Thanks Carol and Barbo! I'm having #3 of 4 in reconstruction surgery. Having the second set of expanders replaced with what I hope is the real set of jello jigglers. He also has to clean up a bunch of extra skin and scar tissue. The one after this will have the nips set. Oy veh!

I'm sure there's some uncertainty with all that. A friend of mine was going to have reconstruction, but it didn't work out for her, and she has accepted it so well. I'm in awe of her. I'm not sure I could be so philosophical about it.

I just hope your recovery from surgery is as easy as possible. You've been through so many surgeries and procedures!

Thanks Ladies! XOXO.

Carol, you know, the real thing is all about the concept of "you can never put the escaped horse back in the barn and have it be just like it was before its escape. Right?

It's kinda like, had I know now what I didn't know then, I would have chosen to go Flat Stanley from the get go. Cuz the latissimus dorsi flap procedure (where they remove 2 muscles from under your shoulder blades and place them on your chest) has created such weakness and ongoing pain, cramping in my back that I would have NEVER done it. I didn't even realize the incisions were gonna be as low as they are! But now, I'm so far down the path, I can't just decide to say, "Put it all back like it was." Cuz it's impossible. So the only way forward is forward. You know? It really kinda sucks. Cuz I never wanted silicone inside me. Now I don't have any choice. But I will make the best of it and pray that they don't fail and that they don't contribute to my inflammation and existing auto-immune stuff.

Big decisions so far bigger than sheer aesthetics.

oh, Pooticus ... you've been through a lot, but I hope you love the ultimate results.

So, I got offered the job and I took it! I'm relieved, excited, sad (to be leaving the staff and students I loved so much at my other school), and scared all at the same time. And it's a good thing it's a down day, because I couldn't eat a thing. Thanks as always for the support, JBs!

Congrats, CaliChris! Pooticus, adding you to my prayers....

Down day today...not sure how I did, but blood sugar was good, and had a low tonight after potluck at church. I ate mostly veggies...so I guess I did ok.

Scale was down a little this morning, which was very encouraging too.

Living room is almost all done..just the high point of the vault which my husband who is not afraid of heights will have to do. Starting on the kitchen now... What I love about my friend who is helping is that once she finishes a wall and it is dry, she puts everything back together. She has rehung all my pictures, but thoughtfully...so it 'goes'. I always just found a big enough spot and stuck stuff up on the wall. Makes a HUGE difference. I am really enjoying how she is putting stuff up. Its a little embarrassing...as an artist, I have NO decorator sense at all! Not sure why...but I don't!

Off to bed!

Congratulations on the new job!!

Pooticus, you will surely be in my prayers.

Picked blueberries yesterday, and made dill pickles today. I'm feeling like Ma Ingalls on "Little House on the Prairie." Good thing pickles and blueberries are both good on DD's.

Yes Pooti, it really is complicated. It's too bad you didn't have all that information before, but like you said, on forward.

Christina, congratulations on the new job! I hope it will be everything you hope it is!

Ellen, your house is gonna be so purty!

Blueberries and dill pickles - sounds yummy!

What will you be doing? Are you changing districts, or just schools? If you're going to be teaching in R-ville, I'll send you my friend's name as a contact if you'd like.

Congratulations

CaliChris for the new job. I understand you excitement and your sadness
to leave a comfortable job and old friends/students. Now a new door is
opening and you will find joy and new friends once again.

Pooti dear yu know my prayers will go with you as you have this re-construction.
My friend had it done and she said that her new hooters were prettier than
the ones before. She is quite happy with it and all healed.

Pooticus - good luck with the surgery.

CaliChris - so pleased to read about the new position.

Dawn - commiserations on truck.

Best wishes to everyone else.

We're visiting some friends at the end of next week so lots of preparation before then.

I got an unexpected day off today. Yesterday My Executive Director came over to my desk and thanked me for doing a "spectacular job" with this whole mess the last 2 weeks. She sais "If I give you and 'Chelly' the day off tomorrow would that be appreciate?" I said I definitely wouldn't turn it down!!!!!

Yay!!!! Day off!!!!! The E.D. went over to Chelly and said it's good to know the right people and told Chelly's supervisor that she had the day off today.

Carly: enjoy your day off! Nice to have your boss show appreciation!

Scale was good this morning...down a total of 10.5 pounds now.

STILL working on painting, etc. My daughter is going to stress out when she comes over today. Her big double b-day bash is here tomorrow and there is a LOT left to do. I am going to go get brave and climb the ladder and sand the last spackle patch then paint over it. Otherwise, it would have to wait until my hubby got home and he has enough other stuff to do. Then I can get my son in law to help me move the heavy bookcase back. The whole project took two days longer then we first thought. Argh! I don't wanna complain, cause it looks amazing!

I think my success on the scale has to do with my eating more like 800 on down days, and adding protein and healthy fats. Thoughts?
