

That sounds like a plan Carly. You need to regulate your cycle for a few months if you hope to have a baby.

Ellen, I always wanted to learn to 'throw' pots. it would be great to see some of your finished work.

It wounds as if you are going to have wonder vacation Lili, relax and enjoy.

I made it back to the gym this morning, none the worse for wear after the fall. Couldn't do the floor work on that side but adapted it by working on all fours... Where there's a will there's a way.

My DD will become an MD today. My niece is coming to spend the night and she is on a special restrictive diet so I will eat what suits her. Shouldn't be too bad and it will also be a Fast 5 day.

The scale dropped a little even after my UD yesterday so I know those holiday pounds a leaving.
