It's nice to have several of you trying this with me! Good luck with this CC and Mike, and yes SS, please do join us in your similar experiment.

I'll be doing the Coffee/HWC again today, and hope it's as easy and comfortable as Tuesday's was. Wouldn't mind having another decent loss again tomorrow morning!

Thanks for the invite, LCG!

I'm going to try this on Saturday - today is my DD, so I'll have to wait. But, that gives me time to pick up the HWC.

So far today has been over the top! I have had so much energy and my mood is almost manic. It's after 6:30 and all I've had is the cream, mct oil, and coconut oil, so pretty much all fat. It came to about 700 calories. (I'm in maintenance.) I haven't been a bit hungry all day! One tiny concern is with all this energy I probably won't sleep a wink.

I probably won't weigh tomorrow since I'm trying to do it once a week, but I should have some indication on Sunday. But the way I feel today, I don't care if I don't lose an ounce!

One nice treat today... I found diet cream soda at Walmart and had a glass with a tbsp of HWC. Yummmmmmy!

Not sure if I was due for a drop or if it was the HWC but I dropped from 199.2 to 195.8 after my DD. New low, very happy with it.

I felt good all day, but at 9pm I had 275 calories so far from HWC and 1 1/2 tsp coconut oil and I was definitely feeling hungry so to stave that off I had chicken broth for 30 more calories. My stomach was empty all night and I felt it and I kept waking up but I wasn't tired and I don't feel like I'm tired now, it was fairly uncomfortable and I don't think I would like to do it on a regular basis. But as experiments go I think I'll call it a success and keep it my back pocket for a DD where I think I need to maybe break a plateau. I'm doing a MD today at 1500 calories to switch Saturday to an UD and I'll be keeping it fairly low carb to minimize any bounce on both days.

After HWC DD #2 yesterday, I'm down another 2 pounds, so 5 after 2 of these DDs.

I still don't want to attribute it just to the HWC, although I'm kind of sold on using this going forward. Certainly not every DD - I think that would get too boring and hard to keep up. l

The fat fast thing has always been effective for me, and I think that's definitely helping. I also think I was due for a whoosh and this is my part of the month where I can lose well. But just out of curiosity I used a Ketostix last night and I have never ever seen it turn so dark purple - even when I was hardcore LC.

I'm excited the scale is moving again, and I'm feeling good, so will keep this strategy in my repertoire.

Wow, how interesting LCG! Whatever is going on, it's definitely working!! I often have only coffee on DDs, but certainly not with HWC. Fascinating!

Awesome loss and your MD is the same as my UD- totally unfair

How many calories are you allowing from HWC? Do you think it's do to less overall calories or less physical volume in your system since all the calories were liquid?

On Tuesday I allowed myself 400 but only wound up having 350, just because I really didn't feel like any more in the evening. Kind of the same thing happened Thursday. I told myself I could have 400, but was shooting for 350 and only wound up having 300.

I really don't know if it's the more calorie restriction, or if it's just my time to lose. I typically do have a pattern each month of only losing really well 1 or 2 weeks of the month - this may be it. I do think the "fat fast" aspect of it helps quite a bit. I know I was in heavy duty ketosis yesterday.

Tomorrow I'll probably have Coffee/HWC for breakfast and lunch, and then some roasted chicken for dinner. But we'll see how the day progresses. I sure hope I can get into Onederland this month, and maybe with a couple more of these days I actually can do it.

This thread has taken some interesting twists and turns! Last week when I was out running errands I bought new vitamins at CVS and immediately took one. It was a low day and I had only eaten about 80 calories worth of cashew halves. I didn't just feel nauseous; I actually got sick and that's not fun when you have barely eaten. Then, on another DD same thing, not nausea, but losing my lunch. I now believe it is only happening on the days I took those new vitamins with 100% iron. I had a few left in my old bottle, no iron in those and I've never gotten sick on DD or UD from the old kind . Well, phoooey. I got a great deal on those vitamins--BOGO plus a coupon and now I think I will only be able to take them on UD since they haven't bothered me when I've eaten enough.

Commiserations. I suppose if you can take them on UDs, they will last you a fair time but what a nuisance.

It may be superstitious, but I have crossed fingers and toes and I'm up for burning herb sticks if it would help you get to Onderland, LCG.

I'm taking my coffee or cocoa with an MCT oil boost and tsp of lecithin (lecithin is to emulsify it as I loathe the slightly curdled appearance of the oil droplets after I've consumed the foam). I've done this on both DD and UD for the last week and I'm now transitioning to 2 Tbsp of MCT oil a day (because MCT can be a tad cleansing until you adapt to it).

Anyhow, it may be a temporary blip due to the aforementioned cleansing but my weight today was 131.6lbs for a 2lb drop in 2 days (which is a lot for me), a 3.4lb drop in 7 days (ditto, I lost 1.2lbs during May after achieving a new low on 25th).

That's a lot of detail but I wanted to give the context. I'm pleased and shall continue with this experiment.

Oh girls, vitamins with iron in them cause me horrible nausea (all the time) and/or vomiting (if fasting). I am chronically iron deficient and cannot stomach the iron in vitamins. It's so common! bluck!!!

LCG, I am just so excited for you!!!

