Very sore this morning, but all things considered, it could've been worse.

Here are a couple of pictures.
They don't really show how twisted the frame is on our truck. The white car is the one that hit us. She went under our bumper.

WOW Dawn!! That looks scary. I'm so glad no one was hurt.

My sister and her husband were in an accident a couple of weeks ago in CA on the freeway. You may have heard about it. A car ahead of them missed it's exit and slammed on brakes, and they were unable to get control of their camper they were pulling. It jack-knifed and flipped over, along with their truck, blocking all lanes of the highway. Thankfully, no one was injured in that accident either.

Holy moly Dawn! I'm glad you are all OK.

When DW and I were in the accident in April we felt pretty "jacked up" for about a week.

Dawn, take care of yourself and your family!! I have unfortunately been in a few accidents like this, and sometimes the worst injury is not even evident until a few days later when the adrenaline dies down. Make sure you get even your minor pains checked out and followed up on, or insurance may not cover you. Sad to say, I speak from experience. I call my car accidents "The Gift That Keeps On Taking."

Christina, good luck on the interview! You can't beat blue, it always gives people good vibes.

Our grandson was in a car accident in Colorado last weekend.
His liver was bruised, cuts and that was it. He is recovering nicely.
After looking at the damage to both vehicles, it was truly a miracle
that you are just sore. Take care and heal.

Thanks everyone. DH went to the tow yard yesterday and took a few more pictures, got our stuff out the truck, etc. Those pictures show just how messed up the frame is on the truck. It really is amazing that we all walked away. No word yet from the insurance, and since there were so many cars involved, it may be a while for the final outcome, but our insurance is starting the process to determine if there will be repairs or if it'll be totalled. DH sure loves that truck, but I'm fine with it if they total it. I don't see how, if they repair it, that it'll ever be the same. It kept us safe, but I fear if it's repaired and we get in another accident like that one, we won't be so lucky!

Hello! Been MIA for a few days. We went to visit the MIL for the weekend. I did ok, tho the DDs were hard! I have been consciously upping fats and protein on both DD and UD trying to eat more LC. Seems to be helping. I feel better and the scale has finally moved a bit. I can't complain tho...the blood sugar is doing marvelously well!

I am stripping wallpaper in my kitchen and preparing to paint. We are also painting the living room/great room. My daughter is having a party here Saturday for my grandson's 7th birthday and his little sister's first birthday...so there is a time crunch to get it all done. Its going well...but the chaos is driving me crazy. Not that I am used to order and organization...this is just over the top!

Been so busy I have hardly sat down to spend any time online.

Dawn, so glad no one was hurt. Accidents scare me...was in a bad one when I was in 4th grade, and my daughter's best friend was killed in one when she was in high school.

Off to scrub walls.

Dawn - I think they will total it. My car was totalled a couple years ago when I was lightly rear ended at a red light! I guess it was just enough to bend the frame, but you never would have thought. It's such a nice truck, and I'm glad you all were in something so big and solid. Were the people/person in the white car ok?

Ellen - so glad to hear your blood sugar is doing so well!

Starrhae - it's lovely that you're feeling so great and enjoying your grandkids and have a husband who cooks! Lots to be thankful for there.

It was one person in the white car, and she was fine. Her foot was hurt, but not badly enough to go to the hospital. I don't think we would have done as well if we'd been in my car (I drive a 2004 Santa Fe, so still decent sized, but not a TANK like the Titan).

Ellen, I agree, great job with the blood sugar.

Star, my DH does most of the cooking in our house. I'm more than happy to let him.

They went well ... thanks Dawn for asking! I already know that I was seriously considered for one, but they went with someone who had taught the exact same position (but the principal said she recommended me to the district superintendent). I heard the other job is calling my references, so maybe I have a shot there ... I'm deciding, though, if that spot is the right fit if I get an offer. I swear, interviewing is worse than dating!

Do any of the buds with a DH who cooks want to lend him out?

Dawn, Geico initially said they were going to total our car after the accident, but we fought it and it's good as gold today.

My friend was in an accident a few days ago and Geico was going to total her car too, but she said she was going to fight it when I told her that we saved Goldie.

The work issue blew up in the media big time today so it felt like damage control all day and probably more to come. Our DA is prosecuting the clinician and he is facing 4 yrs in prison if convicted and if no one else comes forward. I hope there aren't other victims, but... It's highly likely I suppose. He is 42 yrs old and I don't think he just thought to do this out of the blue.

Dawn, my lordie I just saw the pics. Glad everyone walked away from that. When I was in my accident in March I was hit by a Dodge Ram which is bigger than your car. I havea civic, but Geico didn't total it. Everyone was surprised, but Carla is good as new and quite possibly being traded at the end of the month. Fingers crossed that things go smoothly and quickly.

Christina, I'm thinking positive thoughts. Something will pan out.

Carly, I think you have all done a great job with the damage control. This entire ordeal is so surreal and I can't even imagine what you've been going through the last few weeks. Get some rest!

I was rear ended and pushed into the car in front of me a few years ago. They didn't total my Dodge Dakota pickup. There was a mush in the back, and just slight grill damage but inside the radiator was bent and misshapen. The frame was bowed too. Fixed it all, thank goodness! I love my truck!

Christina, I'm hoping you'll get that position if you want it! There's something great out there for you that's a good fit.

Carly, I'm so sorry this is happening, and that you're in the eye of the storm. I agree with Lisa - get some rest and take care of you!

Ellen, you have so many projects going! I'll bet your house will be beautiful when you're all done.

Starrhae, I hope you had a great time with the grands!

Christina, good luck on finding the right position!I know it's getting down to the wire now.

Dawn, I hope everything gets settled quickly and in the best wasy possible with the truck.

Carly, I've been thinking of you and hoping things get better.

We had a close call yesterday with one of our customers. He bought a very expensive item from us, paid through paypal, and we shipped it. The following day (yesterday) he disputed his payment. I got an email from paypal saying not to ship his item (but it was too late). Thankfully, we were able to provide a tracking number and evidence of his purchase, so the money was put back into our account. Whew! This has only happened once before, and we lost our money and our item.

Hope everyone is having a good day so far!

Chris good luck on the job hunting. I soooo agree it's def worse than dating!!!

Man to all who have had accidents and walked away! Thank you Lord for these blessings!

Dawn it's hard to know what to pray for on the truck--total or not-total! I just don't understand the math well enough.

Carly -- such sadness! Stand tough and breathe! Hope it's over soon!

Cindy how scary!! Glad you had proof and could protect your company!

Hugs to one and all!!

Busy day here. Will be so glad when the heat breaks (which should be October lol). Next week starts 3 weeks of doc appointments/tests to make sure I'm surgery-worthy. Next surgery looms in September on the 20th if all goes well. Am starting PT this week too.) Food is good here. I lose slower than a snail, but hey, at least it's not gaining at lightening speed--plus I know each day I am healing my body inside. So I'm happy!

What is this next surgery, Pooti (if you don't mind me asking)? You've been through so much and have such a wonderful attitude! You are an inspiration. And yes, you are healing your body inside! What a wonderful thing!
