This is my 3rd dd and you would think that I would see a little scale action.. how long does it take usually? I am happy with the way I am feeling just would like an idea on a time schedule. How can you not lose when you cut 3000 calories a week along with the fluid intake anyone have an idea? also what about exercise..does it help get the ball rolling?

I'd suggest giving yourself enough time to see some results - this is just your induction period. Adi lost nothing during her induction period but then went on to shed 40lbs and reach her target weight.

Not sure why I have to bounce so high all the time after UD's! I had a couple of salty indulgences but kept it pretty reasonable, and I know its mostly water, but the scale is such a pain in the a$$. Truly feel kind of like a slave to those numbers and they control my mood. Maybe it was the combination of staying up most of Sunday night for work and then driving 300 miles round trip on top of that and then going to the gym and doing more than normal, plus the indulgences. Maybe some of it is muscle gains, but not 6.8 pounds worth, we'll see. I didn't get as much sleep last night either, so I'm going to make today a complete rest day to see about recovering, eating mostly protein.

Reduced UD calories by 200. 1600 doesn't seem to work anymore and I don't want to reduce DD calories because I've never noticed any difference when I did.

Mike, I completely agree about the scale! And I think you've really hit on a bunch of factors. Sleep is a big one for me. Just this morning, I weighed a whole pound more at 5 am (when I thought I was up) and 10am (after I had fallen back asleep). You've been working so hard, and it's difficult not to let the scale bum us out when we don't like what we see, but try to repeat "it's not a real gain ... it's not a real gain ..." and you know by now it'll be gone in no time. You are doing great!

Goal for July: Onederland. Calorie range: UD 2000, DD <800, but experimenting with higher calories on exercise days (adding back partial calories).

7/1 - 204.1 - UD - (calories? probably went over) - passed today the halfway mark to goal!
7/2 - 205.7 - DD (554)
7/3 - 204.0 - UD (?) - ate lightly during the day then didn't count and went a little nuts at dinner AGAIN. must fix this. being done with the booth will help, I think.
7/4 - 206.7 - DD - Rather than a double up day, I'm shooting for a higher down day.
7/5 - 207.5 - UD (2008) - I have been so off with my rotations ... getting back on track now.
7/6 - 205.1 - DD (608)
7/7 - 203.0 - UD (1993 + a couple bites before bed, uncounted) - That makes 70 pounds evicted.
7/8 - 203.4 - DD (581)
7/9 - 201.8 - UD (2290-408 burned=1882 net)
7/10 - 202.5 - DD (618)
7/11 - 203.5 - UD - (2558 .... didn't plan on going that high, but my tracker says I burned 687 calories so net is 1871?)
7/12 - 203.7 - DD (508)
7/13 - DNW - UD - had to leave the house at 6 in the morning... no time to weigh. Went over my UD cals by a bit.
7/14 - 203.4 - UD - Today will work best as another UD unfortunately, and I will have to estimate calories. After that, will tighten things up for the rest of the week.
7/15 - 200.7 - ??

This may be a false low ... I'm not changing my stats. I wasn't very hungry during the day yesterday, so I saved all my calories for a lovely Shakespeare in the Park picnic with friends, and then ... right after I got home I (TMI) lost it all. (either something I ate, or more likely the stomach bug that has been going around like wildfire around here ... my DH is still recovering from it). It was a long night, but just now I've started to feel much better. I have no idea what to do about rotations. Neither an up day nor a down day sounds good, so I guess i'll just take it easy and see what feels right.

Ach, it sounds like a Healing and Convalescence Day is in order. :

Get well soon. If you can manage it, a little broth might help restore your electrolyte balance?
