As long as *you're* ok with it, then I guess it's all gravy. Will you have to go a lot lower in calories when you reach goal?

Dawn your vacation sounds awesome! I went to the Holacaust Museam in DC when I was a teenager and went to Anne Frank's house when I was 19. I'm also Jewish and knew people who had survived the concentration camps. If Keira is mature I think she will be alright. Maybe just prepare her a bit before you go.

Carol that is so awesome that your mom is doing great with JUDDD!

I had 1 cup of coffee at 6am and just some water since. It's almost 10pm and I have a 220 calorie smart one which I should throw in the microwave cause I'm sleepy. Night all.

300cals of potato vs 300 cals of salad on DD?

Keirasmom - Leftover are what I can't eat...lol...just realised what you meant...

I always keep a little left over for my dog Scruffy. I'm quite potty about dogs.

Also, Happy holidays, you sound like an ace mom.

I like to keep my DDs as low as possible, which means pretty simple. I often don't eat until the evening.

My UDs tend to be high, and, like Dawn, usually include wine... so I am a little more careful during the day too leave myself more leeway in the evenings.

I have been in maintenance for a long time, although I prefer the scale to register below 126 than above it. We are never satisfied are we?
Ha, ha, I'm in the same boat as you, similar height and similar weight and I like to be under 126 rather than over Plus I do like a little tipple in the evenings.

By the way, it's nice to have some support of my own on this site where I can share my thoughts.

Thanks everyone for your replies about planning. Someone once asked me why I planned and I said so I get to eat enough! Which is true, because I spent so many years in deprivation that it became a hard habit to break. Now if I want something decadent I can have it without the gremlins in my head telling me how sinful I am

Carol - I don't like nasty surprises either, so planning defo takes away that element for me too and your Mum sounds awesome.

Pooticus - Mexican sounds lovely and thanks for the detailed run down of your days, it's nice to know I'm on the right track.

Hope I got everyones names right!

DD for me today and my dear husband is at home so we should get out for a nice walk with Scruffy.

I was pondering whether it is more calorie burning to eat 300 cals of potato or 300 cals of salad on my DD, seeing as potatoes seem to have this magic insulin/fat burning spike.

Any thoughts on potato calories vs calories from other foods?

Happy days...Kerry x

Good morning, JUDDDers! Today is a down day for me, and I just ate a big bowl of cauliflower and a couple little cukes, and drank a protein shake. I have two of my grandkids here...they are like gasoline and a match together....the cyclone has blown apart the house from one end to the other. Yesterday, we had a total junk dinner. I ate chicken nuggets and tater tots. :O I guess I deserved the gain, but it still frustrated me no end to see the scale go in the wrong direction...especially after I was 400 under my calorie allotment for the day. I probably should throw the scale out, or hide it in a cabinet.

I spent several hours in the pool with the kids yesterday. They have their suits on and are waiting on me. I am stalling!

Will check in later...the natives are coming! Screaming all the way!

Dawn have a great trip!!!

I echo that it totally feels like Friday today. What's up with that?? Today is an UD and I'm patiently trying to wait for my feeding window. MHs just hit about 10 minutes ago! LOL. Found lamb chops on "deep discount" so am so looking forward to lambie chops on the grill this evening with pickled onions and a gorgeous blue cheese salad--maybe some grilled zuccs.

Gloat all you want.......I would be excited too!

On another note, I just got done with a buffet lunch and ate way too much. It is amazing how I used to feel like this every day and now I realize how good it feels not to eat so much! But, that strawberry shortcake sure was good!

Haha, It is my Friday too! I just wished it was already Friday so I didn't have to get out of bed! Tomorrow, I hope I can sleep in a little. Do you leave tomorrow for your cruise...it was a cruise, wasn't it?

ETA: On a completely, absolutely different subject...I have noticed some people saying "feeding" to refer to themselves eating at certain times. I don't know why but that has a negative connotation to me. It seems so ... uncivilized.

Yes, we leave tomorrow for the cruise. I've already begun with the rum drinks.

I don't like the term "feeding" either. It makes me think of a horse with a feed bag, or pigs lined up at the feeding trough. Probably just me, though.

Gee it isn't Friday???? Why did I think it was all day today. Doesn't matter since I am on vacation but I thought tomorrow was Saturday so I did a bunch of stuff today so I would be ready for the weekend. Oh well.

I wish we could try my "idea" of pina coladas! Would you be a guinea pig? I think it's wonderful that you are about to embark on a vacation adventure.

I just hate it! I didn't want to say those words, a trough. Ugh, but that's exactly how I feel when I see that word too! I feel like it reduces us to beings that exist outside of our personalities, to a base level. If you know what I mean.

I agree about 'feeding'. It also has a slight 'laboratory' feel to it for me. Interestingly, in German, they have different verbs for 'to eat' for people and animals, and to use the wrong one for people is quite an insult.

I agree about the lab thing. Feeding day sounds as if we've had food cruelly withheld by some (possibly malevolent!) person in power, who now wishes to fatten us up. Some JBs have enough problems with the deprivation gremlin to start with!

Logically, the opposite of feeding day would be - starving day!

Your rug sounds interesting Sirtain. I've never heard of twining - I'll have to Google it. I used to love doing crafty type projects but have gotten out of the habit.
