DD Monday: menu and plans

I hope for a good start to the week for everyone.

B: MCT oil and lecithin boosted coffee: 158kcals

L: Tuna and assorted vegetables: 160kcals

D: MCT boosted cocoa: 250kcals

MintQ8 06-23-2013 11:40 PM

You're up early!!!

B: nothing
L: hoping for nothing - we'll see!!!
D: 2 or 3 skinny decaf flat whites (coffees) & the lowest cal sandwich I can find in the airport!!!

The plan is then to avoid whatever BA plan to serve me when we take off at 0.01am on Tuesday morning (you have to be really careful to go to the airport on the right day!!) - then have the muck they serve me for breakfast (if hungry) - before a great UD with Kissa!!!

SlowSure 06-24-2013 03:55 AM

I hope that you have a straightforward flight followed by a fabulous UD with Kissa.

adillenal 06-24-2013 04:49 AM

DD
B - coffee with HWC
potato DD

FairyWren 06-24-2013 05:18 AM

Well yesterday's DD turned into more of an UD making 3 in a row after a weekend of socialising. Soooo, today will be a DD

Water only until dinner then homemade chicken soup, total around 430 kcals

Safe travels MintQ8!

Doggygirl 06-24-2013 05:23 AM

Hi JBs!

After much mental debate over whether to try the potato down day or do a protein down day, I decided I'll at least eat the potatoes I've cooked! :)

So..

B: Decaf
L: 4 oz boiled chilled potato
S: 4 oz boiled chilled potato
D: 4 oz boiled chilled potato
S: 4 oz boiled chilled potato

Will be taking my BG after the ones when I'm home from internship.

Have a happy healing day everyone!

Beth

zipp2play 06-24-2013 05:28 AM

Good morning all!

Slow - Indeed a good start would be nice!

Vicky - so excited for your trip! ENJOY!

Adi - enjoy your potatoes!

Evie - life does happen! Enjoy your DD rotation today.

Beth - let us know how that goes for you!

It's Monday morning and I was up too late last night. Darn Summer schedule is killing me! ;)

Here's what I plan:

2 eggs, cottage cheese 180c
cottage cheese strawberries 100c
salad with turkey 90c
Tonight, not sure......

goal, between 600-700c

KeirasMom 06-24-2013 06:08 AM

Beth, I did the potato DD once. It was okay, but didn't leave me nearly as satisfied as my normal DD, and I didn't notice any better than normal losses the next day. Some do very well with them, but it wasn't worth it for me to try a second time.

B: Iced tea, espresso shake (120)
L: Small Wendy's chili with Trader Joe's habanero sauce (180)
D: Greek yogurt? (80)

Flossyliz 06-24-2013 06:39 AM

Had a splurgy weekend. :o That's no way to lose weight!!
I now need to roll my sleeves up and do some low DDs! :)

It's 2.30pm and, so far, I'm on my first cuppa. I'm hoping to eat as late as possible so I won't need a snack at bedtime.

Dinner: Courgette and cucumber linguine, with chilli jam and ff Greek yogurt. Served on a big bed of romaine, watercress and rocket with sweet pepper and tomatoes :yummy: - 155 cals.
Cuppas - 45 cals.

Total = 200cals
- or 280 if I need supper.

Whitlin' 06-24-2013 07:19 AM

My goodness, I believe Monday morning has inspired everyone! What a good turnout for the DD meet and greet!

:)

Oooooo, thanks for a little thoughtful summing up, Monica!

(What she said!)

And a special shout-out to Cindy Kissa who is going to be so happy soon.

Flossyliz, I was right there with you with a Saturday UD that maaaay have gotten a little out of hand :o , but then Sunday was a calm and sensible MD and strangely I dropped back a half-pound this a.m.

This makes me feel determined! :muscles:

B - berry protein smoothie with coconut milk - 155
L - big toss salad - cals to be determined
S - potatoes, and will add light sour cream if the calories seem favorable

LoCarbGal 06-24-2013 07:20 AM

Good Monday morning! I had a nice, satisfying UD yesterday, and I'm allowing myself a few more calories this DD. I don't think I'll weigh until Thursday morning this week. I've been enjoying the peace of not thinking about it every morning!

B: Blueberry tea
L: Coffee/HWC
D: Tilapia sautéed in a little butter, tomato and fennel salad

Total 500-550 calories

deedee 06-24-2013 07:35 AM

I've had a very rough few days, health wise. Was off plan, but not stressed about it. Back to a nice DD today I hope.

HWC with coffee for breakfast, iced coffee with HWC for lunch. Might have an egg for dinner.

