I've done the foundation for my goal: Labor Day Challenge! - I've booked the bodyfat Bod Pod assessment. July 19 - whenever I get the results, expect some resentment and mardiness until I pull myself together. (Sad but true.)

I don't know how tall you are but it can't be too bad at 128lb.

Can I play?

I started JUDDD'ing on the 9th of July, so by the time labor day rolls around I'll be 8 weeks in. I'd like to be in onederland at that point. I'm generally a fast loser so I'll see what happens, but for now that's my goal.

Oh I am totally in!

I feel like I am starting brand new with a new fresh look on things so this is a great time to set a challenge. And I'll be in a bathing suit in FL for labor day so there's some more motivation! I leave for vacation on August 27th, so this will be my August 27th Challenge.

I would really like to see 295 and say good-bye to the 3's FOREVER!!!! I also want to see how committed I can be to EOD rotations with football season starting. This is going to be a HUGE challenge for me and I've had to think a lot about how to deal with this come regular season, but, August is preseason and I will be going to two home games and they both hit on a DD. I want to see myself push through and not give in!

I too am trying to get down in the 2's. For me it's about 10lbs to 299 but I want to push to 295 so about 15 for me and I need to hit it about a week earlier. So we have pretty much the same goal. WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll see but although I would still be emotionally upset by it, intellectually, I know it's possible that I'm in the late 30s for bodyfat percentage and well into the 'normal weight obese' category (one of the many reasons that BMI has limited utility for individuals).

Weight is almost as much a proxy for relevant parameters for metabolic derangement as BMI is. As you know, weight alone doesn't necessarily indicate how much LBM (bone, lean body mass aka Fat Free Mass) that someone has relative to their fat mass. It's one of the reasons that Braverman and Shah suggest that people may need counselling from their PCP or HCP about avoiding metabolic disorders at a much lower BMI than previously thought.

However, this is a hobby horse of mine so I'll link to somewhere I mentioned this before rather than put it in another thread How did (or do) you pick your goal?

I totally get it. I'm sure my lean body mass is not were it should be relative to my body fat. I'm not muscular and I'm pretty flabby, but I figure it's a lot better at 125 than at 199.

Weekly Report

I will soon be finished with my first two weeks.

This morning the scale came in at 206.8 Two weeks ago, I started at 212. I have had UDs and DDs and stayed within the calories on all days EXCEPT one. I had reported that I would not follow calories on my DW's on Friday but went right back to a DD yesterday. I am happy to report that a little less of me was on scale as it came in at 206.8

It's working!!!!!

I'm in for this challenge. I signed up for the July 4th one, then promptly derailed myself. I was going through some significant emotional issues, and I haven't been JUDDDing for months...long story short, I've been maintaining for over a year, which is great, but I tried going back to just intuitive eating, and found the lbs creeping up. I can't remember exactly when or why I stopped JUDDDing, but I realized there was so much I missed about it. I recommitted on 7/12 and I'm 2.2lbs down so far

I'd love to be 164, which would put me in the "normal" category. However, 13lbs in 8 weeks might be a stretch....so I'll say 169 or under.

So good to be back on the boards and seeing so very many familiar faces, and a whole bunch of new ones!

I'm 5.4 pounds down in my first week! I'm really happy and aside from my body adjusting on the first couple of days it's been painless. If I'm feeling this good now I'm looking forward to another week of rotations when my SIRT1's are really flowing.

Keep up the great work guys. We're doing it!

I 3rd this...It's amazing!

I'm already satisfied as far as food is concerned and I still have another 750 calories to eat for the day. when else are you able to say something like that?

7/10 - 165.2
7/11 - 165.0
7/12 163.8
7/16 163.4

More of the same last night. Calorie burn from moving brush and wood. I don't think I will be finished moving the downed trees in my yard for a couple more days. Lots of exercise for me!

Nice to see the scale going in the right direction, now I just need to get the running in!

Lori, I would love to check in with each other. So far no exercise for me - but I still have time! How about you? My original goal is to have a walking exercise routine down by Labor Day. Stay tuned. I can do it!

Goner - So far no running for me. I have been working in the yard every night though. We have 4 trees down from storm about a week and a half ago. One week ago we cut them all up and now all branches and wood have to be hauled away to a pile until they can be split. In addition to that we are going camping this weekend. I have been getting the camper ready for that also. I'm thinking at least moving the would is great exercise. I still want to get back to the running though. And soon!
