What Are Your Essential Items/Supplements
 
Hi everyone, tomorrow I leave on vacation to go home to Scotland/Ireland for a couple of weeks and I am so excited at the prospect of being able to pick up some of the items you guys talk about on here as essential items for DD's and nutrition. Egypt unfortunately has absolutely no health food or nutrition shops and even multivits are massively expensive, so I am bringing an empty suitcase with me to stock up on hard to find items.

Please help me with my shopping list, so far MCT Oil and Glucomannan are on there but please let me have your go to's as I won;t get another chance until Christmas.

All I take is a good multivitamin and Calcium/D3 combo.

All I take is D3, but I'm considering finding a good multi made from whole foods.

I take 1000mg vitamin C a day to block cortisol and a daily probiotic for overall health. One of the two (or the combo?) also has cleared up my skin. A nice side effect!

1) High concentrate DHA/EPA Omega 3s

Me either! I think I read it online as being something Jillian Michaels said. Then I googled the crap out of it and started several months ago. I don't know if it's doing anything, but it's cheap and I haven't had a cold so, why not?

Ordered and should be arriving at mums house today, I began reading the thread on pterostibene and realised it was 23 pages long!

Thanks for all the great suggestions here, I have ordered a B complex slow release with vit C, I can't justify D3 just yet in my mind as I get at least 2 hours of sun every morning!

In addition to the items you'd chosen, I could only come up with bulky items that aren't suitable for taking back (such as sugar-free syrups or the Shirataki noodles). Still trying to think of something relatively light and transportable...

Yes it is an issue so thanks for bearing that in mind, I have been trying to get 2 weeks worth of clothes into my carry on and keep my 23kg's for goodies, but it's not happening for me:(

Hi Emma,

Just take clothes that you don't mind leaving or getting rid of when you head back to Egypt. :)

In addition to what has been mentioned, I take tumeric daily, along with alpha lipoic acid and selenium.

Although I live in the sun belt and take 10,000 units of Vit D daily, my level is still not quite as high as my doctor would like for it to be-- although it's much better than it was when I only took what was in my multivitamin. If you have any hormonal issues to deal with, it's a good thing to request a test on to see what your level is.

I suppose theres no harm in chucking in the vitamin D now is there?

We have just stuffed pillows into our suitcases to fill them up as they were so empty!

Vitamin D3 - don't leave home without it. Lysine also good for cold sores (which can happen as your immune system runs down on a trip.

For me, Magnesium, potassium B complex , Fish oil, Evening primrose , .. I never seam to get any legs cramps any more since i started the supplementing of both Magnesium and Potassium ..plus a great multi vitamin.. :heart:

Lanark, maybe you could check with the airline you are returning with about sending a box via their Cargo operation -- a separate department, but many have some portion of the plane allocated for just cargo. Just a thought...
