Goal for July - 190, keep bounces below 195, more Strength Training trying to lean out

7/1 - DD - 199.6, 1028, 60 minutes of cardio/weight lifting
7/2 - UD - 197.8, 2672, 65 minutes cardio/weight lifting
7/3 - MD - 198.6, 1579 - turned into a MD, 75 minutes cardio/weight lifting
7/4 - UD - 195, (ate a lot, but kept low carb), 7.54 mile walk this morning
7/5 - DD - 200.6, 926, 63 minutes of cardio/weight lifting
7/6 - UD - 195, 4000+, 7.55 mile run/walk early this morning
7/7 - UD - 199.6, 2600 planned, cardio/weight lifting planned

I think I can safely say that the gluten free beer had nothing to do with the bounce. I had nothing to drink but water and tea yesterday and still had an almost equal bounce eating the same food. Makes me feel better about an having one of the gluten free beers on occasion knowing it probably won't have a dramatic affect. I did have a bunch of food though! Today may end up being more of an MD we will see.

Yesterday was supposed to be a DD, but it turned into a MD. I usually try not to make dinner on my DD’s, but thought my family should have dinner…..didn’t work well. I will have to make sure there are leftovers for now on for DD’s or make something I don’t like lol.

July Goal – 137 lbs.

My July goal is going to be to exercise 5 of 7 days each week and tighten up my midsection! Perhaps this month will be inches and not so much pounds!

I'm a MAY newbie so not exactly sure, but I have read where you wait till your weight is the same for longer than 2 weeks before adjusting your calories... someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I think that some people never adjusted their calories lower.. .but as in all things JUDDD - YMMV.

Agreed that it's emphatically a YMMV thing. It's not 'officially' a stall until you've lost neither inches nor weight in 6 weeks. Some people are experienced enough in their JUDDD journey that they know to tweak when they feel different.

I waited 5 weeks 5 days of a plateau before making a tweak (and it was substantial because I didn't really feel that approx 300/1600 DD/UD left me with much wiggle room for adapting my kcals significantly downward at that time). After I broke my plateau (still in rotation), I was able to return to JUDDD at calorie levels adjusted to my lower weight but not as low as I'd have had to drop them if I'd initially gone that route. (Of course, it's possible that I should have experimented by raising them at that time )

I made the mistake in the past of lowering my calories before I was in a true stall and it extended the "stall." When I increased back to my previous calories, the weight started coming off again. I'm not messing with anything right now, and I know it'll move soon. I'm just grumpy because I'm so close to a new decade, and want to get there! For me, I had to adjust about every 30 pounds or so. I'm confident my current numbers will take me to goal if I could just learn some patience.

I am also 10 days of bouncing around 136/137 & just 1 pound from my big goal. I actually first hit 137 18 days ago! I am NOT messing with my numbers. 1. I did that before, just like Dawn did. It stalled me and I had to raise my numbers back up before it went down again. What's the rush, really? I am still using my INITIAL Juddd numbers from when I weighed 190! They've worked this far, why mess with them? 2. I want to keep my metabolism going for maintenance. Who wants less if they don't HAVE to?

Anyhoo! Patience my friends, patience.

Dawn, that new decade will pop in! TOM wreaks major havoc! I'm expecting him shortly myself, that rotten thing!

7/1 - 204.1 - UD - (calories? probably went over) - passed today the halfway mark to goal!
7/2 - 205.7 - DD (554)
7/3 - 204.0 - UD (?) - ate lightly during the day then didn't count and went a little nuts at dinner AGAIN. must fix this. being done with the booth will help, I think.
7/4 - 206.7 - DD - Rather than a double up day, I'm shooting for a higher down day.
7/5 - 207.5 - UD (2008) - I have been so off with my rotations ... getting back on track now.
7/6 - 205.1 - DD (608)
7/7 - 203.0 - UD - That makes 70 pounds evicted.

This happened to me too! I recalculated just because I was feeling ambitious and it completely backfired. Raising calories broke the three week stall.

Thanks everyone for the answers about when to mess with your numbers. I am going to have to keep that in the back of my mind. It is so hard to wrap my mind around sometimes you have to raise your numbers in order to lose. My mind is still holding onto "traditional weightloss" methods.

Are big bounces typical for JUDDD?? I am a daily weigher and the bounces do not usually bother me that much, but this one was significant. I have noticed more than one person has an exceptionally low day and then the bounce back up for a few days before the weight settles. Trying to deal with the scale bounce calmly as I have only been doing JUDDD about 4 weeks now.

Yes, it's very common, Lori. I think it's because we lose so much water weight after a DD. Some more than others. The "real" weight loss takes a lot longer, so you're going to bounce for a while...
