She really liked it, and has another scheduled for tomorrow. They gave her homework. She has to memorize their creed, practice common responses (yes sir, no sir, etc.), and perform 3 unsolicited acts of responsibility (do the dishes, hold the door for Mom, etc.). She's trying really hard.

I have to do Benadryl at bedtime, ESP on dd nights!

My Ds16's doc had him doing melatonin at night, combined with no blue light stuff 2 hours before bedtime. Worked great for him when he actually did it!

I think DW takes it. I should ask her for a few. TOM came this morning as I got ready to give a training Now it's 6pm and I'm exhausted and feel so yucky. That whole episode may have been from my wonky hormones. If it wasn't so totally sunny I think I would get in bed, but I can't nap when it's sunny.

That is so great!!!! Martial Arts can be a great tool for kids and Keira already seems to be a great kid so this will be icing on the cake.

Hi JUDDD BUDDS

Saw something on Dr. Oz's website today called Garcinia Gambogia (I am pretty sure I have that right) It is made from a tamarin fruit in India (I think) It is suppose to suppress appetite and burn fat I guess I will find out Hope everyone is doing well

Seems like Dr. Oz puts anything and everything on his website for weight loss. You may as well go to any website that's soliciting business, IMHO.

Per Wikipedia (because we all know that's a reliable source ) :
Common names include Garcinia Cambogia (a former scientific name), as well as gambooge, brindleberry, brindall berry, Malabar tamarind, assam fruit, vadakkan puli (northern tamarind) and kudam puli (pot tamarind). This fruit looks like a small pumpkin and is green to pale yellow in color. Gambooge has recently received considerable media attention because of its purported effects on weight loss, though there is no clinical evidence to support this claim.

ETA: From the same Wikipedia source:

Weight loss[edit]

In late 2012, a United States television personality, Dr. Oz, promoted Garcinia cambogia extract as a "magic" weight-loss aid. Dr. Oz's previous endorsements have often led to a substantial increase in consumer interest in the promoted products. However, clinical trials do not support claims that Garcinia camobogia is an effective weight-loss aid.[5] A meta-analysis found a possible small, short-term weight loss effect (under 1 kilogram).[6] However, side effects—namely hepatotoxicity—led to one preparation being withdrawn from the market.[7]

A 1998 randomized controlled trial looked at the effects of hydroxycitric acid, the purported active ingredient in gambooge, as a potential antiobesity agent in 135 people. The conclusion from this trial was that "Garcinia cambogia failed to produce significant weight loss and fat mass loss beyond that observed with placebo".[8]

IMO, Dr. Oz is just trying to make a buck. I don't listen to anything he says.
If you want to try it and it causes no side effects then go for it!

Rant: An overweight, hairy man whom is also a FB friend is constantly making judgement calls about other people's looks...He just posted a long diatribe about people watching in his town today and how some women just wear sweat shirts and put their hair in buns without making any effort to be attractive. That really pissed me off, lol. This same man is constantly posting pictures of himself with his shirt off, and his huge gut covered in gray hair. I have nothing against his looks, or his right to post pictures. What I do have a beef with is his constant judgement of women, as if he is the male standard of beauty, or as if anyone gives a a rat's butt about his opinion. I told him on is his FB page that I objected to his criticisms and he said, even big women are beautiful if they take the time to fix themselves up. I said, Oh, even big women huh. And he thought I was being serious (and not sarcastic), and proceeded to say that he had many big women friends whom he thought were sexy. Who cares? Ugh, such ignorance.

I'm so pleased that she liked it. I found karate an invaluable mental discipline and it makes you remarkably fit, almost as a by-product of everything else. I've no scientific study to back this up but my observation tends to be that adolescent hormone upheaval is just that bit easier to cope with when young men and women have the insulin sensitivity that such sports and fitness confers on the muscles etc.

I have tried it and it usually works but not now. I even thought that the bottle was getting old so bought new bottle and a different one they have out that is twice the dose and has stuff in it to make you stay asleep. That did not work either. Just went thru another 2hr. sleep night again. This is bound to stop some time soon I would think.

Windy, I think it took about 2 weeks for me to start sleeping normally on DD nights. Is it just DDs that you can't sleep, or any night? Now, it doesn't matter whether I've eaten or not, I sleep lol. The only thing I can say is that I have a lot of wakefulness before I turn out the light and often stay up too late. But, that is just my fault lol.

I haven't unfriended "Mikey" just yet...another lady wrote this morning that she agreed with him, and that people were just too sloppy these days and even go to funerals looking like slobs, lol. I "get" that, but he had to throw in the part about women not *trying* to look attractive...and even said, "How are they going to ever find a mate?" I was tempted to say, "If you did, there's hope for anybody."

Librarygirl, that makes me think of that old (great) tv show, Designing Women, where Julia Sugarbaker used to complain about large, unkepmt fellows wearing t-shirts that read "No Fat Chicks".

Clearly, irony is lost on this guy.

Just checking in!! OMGosh its been crazy weather here for last two weeks!! Just rain and storm after rain and storm. We have lost our lights atleast every other day!

Here is a pic from the storms yesterday!! Scary!!! This was taken from our front door and it was right above our neighbors house. Luckly they took off for the other neighbors basement when the warnings came......

No damage thought for us, it formed, touched down for like a second, then pulled back up and hit down the road.....

I have never had to deal with a major earthquake here. We have one very very rarely. We dont usually get tornado's here either. Maybe one every other year or so. But western PA has some of the weirdest weather at times! We can go through 4 seasons in a day's span at times.

I am just hoping for the rain to stop. You cant walk in the yard without sinking or losing your shoes in the mud! My grass is so high, but you can only cut parts of it because the yard is so soggy, the tractor tires just spin and through muddy water up at you.....been a crazy summer so far!