KeirasMom 06-24-2013 07:36 AM

Feel better Dee!

AndyBFK 06-24-2013 08:06 AM

Happy Monday!

Well, I had to switch rotations after yesterday turned into my 3rd UD in a row. Ugh. Not what I wanted to do as I am trying desperately to loose ANY weight this month. I'm flying back home for the weekend so see family and I really was hoping to have lost a good amount this month. I'm UP at the moment which I am sure is the result of 3 UD's in a row (and my amazing ability to retain water like no one else!) so I am going to be super strict with my calories this week before I leave. I'm also going to back to very LOW carb for the week to try and drop some of this bloat (which always does it for me).

I'm experimenting with the HWC thing so here's the goal for today-

Morning- Coffee w/2 TBS HWC 90 calories/0 carbs
Afternoon- Coffee w/2 TPS HWC 90 calories/0 carbs; Chai decaf (to mix it up) with 2 TBS HWC 90 Cal/0carbs
Dinner- following LCG's advice and direction I have an avocado. I have a total of 514 calories to eat, so I think I'll still be within my allotment.

SlowSure 06-24-2013 09:57 AM

Well, I'm homeward bound - thank goodness for a train service with WiFi :o

Number of birthdays you have this month, it's a wonder your even vaguely maintaining, never mind repeatedly sub-130. :)

Sounds wise. I'd stop weighing at present if I didn't need to keep an eye on how much fluid I'm retaining with the inflammation/knee/thigh and other tedious stuff.

I'm sorry to read that - I can only hope that it improves in a timely manner.

Keeping fingers and toes in superstitious knots that you have a good DD. :)

I didn't manage lunch so I'll reschedule that for when I'm home and bump the cocoa for later - maybe share it with DH who won't be home until much later tonight.

LiLi914 06-24-2013 10:28 AM

Feel better Dee!

Today is a much needed DD and tomorrow I have a team building event which of course involves food so I'm keeping it low today.

L: Chobani yogurt
Gym after work
D: Shirataki Noodles and 1/2 cup Diced tomatoes.

Pami 06-24-2013 10:37 AM

B- iced tea
L- Carbmaster (blackberry- yumm!) yogurt -60 cals.; 4g carbs, net
D- TBD
S- strawberries -52 cals.; 11g carbs, net

sorenkkg 06-24-2013 11:08 AM

Hi Folks! I'm back :) posted last night -- was my 9th wedding anniversary with DH, so we had a NINE course meal (all small plates, but still... oof!) at our favorite place. Our chef came in on his day off to cook for us!

Today, after 2 weeks away and eating all sorts of craziness-- my first real down day!

B: water
L: a leftover slice of pizza (265) and some popcorn (125) and I think I'm still doing ok.

iced tea, no caffeine today-- having trouble sleeping in this timezone.

D: I plan for veggies and chicken slices -- it's too hot out to do too much in the kitchen.

:hiya: glad to be back!
s.

OMGosh! I just have to tell you guys that this Bigelow Wild Blueberry w/Acai tea is amazing! It tastes great, and smells even better. It's a nice, desserty treat!

deedee, I sure hope you're feeling better! Good luck on your HWC day.

Andy, don't worry about those 3 UDs in a row - it happens. I know how seeing people you want to have some losses, but you'll get them in time! I don't know if I'm remembering correctly, and I hope this isn't presumptuous, but I seem to remember you are using quite high UD calories - I wonder if that is keeping you from losing like you want to? Ignore me if this is too buttinsky! Hope the HWC/avocado works well!

Soren, girlie! It's so good to have you back. Happy anniversary - it sounds like it was yummy! I can't wait to hear (and maybe see some pics???) about your visit with Kissa!

Vicky, I don't know how you can be good when traveling! Enjoy your mum and family!

OMG, at this point I will TAKE ANY ADVICE I can get!!!! My UD calories are right at 20% on the calculator- 2600 about. It is very high, and I do find myself making some unsmart choices in the quality of my food because I know I can and still make it under 2600. I've know on JUDDD a calories is a calorie. But I have thought about trying to adjust what I eat for my 2600 calories. Often having SO many to get too leads to too many UUAD's. When your going that high, and making sure to pick foods that will get you too your number, it's very easy to go over. So, I've been trying to look into that and see if I have been going too high without even realizing it. The other factor is that I travel every other week for work. So for an entire 5 day work week I am eating out. Its actually easier to do those as DD's because I can just eat nothing and them HWC :) days, or eat somewhere where I know the NV beforehand and can somewhat control what I have (like Wendys chili for instance). But, on the UDs I tend to order room service, or eat at non-chain restaurants (so there is no posted calorie counts). And I'm doing a lot of estimating. I'm wondering if that is throwing me off since I seem to come home from those trips with a gain every time.

