That's the one I got too, by recommendation of a health food store staff member.

Earlier I think that it did curb my hunger for about two hours, but I'm not sure whether any hot drink with cream would have done the same? I should compare by trying it on a normal down day ... today I'm having most of my calories coming from cream which is different than my norm.

I noticed a bit of energy, but I wasn't wowed by it or anything. I am in love with the flavor, though. Will report back as I experiment more. About to have my third cup of the day.

Criu Bru seems to be at least $1/oz.

"Raw" cocoa nibs or even whole beans seem to be more widely available and can cost significantly less; they could be roasted at home and ground in a coffee grinder.

There's also a 4.4lb package (if you REALLY love this stuff, or want to split it with someone) roasted cocoa nibs from Scharffen Berger for about $40 (on A), so that comes to 57cents/oz.

Cocoa nibs have been around as a snack for a few years, and while some are labeled "raw" (Nativas Naturals), I think the ones that aren't might be roasted already. Taza Chocolate and Theo Chocolate's nibs are roasted, for example.

Great info PJ!!

so as to hunger, my observations: If I haven't eaten in awhile, a cup of Bru doesn't seem to hold me for more than an hour. However, if I have eaten, but still have the "noshy hungries" a Cup of Bru totally kills that feeling and I can go a long long time. Maybe any hot liquid would have that effect, but the feeling I get from the Bru is much more pleasant.

15 cents per oz would mean the 12 oz package costs $1.80.
I can only find prices like $13.99 for 12 oz ($1.17/oz) and $25 for 1.5lbs/24oz ($1.04/oz);
even the 5lb (80oz) package is $80.28 and about $1.00/oz.
Some of the prices on Crio Bru website are a bit cheaper than A but the best deals I could find still come to $0.76-0.91/oz.

I'd love to try it for $1.80!

You know... It says 15 cents an oz in the break down, but the price is 13.99 so their math is a bit questionable to say the least...

Ah, I see it now (I'd foolishly set a postage limit of £10 and I see that the postage on this is around $17 which is why it wasn't listed for me.)

I think that I might try something like this with toasted nibs that are available in the UK and the next time that DH is on a trip to the US I'll see if he can purchase the crio bru for me so that I can compare it.

That's good stuff! It's UD for me, but I wanted to try it...definitely more of a tea buzz, I'll see about the appetite part tomorrow...I think it would indeed be good with the coconut oil. It is for sure easy on the stomach, I've had to give up coffee because it irritates mine, this doesn't.

I don't love it. It's OK, but I prefer coffee or tea- especially my David's Tea.

Carly, I'm surprised ... I thought that with cocoa canela one of your favorite teas you'd love it! But cocoa canela is less pricey (or is it? size for size?) If it is, that's a good thing.

I should have updated this to say that the toasted cocoa nibs and cocoa are pleasant ways of topping up my MCT oil intake (and upping my antioxidants) - although I should now be looking at iced drinks for this with temperatures in excess of 30C.

So far, I've only had the Crio Bru with a tablespoon of heavy cream and a pack of truvia, and I think it is amazing that way.

I was drinking it black with 1 Splenda, which is how I drink tea, but maybe it needs creamer