You guys are awesome, you know that? I never knew about iron causing nausea on an empty stomach. So I did an experiment this morning. It's a DD and all I've had so far is iced tea. So I decided to skip my multi and just take my calcium and D3. Usually the nausea hits about 1/2 hour after I take the supps. It's been an hour and 15 minutes and I feel perfectly fine!

So for now I'll skip the multi on DDs and hopefully soon I can get some multis w/o iron for my DDs. Problem solved! YAY!

Hmmm, maybe that's why I was never able to take prenatal vitamins when I was prego. They ALWAYS made me sicker than a dog.

As far as my regular multi, I've always taken it after I eat, even on DD's, so I've never had the problem again. *knock on wood* And I know I'm somewhat anemic, because I wish I had a dollar for everytime I've been temporarily deferred from donating blood because of low iron.

I think an important thing for so many of us, is to find the method of calorie restriction that works for us. I have never been able to eat low calorie every day over any length of time. But every other is working great. Likewise, eating a small amount of carbs makes me even hungrier, but small amounts of protein and/or fat, are great. So glad for you that the coffee with WHC is working for you.

Sometimes I want to smack the people who say 'just eat less'. There is no 'JUST' about it. If there was, I would do it! But now, 'eat less, using the trick that makes it work for you'...that's something I can get behind.

I have felt much healthier since I have gone low carb and primal, but JUDDD seems to be the technique which is making the weight come off. And I'm learning lots of great techniques to make the Down Days easy, and even enjoyable.

I don't take a multi at all although I probably should. Before my spine surgery I had to donate my own blood for myself since the surgery was 8.5 hours and they would rather give me m own blood back... I agreed but I was supposed to take these rx iron pills for a month before I donated the blood and for the month leading up to my surgery to help me take the blood back or something like that. One day, that was it... I was so sick. The surgeon said forget about it.

I got sick literally with those too, every time I've tried to take them. Even after eating, which was kinda worse.

Well, I got through my first coffee and HWC day and it was rough. I didn't get enough coffee, early enough, for the appetite suppression. We ended up going to a graduation party unexpectedly and I wasn't prepared. By the time we got home it was 6 pm, and I couldn't chug 16-20oz of coffee at that time, or I wouldn't be able to sleep. I did drink a cup, with 2 tbs of HWC - but it didn't help much.

I actually went to bed with my stomach grumbling.

I did have an almost 2 lb loss this morning, though, and hit goal with that loss.

I expect a bounce tomorrow, though, because I woke up feeling really dehydrated, so I think the loss was mostly water.

Either way, I'll try the coffee and HWC again tomorrow and see where it gets me. I'm going to make sure I have some decaf coffee or tea on hand that I can have at night in case I get really hungry again, though.

I appreciate this group so much, btw. I LOVE fasting, and so few people enjoy or support it. It's nice to be here.

Glad to hear about your loss, dessertgirl. Congrats on Goal!!! what's your plan for maintenance?

I didn't see any loss with my experiment, but the energy was incredible, so I will try it again later in the week, probably Wednesday or Friday, or both.

DG, when I do these coffee/HWC days I also drink TONS of iced tea, crystal light, and maybe even a diet soda. It fills in the blanks of time and I think helps a lot with hunger and boosts the loss. I hope I didn't imply that I ONLY drink coffee/HWC all day! Just that those are my only real calories.

Congratulations on hitting your goal!

LCG - no, I didn't think you drank only coffee and HWC. No, I've found since starting JUDDD that I really have to up my water on DDs - otherwise I get dehydrated fast. I'm not sure why that is, but it's been a constant since I began. I obviously didn't drink enough water (or anything else) yesterday.

I had to break my fast early today (I usually don't eat until 3pm) and started eating at noon. I just felt so weak. That's fine, I'll still try to stay in my UD range.

I really have no plans for maintenance right now, I'm sticking with my EOD rotations until I'm certain I'm staying at goal (I suspect another two weeks) and then I might try to transition to 5/2. Ideally, if I can maintain with 5/2, I'd like to fast every Monday and Wednesday, that fits my lifestyle perfectly.

After following this thread, I got a hankering for HWC in my coffee instead of my usual half and half. So for my DD on Sunday, I had a cup of coffee with 2 tbsp HWC and was surprised to see I wasn't hungry for dinner until 5 pm (normally I eat a bit of something at lunch time on a DD). I just might try a whole DD with coffee/HWC only. I much prefer not having to think about food at all on a DD - so this would help with that.

I have made a big effort the past week to be sure to drink a lot of water with lemon juice. I feel much better being well hydrated and the scale seems to respond better when I do drink enough.

It's amazing how full and satisfied the coffee/HWC can leave you, isn't it?

Saturday I had coffee/HWC for breakfast and didn't have anything until "dinner" when I had 3 oz of cream cheese (which was yummy by the way! I've always loved it by the spoonful.) 400 calories of basically fat. Didn't weigh yesterday, but this morning, after a very nice UD, I was down another 2 pounds. So that's down 7 after 3 of these "fat fast" days, and maybe more because of the UD yesterday.

Today I got busy and only had iced tea all morning. I'm having my coffee/HWC for lunch right now. Dinner will be tilapia sautéed in butter/olive oil. Not so much a fat fast, but definitely VLC. I'm hopeful for another new low tomorrow. I'm just itching to see Onederland. I realize this could stop working at any time, but I'm riding the wave while I've got it!
