One Year of Maintenance

Hi there! I've missed you all! It's actually a few weeks beyond my one year anniversary of maintaining since I reached goal July 2 last year, and I kept meaning to come update here but life is crazy right now! I tell you, maintenance was a rollercoaster this past year, partly due to job loss, health issues, a really rough breakup and an injury, but through it all, the only thing that never failed me was JUDDD.

I'm maintaining easily at 108-112, and after an entire year, I believe this is just where my body wants to maintain. The extra pudge around my waist just isn't meant to be whittled down, and a lot of it is just loose skin, but my overall shape has shifted and settled in a better way than when I first reached goal. I did reach goal of 105 and tried to maintain around 104-107, but that required a much more strict calorie level and rotation than I wanted for maintenance and for life.

I don't count calories anymore because I'm really good at estimating now, but I still do my rotations. Some weeks I have two UDs on weekends. The two hormonal times of the month, my weight will jump up to the high end, and then it'll come back down, like clockwork. I had several periods where my weight jumped out of the safe range, but at my vertically challenged height of 5'1, I literally couldn't let it get more than a few pounds beyond that because my clothes wouldn't fit then and I couldn't afford to buy new clothes. I'm one of those that kept getting rid of all larger old clothes during my weight loss journey because in the past, having them somehow always enabled weight re-gain and denial. Luckily with JUDDD, strict rotations and WLM calories always worked to bring me back in range.

I'm still so thankful that I discovered JUDDD and this wonderfully supportive forum , because this is the only and best way to lose weight and maintain that I have ever come across. I hope you all are doing well here, and I apologize for not being around to give support. I finally found a job and am actually considering dating again. Things are busy, but in a good way finally!
* wheat/gluten-free
* whole foods and low carb

I'm utterly delighted to read such a positive report from yet another successful maintainer alongside Kissa/Cindy, Carly, Dawn, Leo41, The Redhead etc.

Thank you so much for this.

Congratulations on the job and good luck with the 'shall I, shan't I' thoughts about dating.