Someone on the Main Lobby was putting butter in it-
said it gave it a cobbler flavor.
I guess we could try that tomorrow, right?

Doggygirl 06-24-2013 02:57 PM

Hi again all! DD going well - just sort of checking in. I did not eat my noon potatoes - didn't eat at all until 4PM. I was amazed how easy that was. Maybe my body is adjusting a bit, and also this was my first DD at internship rather than at home/home office. Sure makes a difference to be far far away from the kitchen and well distracted!

Zip - I LOVE cottage cheese and berries!! I'm planning some of those for breakfast tomorrow!!

Dawn - the jury is still out for me on the potato hack DD. But I'm enjoying the experimenting! Using smaller portions is keeping my BG under my desired upper limit, but still.... I'm looking forward to trying a Wendy's chilli soon.

Happy Healing Day!

Beth:heart:

2600 is not as high as I was thinking you were shooting for, and sounds right for your current weight, so I wouldn't mess with that too much after all. Somehow I was thinking I saw 3000 or some such. But I'm sure travelling and guesstimating calories on the road is very difficult. You are to be commended for dealing with that all the time!

Oooh yeah! I'm going to try that!

Carly 06-24-2013 03:25 PM

6am- cup of coffee w/ SF creamer= 30
10am- half a cup of coffee w/ half and half= 20
4pm- half cup of coffee w/ non dairy creamer= 20

Bed time snack :dunno:
Magic pop(s) and laughing cow light wedge(s)= 50-100
Celery and walden farms dressing= ? have to weigh the celery

Whitlin' 06-24-2013 04:20 PM

Slowsure, I hope the inflammation eases.

Was dependent upon a friend who was bringing that lunch salad, and instead of bringing the Market salad from Chick-Fil-A, she brought the Cobb, just asking for grilled chicken rather than the chopped nuggets. So I didn't have the (known) 180 calorie salad, and I didn't have the (known) 430 calorie salad, I had something unknown in between. :annoyed:  I put it into my online calculator as 1.5 of the old Chargrillled Garden item, for 270. Best I can do.

So, AndyBFK, I am totally hearing you about estimating right now! Sigh! When we are dependent upon others (like hotel staff, or my well-meaning friend) rather than absolute counts, we lose track, and if we are estimating we so often are UNDERestimating, through no fault of our own. I realize it would probably be difficult, but could you just search out different chain restaurants for your UDs on the road? Maybe there could still be variety while having definite calorie counts?

At this point I'm at 420 calories. No sour cream for my potatoes tonight!

I went for a higher dd today... As above, then
Salad w/ chicken about 7 oz ...
Some carrots and ff yogurt dip
Strawberries with Splenda and a small scoop of rhubarb froyo.

Counting actual numbers resumes with a great UD tomorrow!

pinacoladas 06-24-2013 06:07 PM

B - small cup o joe with hwc
L - 4 squares of Lindt mint chocolate and Pure Protein peanut butter protein bar
D - one beef patty on wheat bran/flax bun with one slice of cheese
that's all for today. I may be slightly under cals however the chocolate has sugar which I normally avoid more so than anything else so I'm going to call it a night. Skipping breakfast is great when I know I have leftovers to eat for dinner. I hate seeing them go bad just because it's a DD
:dunno:

Also RE: Blueberry Tea... Tetley surprisingly enough makes a blueberry tea that is fantastic with a bit of cream and stevia! It's dirt cheap and tastes like a real treat with no caffeine or sugar added and next to no calories. Very comforting when winding down in the evening :)

Nice to see that yours is going well and that the potatoes haven't caused any untoward BG perturbations. Wendy's Chili is on the list of things I want to sample when next in the US :)

I would loathe having to estimate as it's so difficult to judge quantity sizes in a made dish and having to guess the recipe is a pest as different ingredients and cooking methods can make such a difference.

Magic pops always sound like such a fun item. They also seem readily adaptable to various toppings so that's another thing that I'd like to try.

Thank you and (as above) couldn't agree more. By and large we don't have much restaurant/food chain labelling in the UK and it makes the whole business more of a hazard than it's worth. If DH has business travel for a week and he's driving rather than flying then we plan his food and he brings it with him. It's a pest because it mostly means cold evening meals but restaurants and take-always were making him pack on the lbs for a while.

Sounds eminently sensible about the chocolate. I'm still learning what I can and can't eat with the MCT oil. I know what you mean about the left overs as not everything is suited to freezing or dehydration and I loathe the idea of food waste.
