It's my JUDDDiversary!

I am almost more excited about this milestone than my weight loss milestones, because it means to me that I have truly found the plan that I can do until I reach goal and into maintenance.

At this point, I've lost 70 pounds, all but the first 11 on JUDDD. I would not have been able to do this without the support, wisdom, and helpfulness of the wonderful BUDDDs on this board. Thank you all so much. I look forward to sharing the rest of my journey and maintenance with you!

I thought I'd share some progress pics, because I have been so inspired in the past by goal and progress pictures.

The picture on the left is not a good one but is the only full length one I could find before I started ... it's from May 2012. The picture on the right is me camping in June 2013.

Here's a photo that kind of represents to me the non-scale victory of the progress of my last year, between losing weight and improving fitness through exercise. I went on my first backpacking trip ever a few weeks ago. I probably would not have attempted this, or would have been miserable if I tried, a year ago. We hiked 7 miles up, spent the night next to a mountain lake, and 7 miles back the next day. I'm not going to lie, the last two miles each way were tough, but it was so beautiful and a great and memorable experience for my family, and I felt strong and grateful along the way. (This is my DS14 who has just passed me up in height!).

(I have more in-between progress pictures in my gallery)

Wow, those pictures really show off your wonderful losses! Can you believe that was really you? You look years younger and so much happier now. I'm so glad you were able to do that hiking trip with your family. Like you said, losing the weight makes so many things possible we never could have tried before.

Congratulations!

I am speechless. Seriously.

Christina, it's astonishing to me that your before picture was just a little over a year ago. You have absolutely transformed your body. It is beyond incredible. WOW! Forget about the scale for a moment because you have your life back. Just letting that sink in is crazy good stuff!!! I am over the moon tickled pink for you!!!! GREAT JOB sweetie!!!!!!!! Now, as for the evil scale thing, you look much thinner to me than the metal dummie suggests. I am sure it's all the crazy insane fitness you are doing! That "onderland" party thing, you are so THERE!!!! Just look at you!!!!!!!

Again, enormous congratulations!!! You are beautiful inside and out gf!!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps8baa7779.gif I can't wait to go through the rest of your journey with you! You rock!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much, amazing JBs.

JUDDD is a great plan, but it I was trying to do it on my own it wouldn't be the same. This board has helped so much in inspiring me to keep going. It will probably take me at least another year to get to goal, but that's ok ... now that I've done it this long, I really think it could actually happen! :weigh: Especially when I have all these amazing examples of how to get to goal and maintain.

p.s. the backpack was heavy ... I don't know how much it weighed, but when I would take it off it felt SO GOOD and it also kind of symbolized for me taking off the weight, only feeling it all at once instead of bit by bit. :)

Deen73 07-11-2013 07:15 PM

Wow -- I am so impressed. You've done such wonderful things for your body and your health. A great example to us all -- just amazing! :)

p.s. -- I'm a hiker, too -- mostly wimpy flat 2-3 milers, though. :P

It not only "could" actually happen, but it WILL happen.

I love the backpack analogy. Beautiful.

I never thought of myself backpacking, but it was great to challenge myself and surprise DH and DS by saying I wanted to go with them! I didn't hold them up too much, I don't think. Now DS wants us to do it again! It was hard to get used to the pack, but on the plus side, backpacking burns approximately 1,000,000 calories. :D
