DD Friday: menu and plans

DH and I have the day off today so I'm in frivolous mood. We're having our body fat assessments first thing and then it's just a lovely day with a night out at London Zoo.

B: coffee with MCT oil and lecithin: 160kcals

L: planning sashimi: 200kcals

D: soup with MCT: 260kcals

Running total 620kcals but I shall have additional MCT with me and shall take up to another 2 Tbsp if I need it for migraine management (extra 250kcals).

Have a delightful day, wherever you are.

FairyWren 07-19-2013 12:13 AM

Enjoy your day off Slow and hope all goes well with your body fat assessment!

D: Hard boiled eggs and cheese, 500 kcals
S: Apple juice

I'm heading north to the Isle of Lewis for the weekend, so won't be on again until Sunday evening. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Silverrain 07-19-2013 04:31 AM

Enjoy your day off, SlowSure!! Good luck with your assessment today. At least you can get that out of the way and then have fun the rest of the day. :)

B: Coffee, 1 tbsp half and half.
L: Nothing except water.
D: I am attending a going-away party for one of my BF's co-workers tonight. There will be drinks, so I will have a light beer or two. I know this restaurant has a veggie tray appetizer, so I will likely snack on that a bit. Trying not to stress about calories today.

I hope everyone enjoys this lovely Friday, and that you all have a fantastic weekend!! :)

Hi friends! I'm hoping I can get to a point where I just have a healthy dinner on DDs, but for now, I'm all about keeping the hungries away! So, here's my plan for the day:

Breakfast - 4 egg whites, iced coffee w/ almond milk, green tea - 75
Snacks - 100g celery, Sf jello - 34
Lunch - Salmon pouch, 150g spaghetti squash, diet soda, 2 pickle spears, green tea - 111

Dinner - 4 egg whites, 84g brussel sprouts, 148g red potatoes – 205
Snacks – iced coffee w/ almond milk, 9 frozen grapes – 40

So not hungry today. At least right now.

The plan is lots of tea!

cici52 07-19-2013 06:39 AM

Haven't done this in a while, so here is the plan.

B - coffee HWC 50
L - BB, egg, chard 200
D - chicken breast, apple 220

Demonica 07-19-2013 07:41 AM

Sticking as close to a total fast today as possible. It's almost 100 degrees and I have to work today so shouldn't be too hard.

Jenmay78 07-19-2013 10:24 AM

Going to see if I can do this...First DD...If I don't come back; it's okay ;) Just trying to find what works

Librarygirl 07-19-2013 10:56 AM

Welcome Jennifer!!!

My DD is going to be a little higher...

B-coffee - 70

L-yogurt and peaches - 200

D-undecided

Jenmay78 07-19-2013 11:06 AM

Thanks, Cindy! The idea of 500 cals seems cruel and unusual, but I already practice IF so I think I may be able to do this every other day torture ;) I know it's not really torture, but the idea of eating more than 1200 cals makes me happy :D That is what I have been doing and steadily losing 2 lbs a week.

Kimmietoo 07-19-2013 11:08 AM

Oh, that first day can be tough! You'll make it though. In a couple of months you won't believe how easy they can be!

Jenmay78 07-19-2013 12:23 PM

 Really??

KeirasMom 07-19-2013 12:31 PM

Absolutely! I just posted in another thread that I have problems increasing my DD calories. I found what worked for me and can be perfectly satisfied with 200-400 calories.

sorenkkg 07-19-2013 01:10 PM

Hi gang!

after a full heat wave, today we should see rain showers/thunder. They're getting tornados up north... all this means, migraine for me :(

but I'm a bit less hungry...

B:x
L: about a c of tomato sauce, and a couple ounces pre-cooked ground beef mixed in
a pluot
a flatout flatbread with 1T lite cream cheese
water
pteroblue

I'm feeling snacky now, but my head hurts still... maybe I'll have a carrot or something.

d: big salad with chicken.

:) S.

I promise! I never would have believed it either, in my earliest days. It seems impossible. But your body will become accustomed to not having much food EOD. I have actually grown to enjoy the empty feeling.

I KNOW you think I'm nuts! I was you 11 months ago! Just trust me/us, and trust JUDDD!

Soren, I'm so sorry you're not feeling so good. Are tornadoes common up in your area?

Carly 07-19-2013 01:31 PM

5:30am- coffee w/ SF creamer= 30
4:30pm- coffee w/ SF creamer= 30

Bedtime snack: I think I'll splurge tonight and I'll have a Smart One for 240.

Total= 300

The DDs really, really, do get easy! Not just easier!

piglet513 07-19-2013 01:38 PM

Haven't had anything but water so far, but I'm about to have some tea of some type. I think for dinner I'll have a big salad with some grilled chicken. :D

mommyto3nj 07-19-2013 02:30 PM

Dinner ended up being a pork chop (4 ounces). I have 60 calories left but trying not to use them. Now I have to sit at my daughters softball games. I'm worried ill faint since its 100 degrees out!!!

mommyto3nj 07-19-2013 02:31 PM

And I can't imagine this getting easier. I pray it does because I already dread Monday!!! How many DDs does it take?! I've read by the third one and then by the 6th one lpl

Carly 07-19-2013 02:36 PM

I think it took a few rotations- probably 2 weeks, but I don't really remember. For me it was so totally worth it.

Try to remind yourself "Hunger is not an emergency".
100 degrees is very hot- that is the temp here, but I fare better in the heat the less I eat. I also tend to exercise more vigorously on DDs than on UDs when I may be full and sluggish. Hang in there!

piglet513 07-19-2013 03:17 PM

Hang in there mommy! It does get easier. I've only been doing it a couple weeks and it is way easier than at first. Drink lots of fluids; that helps A LOT!

handbells 07-19-2013 04:47 PM

Today turned into more of a MD, but I'm okay with that!

It varies from person to person, but DD's have never been hard for me. And I continue to do low calorie DD's in maintenance so I can eat more on my UD's. But yes it does get easier for most people. :)
But I always ate eggs for breakfast on DD's and a lot of people skip breakfast. You have to find what works for you.

Jenmay78 07-21-2013 10:35 AM

Thanks for all the support. I actually completed my DD at 440. I think the secret was to wait until the end of the day. :)

sorenkkg 07-23-2013 08:28 AM

Sorry-- have been running around and stressed bc of this reno and preparing for it.

Carol-- no, the tornados tend to be way north of us, but the storms in the summer just seem to hit me worse than those in the winter. I hate taking my prescription stuff, prefer to just use Advil if I can, but sometimes, I have to knock it out with the big stuff ;)
