WOE: JUDDD dd 200 ud 1200
Start Date: Aug 2012
Another JUDDDer here who loves this plan. Been doing it for about a year now.

JUDDD to me, is counter intuitive. I've actually increased my total calorie intake and I'm lighter on the scale than I was in High School (post menopausal)! Crazy stuff. It's kinda like magic to me, really.

I bought the book, my daughter currently has it. Honestly, it was interesting, but didn't convince me like this forum has - so many success stories and no sales pitch behind it either.

I tried Low Carb and it just wasn't for me, after all my years of vegetarian and vegan, just missed greens and beans too much. Yes, low carb did work but I was miserable.

For the first time in my life, I feel that I have this weight control thing down and can continue with it for the rest of my life, no problem. The rotations get to be kinda like the sun rising and setting, becomes an easy pattern. I don't even feel like I'm on a diet, and have been able to go about life without the constant food obsession.

JUDDD seems like a natural way of eating.

I only found JUDDD recently, though I tend to do it similarly to Fast 5. But, I love it because it allows me to eat with my family (HUGE plus), maintain my weight easily, but mostly because my body feels great when I'm fasting. I've struggled with life-long tummy issues (genetic, for sure) and they all but disappear when I'm fasting regularly.

This is the first "diet" that I can actually say is a WOE. I can stick to it and have been since February. I don't gain weight when I'm sick nor do I feel that I'm being deprived because EOD I can eat whatever I like within calorie reasoning.

JUDDD has taught me to deal with my emotional eating and I seem to have so much more clarity on JUDDD. I'm losing weight and feeling comfortable with the woman that I see looking back at me in the mirror.

Having this community to come to daily and discuss any and everything has also been such a great help. My JB's and myself hold me accountable each and everyday. I feel this is why I have been successful with this WOE.

How can you not lose when your calorie intake is so much less. If you don't go overboard on uds it has to work. I find the /dd refreshing. I don't like that feeling of fullness when I over eat, and I do that a lot!! This beats all!!

Because I can follow it (short and long term) and it works!!!!!
I started JUDDD after reading everyone rave about it, I figured what can it hurt to try, seems simple enough. It is simple, it's not deprivation, and I can actually stick with it... and I'm losing weight! yay! I want to learn more about the health benefits, but I do believe it's healthy, and that makes me feel good (although it's still difficult to explain sometimes).

That's why I JUDDD!

I have to say Thanks for all the advice.

I went on vacation, and after 7 weeks and a bit of my husbands intervention (he grew very tired of me not being able to eat at a festival we attended) I fell off of Atkins, out of ketosis.

I smell better, feel better....but man has my stomach bloat returned with a vengenace. I am thinking it is how inflammatory certain carbs can be for me.

Anyway, hubby keeps suggesting "that diet I (meaning, me) found online, so we can still eat together"- he is referencing JUDDD.

Why not? I failed at Atkins after the most sincere try I have ever given anything. Do I need to purchase the JUDDD book?

Thanks, Kelly

Welcome!! I also came here from Atkins, so I totally know what you mean. Just be ready for the fact that you might not lose right away while your body is getting used to having carbs again. :/ I would try the library for the book first if you want to see it. Some have gotten it free off the web for Kindle. I bought it from Amazon for around $6 with shipping used.

I'm new to JUDDD, but I will chime in...
lost 40 pounds on atkins in about 5 months time...never counted calories, but kept my carbs to gross carbs to 20g or less everyday.
I don't think atkins is something that I can do over the long haul, so I decided to switch to JUDDD...hopefully when I get to my goal weight, I can do a 4:3 or maybe even 5:2...

WOE: JUDDD for loss / eating mindfully for maintenance
Start Date: 7/15/13
I'm doing it because my prior WOE (TDEE/tracking cals/eating clean/working out) wasn't giving me results anymore no matter how I tweaked it (eat more, eat less, exercise harder, exercise less, eat certain % of carbs/protein/fat - I tried it all in many combos!). I am amazed to see the scale moving downward again. I am loving my results with JUDDD and crossing my fingers that it lasts!
