DD Monday: menus and plans

I'm on bed rest today until the welling from the kayak injury decreases. I've been I'll after taking some pain relief so my menus are subject to change.

B coffee with MCT oil and sunflower lecithin (158kcals)

L cocoa with unsweetened almond milk, MCT and lecithin (250kcals)

D Shirataki noodles with griddled peppers and charred aubergine (60kcals)

Total 468kcals which is within maintenance limits for a DD. I may need to add in some sugar or snacks to buffer the pain relief and reduce nausea.

You mentioned kyaking, but I didn't know you got hurt. What happened!? I'm really sorry! Hopefully you'll heal soon.

Today I'm having HWC in my coffee and a protein and veggie for dinner. I'm going with a friend to Whole Foods this evening and we'll have their food bar.

DH is starting on 6:1 today, he doesn't need to lose any weight hence only doing 6:1 but he hopes he will reap some of the health benefits of regular fasting. Will be interesting to see how he gets on with his first DD

Sorry to hear you were injured, SS! I know how much you like kayaking, so it's too bad you're now on bed rest.

I'm not entirely sure about food today. I am still feeling under the weather. I've been coughing all night, resulting in only two hours' broken sleep. Now I'm nauseated and ultra sleepy. I am aiming to make it through work today so I can go home and go back to bed. Only 8.5 hours to go!

Slow - feel better. So sorry to hear about your injury!

Carolina - sounds like a well planned DD!

Evie - my DH follows JUDDD with me. It is nice to have someone along, even if just for 1 day a week!

Silverrain - sorry you are under the weather. I hope you have an easy work day and are able to get some sleep tonight.

Pooticus - sounds like a great plan!

Me, it's Monday! That's always a tiring thing! Too much weekend and not enough sleep. Summer break in full swing here.

Here's my options:

2 eggs 140c
cottage cheese 80c
strawberries 50c
salad 85c
chicken 65c

goal is under 600c so there will be something else added. Although I struggled last week with DD's, T/TH were each around 1000c. Saturday came in more like 700c. My weekly weigh in on Sunday had me down 3 pounds. It was a wonderful surprise! See how it goes.

Hi DeeDee - It's from Buttoni's Dumplings in the Recipe Help Section. I want to run the numbers but it looks like it's about 52 calories for 4 dumplings that are supposed to be very filling! Going to do the recipe now!

Thanks for the good wishes. I think the low temperature of the water meant that I didn't realise that I'd been injured elsewhere too.

I've been pretty unwell today as I don't tolerate even a low dose of an opioid at all well but it did serve its purpose in reducing some of the pain.

I might have chicken soup later, rather than cocoa - it depends on what DH can manage when he returns home as I can't go downstairs as yet.

I've never had those dumplings with chicken stew but I've had smaller versions with broth-based soups and even thinned, stewed apple (with cinnamon) and they're filling.

My first DD today!! I had Wendy's small chili (210 cals), Arby's jr beef and cheddar (240), and a small piece of grilled chicken and 1 bite of niblets corn... Around 510 calories

Thanks to all who wished me better yesterday - I think it helped! I was able to sleep with only a few coughing attacks. Feeling better today, and definitely more rested. You guys are great!
