Totally new!

I was googling "Low carb diet or calorie counting" when I found a thread about JUDDD. In 2009, I lost 30 pounds .... and then gained most of it back. I'm now back (for two years lol) trying to lose it again. I have about 15 pounds to go to get my BMI normal, and then I will see from there.

I'm so nervous about trying this diet. I don't know why. But SOMETHING has to give. I'm a total binge eater. I have success with both low carb and calorie counting for a week or two and then I totally binge and there goes that. I am hoping the thought of "I can eat this tomorrow" helps me through on down days.

Anyway, I'm thinking of down days Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Or am I better off doing every other day?! I work Tuesday and Thursday outside of the home and thinking I'm better off eating then?

I'm a stay at home mom the other days to three kids. I need lots of energy to keep up with them. I'm afraid my down days will totally beat my butt.

HELP!

I'm fairly new here, but I can give my two cents. Go ahead and start with Mon, Wed, Fri if you think that will be easier with your schedule. If you aren't getting the results you want, maybe you can try to go EOD. You will still lose with 3 DD's, maybe just not as fast. Try it out and see. Welcome aboard!

I'm a newbie too, so I can't offer a ton of advice, but hello & welcome! I was worried about DDs too and I'm finding what works for me is lots of volume. I eat as much food as I can for my 500 calories and spread it throughout the whole day. I felt yucky on the first one, but yesterday I got through the day with no problems. Good luck!

and congratulations for finding and be willing to try JUDDD! I think starting out with M-W-F DDs is fine. You may lose a bit slower than EOD, but it sounds like you would do better adjusting to the diet on this schedule. After a month or two, you may find you have MORE energy on DDs (very common) and be so used to the DDs that you could switch over to EOD if you wanted to. You'll just have to try it and see. Good luck!

Love having new people ON THE DARK SIDE! Many people here do a set rotation and have no issues losing. You need to figure out how you will handle weekends? Both UD's? Or 1 UD and maybe 1 mid day? This is the best eating plan out there (IMHO).

My DH started with me, in less than 3 months he lost 40 pounds. I am down 20 pounds and my DS14 follows a loose type JUDDD plan and is down 32 pounds. We are JUDDDing family!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Today is my first DD. I've been up for a little over an hour and can't wait for coffee. Treating myself today to my coffee in the quiet so I'm waiting for 9 when I take the kids to camp. I have a wake to attend this afternoon and then my daughter has two softball games this evening. All in all it shouldn't be TOO bad today, but I'm very worried about being out in the 100 degrees heat with no food in my system!

I see you all do it just fine though so I think its probably just excuse.

I'm thinking I'll do better eating small snacks all day, lots of salad, instead of just one big meal.

I'm so nervous about it all.

The weekend sounds good having one up day and one moderate day. Didn't think about that. Now question about up days, do you guys count your calories on up days too?

I get the impression that most people do, yes. I definitely do, but that's not saying much since I have been a meticulous calorie counter for years (way before JUDDD).

I count them because many times in my recent past if I didn't, I'd easily skyrocket to 4k! But I still get plenty of food on UD's

I think this will be me and I think your right. I need to count. I am a binge eater and honestly if I can keep THAT under control, then this is the plan for me.

My experience is that I lose best with eod rotations, but it's important that you pick a schedule that works for you. After the first couple of weeks I found that I had much more energy on DDs with better focus and mental clarity. The DDs get much easier- really- I love DDs. I maintained for 5 months and re-entered WLM in early July to evict a few more pounds. I'm just loving it, so I hope you will too! !
