I'm holding out as long as possible today!

I'll make a gluc pud for 92 cals and hope I can wait till bedtime before I eat it!
That, plus the essential cuppas, should come to about 140cals.

Evie- sounds so light and yummy! I just read a book that the main character was called Evie! Love that name!

Flossyliz - WOW that is a super low day. You go GIRL!!!

Me , I have a massive headache today. It is the cause of SUMMER BREAK for the kids. They stay up late, so in the beginning, I trend staying up later than normal for me. I NEED my beauty sleep, so it kills me at first. Once we gel into a routine, I will start going up willingly at my normal bed time! I'm a in bed by 9 gal!

Here's my thoughts:

2 eggs 140c
Cottage cheese 80c
tomato salad 20c (not much left, we served it last night and our guest gobbled it up!)
pork chop 160c
strawberries 50c
TONIGHT: Steamed brocc???

Goal is under 600c

Good morning!!! I have a challenging day ahead...my boss's retirement party is at 3:00. I don't plan to partake in any of the food, but it will be tempting!

B-coffee - 150

I have cherries, yogurt, and WF chocolate dip...was running late and trying to throw some things in a bag to take with me. I also have a cucumber in the staff lounge, plus there's some watermelon, I think. I still like to know that I have *something* even if I don't eat it.

Plan for today is 500-600ish.

I also have protein powder at work. If I decide I'm hungry, I'll have a shake for breakfast (120).

400-550 is the plan today.

L- nothing (hopefully)
D- grits (2 packets=110 cals) or oatmeal with splenda (320cals)
IDK how this day is gonna go since I'm already hungry...
Hopefully, I can hold out till dinner since I like to eat the bulk of my cals then.

Peggy's bread with WF marshmallow spread (80)
Dinner will probably be zucchini baked with a blended tomato, herbs and spices for a low cal lasagna at (~40 cals)
Diet Root Beer and a blob of FF Cool Whip (50) for afters
I like to leave a 200 cal amount of room in the day in case company comes or we have treats at work and I don't usually make up the calories, but it's nice to know that I have some wiggle room =)

Mrs.Andi, if you have less carbs and more fat and protein with meals you'll feel less hungry, works for me

I really want to try this! I haven't used HWC since my very low carb days, so I can't remember how much it takes to make it as creamy as I like. But if I can get 2-3 cups of coffee out of it for 200 or so calories, I'll definitely try it. I like the idea of doing a sort of fat-fast, which this appears to be.

For today, sticking with lemon water as long as possible, will then have an iced coffee with half n half (100 calories) and some gluc powder pudding (50 calories) to end the day.

Today I am battling a lot of head hunger. It is going to be a tough day! Not even quite 12:30 yet.

I think I am going to stick to soup today since it satisfies me more than the protein.


I am going to try to fight the urge to eat until around 2 or 3 and have a cup. Have a second cup in late afternoon if need be and finish it up with two cups for dinner.


at 100 cal per cup that should be 400 cal max.

Went to Pure Barre this morning. Not sure if I will make it back to the gym for another workout.

We just got back from a short vacation, during which I did nothing but eat.

I was rewarded with a 2 lb gain, which I think is great! So, today is a much anticipated, and not at all unwelcome, DD.

2 corn crackers (TJs) - est 100 calories

chicken broth - 10

coffee coffee coffee


I'm shooting for under 200. We'll see. I haven't begun to eat yet, so I may not even eat my cheese and crackers and then eat two plain (no bread) Hebrew Nationals for 90 calories later, instead.


I'm intrigued by the coffee and HWC day. Do you measure the cream? How much do you drink per day? I guess I could figure that out on my own, based on how many calories you're projecting....

For me, I drink a 12 to 14 oz large mug with 3 drops of liquid sucralose and 2T HWC. Yumm! So 3 to 4 mugs that size would top out at 400 calories. Tuesday I didn't think I'd get my 4th budgeted mug in, so I had 3T in my "dinner" mug . Heavenly!

I think I may try that - I wonder what will happen if I go all the way up to 400 on a DD? IIRC, there is something different about consuming all ones calories in the form of fat like that, particularly liquid fat? Or am I making that up?

Hi Keira,

Here's the abbreviated recipe: Use leftover pork. I made grilled pork tenders this week so have lot of lovely leftovers. (so there isn't any mustard gravy).

Susie T's Pork Ban Mi Lettuce Cups
1 serving

4 butter lettuce leaves
1/2 cup cucumber, julienned
2 tablespoons carrot, grated
3 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons radish, grated
1 tablespoon bean sprouts
2 tablespoons mint leaves, chopped
2 tablespoons red onion, slivered
1/2 serving Great Roast Pork with Mustard Pan Gravy
1 lime wedge
1 serving DD Asian Lettuce Cup Dipping Sauce (2 tbsp)

1. Wash and drain butter lettuce leaves.

2. Combine cucumber, carrots, cilantro, bean sprouts, mint leaves, and slivered red onion in a bowl. Toss to combine.

3. Julienne 2 ounces of great roast pork leftovers. Add julienned pork to veggie bowl and toss with Asian dipping sauce. Stir to evenly coat pork and veggies. Divide mixture between 3 butter lettuce leaves. Squeeze a wedge of lime over all 3 lettuce cups, serve and enjoy!

4. Drizzle lettuce cups with dipping sauce. Enjoy.

Per Serving: 179 Calories; 6g Fat (28.2% calories from fat); 18g Protein; 16g Carbohydrate; 4g Dietary Fiber; 12g Net Carbs.


DD Dipping Sauce
1 serving (but it could easily be 2 servings which would decrease your cals in the lettuce cups above).

1/2 tablespoon rice wine vinegar, Kame
1 teaspoon fish sauce, or Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon tamari soy sauce, or coconut aminos
1 pinch stevia powder
1/2 teaspoon sambal oelek
1/8 teaspoon sesame oil
1 pinch glucomannan powder
1 lime wedge

Combine rice wine vinegar, fish sauce, water, tamari or coconut aminos, stevia, sambal oelek and 2-3 drops of sesame oil. Stir to combine. Dust with glucomannan powder and stir like crazy to avoid lumps! Let dressing stand and thicken while you make the rest of dinner.

Per Serving: 25 Calories; 1g Fat (40.7% calories from fat); 1g Protein; 4g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 3g Net Carbs.

Let me know how you like it. I use center cut pork chops and roasted pork loin leftovers for these as well. I just package up leftovers in 3oz portions and know I can eat a 1 1/2 oz portion of pork...if you cut that up tiny it goes a LONG way...

I also sometimes put angel hair shiritaki in them that I toss in the sauce!

Well, IIRC, fat isn't supposed to "break the fast" your body thinks its in. I think it's a YMMV kind of thing though. I don't see any problem with going up to 400, but again, YMMV. I always felt I could eat a lot more calories on LC/HF than my body "should" be able to handle - what with the metabolic advantage Dr Atkins always talked about. I think that's what ultimately got me into trouble, finally stalling out on LC - I think it's because I just ate too many calories and too much protein as my body got smaller, but my portions didn't. I'll look forward to hearing what you think if you try it. Have you checked out the thread CarolinaCoast started about this experiment? Several of us are giving it a try and reporting our results - you're welcome to join in!

I'm trying to eat a Subway salad now, and I know I can't eat it all. I think I ate all the stuff with calories though. Very good to know, Pami (about the gluc). Did you order it from Netrition?
