UD Thursday: Menu and plans

Out to a live broadcast of a ballet this evening rather than weight training. I'm so stiff that it's fortunate I'm not going to the gym tonight because it would mess up kayaking on Saturday. The weather is heating up which is lovely but I can't believe that my head is throbbing as if I'm going to have another migraine (my face is looking bruised too so that usually means that I will have one). I'll go to the ballet if I have to sit there, covered in ice-packs, but my menu may be subject to change.

B: coffee with 1tbsp MCT oil (126kcals) and 1tsp sunflower lecithin (32kcals). Subtotal=158kcals.

L: shirataki noodles with PB2 dipping sauce (60kcals) and a selection of raw vegetables (50kcals). Subtotal=110kcals

D: grilled salmon (280kcals) with roast vegetables (240kcals). Subtotal=520kcals

Running total is approx. 790kcals. I need 160kcals for the potato starch supplementation. I may try freezing some chocolate cauliflower pudding to see if it makes edible ice-cream (if so, I'll take it to the cinema with some cocoa-dusted almonds). However, the calorie wiggle room would allow me to have a cheeseboard for dinner or to take some MCT oil to see if that helps the migraine (or mitigate it).

My day will be crazy and unable to plan! Kids' last full day of school today and I am helping at DD's class all afternoon. Usually I avoid all classroom party foods, but it IS an UD, so we shall see. Breaky is coffee with sf creamer and a cinnamon donut hole. I may just take DS1 out for lunch before going to DD's school to celebrate his big exams being over. We shall see!! After DD's party is an evening of activities again, too. Might be leftover Alfredo pasta for dinner! (I will measure it!)

Have a great day peeps!!!!

Hello, all!! Happy Thursday. Wow, feels like I've been gone forever!! Was on vacation last week, and then have been sick the past few days. Back on the mend and ready to get back to my routine.

B: Coffee, tbsp half and half, donut.
L: Popcorn
D: Undecided

Need to shop tonight for groceries (SORELY needed!), so will pick up some items for dinner at that time. Perhaps grilling is in my future - it's a lovely day outside. I hope everyone enjoys theirs as well!

I swapped out my lunch for an MCT oil boosted cocoa with lecithin. 250ml almond milk (35kcals), 1 Tbsp of fat-reduced cocoa powder (35kcals) and 1 Tbsp MCT oil (126kcals) with a tsp of sunflower lecithin (32kcals). So, 228kcals for this drink which is more than I'd planned for lunch so I'll re-jig other numbers if needed.

My head's still throbbing and my face is twitching so I don't know if the MCT will avert/mitigate the migraine. Early days, and this is why I'm experimenting with this.

Thanks, you guys!! I took the photo from the balcony of my hotel. It overlooked Lake Michigan - awesome!!

SS, I am sorry to hear you may have another migraine. I hope your experiment works out for you.

Hi All!
Hi Jen, I too just got back from vacation and then being sick right after it. I had the joy of a sinus infection right when my tooth decided to become infected. I do not recommend a root canal when you have a sinus infection. But the good news is the lack of eating helped me drop some vacation bloat quick.

Travel week continues-

B: A bagel w/ cream cheese and jelly and 2 strips of bacon
(something must be wrong with me, I ate breakfast yesterday AND today. This is seriously not like me, I NEVER eat before 2:00 even on an UD. I've also been starving on my DD's which I've never really had an issue with for the first few months I was on this. I think all the eating on vacation made my tummy bigger and more hungry!!!)

L: Meeting a co-worker for a nice lunch at a Latin restaurant. Scoped the menu and thinking the Ceviche 3 ways. Keeping light and fresh since I feel so heavy from breakfast.

D: Hmmm not sure. On my expense account so can enjoy something fabulous. Yet this town has such great food trucks and casual foodie establishments, not sure what direction to go in.

Oh, Andy, I am so sorry to hear that!! I hope you are feeling much better by now. My cold/flu (whatever this is, it's weird) is nothing by comparison.
