Another question about switching rotations

Ugh, I'm so confused. I thought I had searched the boards and read enough to figure this out but I think I messed this up.i needed to switch my rotations this week. So I had my normal UD as scheduled on Saturday. Then I did a MD yesterday and followed it by a DD today (so I could have an UD tomorrow and Thursday). Now I'm looking back over the threads and thinking I did this wrong. 1- should an UD have followed a MD? Is that why I'm ravenous, headachy, cranky, and miserable today? :)
2-I didn't quite realize a MD was 60%. That puts me close to 1600 calories! Whew! I think I ate around 1100. Today I'm clocking in at 530. Should I increase my calories today or just go with it as planned?

I think I am making this too complicated but want to know the best protocol so at least next time I make a switch I do it better.

Think small, medium, large: DD, MD, UD. That way you'll have enough calories in your system to do a DD after that UD. Just do your UD tomorrow. JUDDD is forgiving. Don't sweat it. :-)

But if you are starving out of your head and feel like you'll fall over, make today another MD and then continue tomorrow as an UD. Hope that makes sense.

I have done it both ways. Don't drive yourself nuts. It's very hard to "mess up"!

I agree with Kismet. I've also done it both ways. You don't have to do JUDDD perfectly to be successful. :) 1100 is fine for an MD even if your target is 1600. You can still do your DD today, but if it's really hard you can make it a higher DD ... like 30%. It still counts as a DD.

Wow, that it such an easy way to remember for me! Wow thanks! It's so funny, but I do not have a brain that deals well with numbers. Law school, a breeze, no problem. Ask me to add, I'm still counting on my fingers. So, that is a much easier way for me to think about this rather than fumbling around with calorie numbers in my head! :)

Secretly, I'm just having an awful DD today and was hoping you would all admonish me for my lack of calories and insist I eat! ok well I just added another 100 cals to my day so I think I'm good.

I've done it both ways too, in fact my favorite rotations are M-W-F DD's, T-Th-Saturday UD's with Sunday as a MD, but the DD following a MD is sooo much harder than a regular DD after an UD. JUDDD is super flexible so even if you need two UD's in a row to switch rotations, it'll be okay in the end!

If you need to eat, EAT! You can eat 1000 calories today and be ok, if I can eat 800 and still lose! Even if you end up eating at UD calories, go ahead and have 2 in a row. You'll be back to rotations the very next day anyway. No Big Deal. :)

:goodpost: I'm clearly not needed here! :D

but yes, I think that's why you feel like that today, you weren't "well fed" going into it.

Live and learn. Relax, rejoice, rotate.

Yes, you are all needed here!!!! :)

No really, thank you all. I have tendancy to be a perfectionist and it's so nice to come on here and so quickly all of you talk me off of my ledge.

I did eat a little more. Actually, I think I waited to late to eat dinner (9:00!) due to DH working late and it was making me anxious and cranky. I was ok after having a real meal. And I still only hit 650 or so for the day. I know, I know. I have to learn to relax.

And as usual, woke up this morning with no hunger or interest in eating. Ah, so funny.

calichris 06-04-2013 09:43 PM

You did great! 650 is wonderful for a tough down day.
