Healing Day

Hi Cindy! I went to the June thread and almost had a panic attack! Glad I found you! It was closed with no forwarding address.

I'm switching to a M-W-F rotation to see if that helps me. This weekend was rough. I think it's because I'm still trying to get into the swing of JUDDD and I haven't figured out how to deal with weekends yet. Yesterday was a medium day and I did alright.

Any tips for surviving next to no calories? I'm so out of practice.

Yikes, blonde, it's rough starting out, huh? What worked best for you before? I'm not the best one to chime in here b/c I get much hungrier when I eat anything. I do best just having coffee all morning, then lots of 0 cal liquids all afternoon. I am glad you're here & you did well over your weekend!

Hi, Kissa!!!

LG & Dawn (carrying over from the June chat thread), you do have some heat going!! I really wish we did...only 74 today and cloudy. {sigh}

Blonde: Actually, what really helped me this week back on JUDDD was the phrase you coined for DD's; namely Healing Days. I think of DD's now as Healing Days. Thank you! Hope you do well this time around. Keeping busy on DD's really helps me.

I think mindset is everything. I have a pending job offer in the wings and I've been less than focused. I need to get that back. I feel confident today.

Flutter~ I do best with an LC breakfast. Today I had eggbeaters. It's weird, on UP days I rarely think about food at all...it's great to be here!

Redeemed~ Gotta love that Healing Day. It inspires me so much. I can't tell you how happy it makes me that others are relating to this approach. You're so right, staying busy is key. I have work today so that will help.

Great Day All! A fabulous meal is only one day away.

Let's Celebrate!!!!!I am officially retired as of yesterday although I will work the next school year on a 2 day per week basis that doesn't start until August. Of course I am worn out from moving all of our offices to a different school district last week as well as a two day craft show this past weekend.

But I am up to it since I am a JUDDD'er.

And I hope, hope, hope DS graduates from Army Ranger School July 12 and I can get that worry behind me too.
And I am maintaining even with the delicious seasonal Blue Bell ice cream flavors every other day.

They are DD's to me but call them whatever makes you happy. I am in the potato DD routine again for awhile until I get tired of that and will go to another one of my routines.

Congratulations Adi! What a milestone! I think doing the part-time thing is a great transition. You're such a busy lady - will retirement allow for more leisure, or will you just shift your focus from work to goats/crafts/Blue Bell ice cream?

Can't slow down but will have more time to do more goat milk products and more shows and to take the goat girls to some shows maybe out of state. They will get to go on more road trips.

Tried to edit my post but the timeline is now down to 15 minutes for edits so:

The Blue Bell flavor of the day is Happy Tracks - vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge and choc;late peanut butter cups. Really TOO much chocolate for me so it is not on my keeper list. Now Saturday was Banana Pudding and it is definitely on the keeper list. YUM!!!

I've had the Bunny Tracks and agree with you - it was tasty, but I'm not crazy about chocolate that stays so hard in ice cream. Fudge swirls on the other hand....mmmmmm! Banana pudding sounds so good!

Congrats, Adi! The goats will love this.
Blonde, I've been back in rotations for a bit. Loving it. Dds are coffee, broth, naked salad, and potatoes. It's working.
At our place, uds are healing days or days of reason (a reminder to me that they aren't massive hoggy days) and dds are light days. Love them both at this point.
Happy day, all.

TMI alert for the men . . .

I just did the math and realized I'm due for TOM today or tomorrow. If that's not bad enough, I should be getting another visit from the dreaded dude while we are on our cruise!

Just thought I'd share. Misery loves company, you know.

Dawn do you take BC? You know you could just keep taking it through that week and TOM wouldn't happen...that is, IF you take them.

Congrats Adi on your retirement!! I foresee you learning to make all kinds of delicious ice cream, in between all the other goings on in your busy life.

I'm not taking any BC at the moment. Keira was a miracle child after being together for almost 5 years with no BC during that time. I'd rather NOT get pg, but I doubt it'll happen, and we're careful.

Congratulations on your "retirement" Adi! I should live so long...

I gave up on dieting for June...and predictably, gained that same @#$%& 10lbs back...just didn't have the mental energy for it.

BWRose, I'm getting back in the groove too, as of today...I had "Better than Buillion" earlier, now I'm doing sun tea, tummy is very grumbly, but that prolly has more to do with binging on margaritas all weekend than actual hunger. I'm picking at watermelon and cauliflower, and trying to ignore it.

Am I the only one with startitis? Or is it beginaphobia? sooo many excuses why i just can't start dieting today! A whole month's worth, in fact.

I had one of those too! After almost 3 years of 'trying' I was blessed with my DD. Although we didn't try not to have another I wasn't lucky to get a second chance but I'm perfectly happy with my 'only'!

I'm on BC only because I have a fibroid. I've tried taking them continuously but that didn't work. The only way I can 'reset' my TOM is to quit taking them early and 'forcing' TOM to happen a week early. I'll be doing that because TOM was supposed to be during the wedding.

Kristin I like that UD can be for healing too. What ever works, we'll just do it. It's been kinda hard for me but today I feel good and in control, with a good positive outlook. I know I can make it under 500 today. I feel it.

Granny, starting can be hard, I think we've all been there. Do the best you can and don't give up. If you don't make it through without going over then call it a medium day and do your next rotation (up Day) and start again. It's hard to start a DD over and over, so take it in stride and keep pushing. You'll get there.

Wow, congratulations Adi. Retirement is wonderful.

Glad to see you back Lynn, missed your lovely avatar.

I have decided fitness is my aim this month. No more excuses, back to classes more regularly and try to do couch to 5 k again. I did this 6 years ago then my knee made me stop, but with JUDDD, Glucosamine and DE it is up to trying again.

Hello! I am a June transplant...been JUDDDing for a while so I will join you all here!

UD today for me. I need to work on not having so much sugar, even if it fits in my calories it still wreaks havoc on my mental health and wellbeing. Makes me all grumpy. I usually have been doing M,W,F DDs but keeping on a steady alternate day thing this week.

Thanks for all your support!

Amy!! I know what you mean about sugar. I still eat it, but I'm trying not to drink it too often. The thing I don't like about not eating sugar is the substitutions I'm compelled to make. If I can't have it, I want something similar, and I'm kinda done with frankenfoods IYKWIM.

Happy July all!!
I like the idea of healing days... But I also like what someone said (not even sure which thread)... Looking at DD hunger as sore muscles the day after a workout. As a p90x'er, I can really relate to that mindset.

Today I'm having a grumpy DD... Not overly hungry... Havent eaten anything unusual today (like extra sugar or something)... Just grumpy... :-(

Ditto!

I made a demo Christmas stocking today. Camo fabric, blaze orange fleece
cuff, embroidered with the font they use on "Duck Dynasty" for the name of
the show. There is a new Facebook auction site for hand crafted items ONLY
and I may try to list that stocking as a "Christmas in July" item.

Congratulations on your semi-retirement. Very best wishes for your Ranger son and his graduation.

Just so you know, in our household those are Adi Hack 1 (potato) and Adi Hack 2 (hard-boiled eggs). There is also Adi dressing (blitzed fat cottage cheese, thinned with whatever is appropriate and on-hand, and served with a tomato side dish such as salsa).
