Had a DD that turned into an UD yesterday—very hungry and I was hungry earlier than usual. I’m starting to think it had a lot to do with not having my “normal” DD food yesterday (I forgot to grab my Greek yogurt when I left for work.) I usually eat my yogurt around 1:00 pm—I think if I had the yogurt with me yesterday, I would have eaten it early, and would have avoided the UD—I ended up eating a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings—the day was then shot and I just made it an UD. Next time I’ll try driving to the grocery store for a yogurt instead of Culver’s. Still a newbie and still learning. Today will be another UD because I already made plans with friends, so back on track tomorrow.

July Goal – 137 lbs.

Hoping! I may adjust my goal down to 139 though. The belly's still too poochy and I doubt a few more pounds is going to help anything. Plus, 139 would be HALF my starting weight, and is still in the middle of "healthy" range for my height.

Wow, Dawn. You look so tiny to me. You must be small framed if 139 is middle range for 5'9? I am small framed, so I probably should weigh about 110 at 5'4. I haven't weighed that since junior high, lol. I think you're doing great!

If you believe the "charts" I should be between 125-169. I felt good around 120-130 in high school and around 130-135 in my early 20s. Still trying to balance the face and the waist though, so 139 may have me looking older than I want to. I figure if I do make it that low, I'll just have to see how I look and may, like Adi, add a few pounds if I look too thin.

The frame thing is weird. I never thought I had fat wrists, but that measurement has gone down along with my weight. I can't tell if I'm small or medium framed. At one point, I thought I was large framed.

If you go by the 100 pounds at 5'0" and add 5 pounds for each inch, I should weigh 145. By those calculations, you should weigh 120. It's all so darned confusing. I really need to do the water displacement thing. If it weren't for my belly, I would have been happy at 160.

ETA: The first DH married me at 120 and told me I was fat at 135, which is part of the reason he's not the current DH! His new wife is chubby, and I've known and disliked her since grade school, so that makes me happy. I know that's mean and spiteful, but it's honest.

If you believe the "charts" I should be between 125-169. I felt good around 120-130 in high school and around 130-135 in my early 20s. Still trying to balance the face and the waist though, so 139 may have me looking older than I want to. I figure if I do make it that low, I'll just have to see how I look and may, like Adi, add a few pounds if I look too thin.

The frame thing is weird. I never thought I had fat wrists, but that measurement has gone down along with my weight. I can't tell if I'm small or medium framed. At one point, I thought I was large framed.

If you go by the 100 pounds at 5'0" and add 5 pounds for each inch, I should weigh 145. By those calculations, you should weigh 120. It's all so darned confusing. I really need to do the water displacement thing. If it weren't for my belly, I would have been happy at 160.

ETA: The first DH married me at 120 and told me I was fat at 135, which is part of the reason he's not the current DH! His new wife is chubby, and I've known and disliked her since grade school, so that makes me happy. I know that's mean and spiteful, but it's honest.
That whole telling your frame by your wrist circumference thingy has always hacked me off. When I am heavier, my wrists do get fatter. They may not be the part of me that jumps out as the fattest, but there's definitely extra flesh there. I'm just now feeling like my wrists are beginning to be more normal looking.

I love that last comment you made Dawn. Honest and I love that. And I don't blame you. Fat at 135! Loser!

7/12 - DD - 169 ? 4am weight. Going to try and get back to sleep.


Going to do some more research today on these boards. I'm tracking all my calories, drinking plenty of water but the scale is not moving much. I know I messed up on the mod day and didn't eat enough on 7/8 and my first DD was close to 500 calories but per the book that is allowed the first two weeks but I'm shooting now for the 360 calorie count. Could be TOM is arriving, my meds. Not sure. But I'm going to stick it out for a few more weeks and see what happens. Maybe try a potato hack that I have been hearing about.

Courtesy of you two, I now have an insight into what it's like to experience an MCT-boosted coffee nasal irrigation.

Honestly, the more personal data people report, the more apparent it is that blunt edge assessments for frames or body size (BMI comes to mind) are shown to be helpful for assessing a population but useless for individuals. It's one of the reasons that there are now different BMI cut-offs for triggering assessment for metabolic disorders (in the UK, clinical guidance has changed for it to be a BMI of 23 for South Asian men rather than the more usual 25-30 BMI which is the overweight to obese category).

I may have a small rant about this later but I'll put it in the chat thread.

ETA: I don't know enough about various fitness methods to know if Zumba does something similar, but Adi regularly mentions that when she has the opportunity to do her T-Tapp exercises, people comment on how lean this makes her look. I had a quick look at the exercises on YouTube and it looks like some of them would be good for 'lower pooch' areas although the 'organs in place' sounds a tad grisly.

Cookwithme, give it time. The first few weeks are about getting the sirtuins activated. That's what makes JUDDD so forgiving once established. Just stick with the program a bit longer before tweaking. I'm afraid patience is an essential JUDDD requirement for most of us.

I'm going to pop a response over in the July newbies thread if that's OK: July Daily Chat Thread. But, in summary - it's early days and you're just settling into the rotations and learning what works for you. It really is too early to start tweaking.

As Kissa/Cindy says, Relax, Rotate, Rejoice - it's difficult when we're impatient but we need to trust the process.
