This weekend

Looking at my calendar, I have a full schedule of going out Friday - Sunday. Should I just count Fri-Sun as MD/UD and get back on schedule monday with a DD? If I do this, I'll only have one DD for the week.
I really hate that I have to do this (seeing how I already messed up my week with a MD) but I see no other way around it...

Thanks!

Is Friday and UD or a DD? Try to make Friday and Sunday UDs with Sat. as a high DD. Use a MD on Thursday if you need to switch rotations.

I know what you mean, Carly, but, allowing for the surgery corrections, the curvatures etc., are you actually 5'2 or would you be nearer 5'4 if it were not for the other factors (IYSWIM).

Ignore this if it's intrusive. I've been thinking about it lately as post a couple of fractures etc. I'm about 2inches shorter than I used to be and there's no definitive answer as to whether BMI etc. should be estimated from your current height or your previous/usual height.

Friday is supposed to be a DD. So what's considered a high DD.....600 cals?
Thanks for responding, Carly!

As per your details from the JUDDD calculator. For me:
20% 1538/308
25% 1538/385
30% 1538/461
35% 1538/538

So, WLM has a range of 308-538 for me on DDs (a 'high' DD of 35%).

ETA: 2BoysMom explains it nicely: I believe I had an epiphany...my longest post ever.

I lost an inch sometime in the last couple of years. I'd LOVE to be able to claim my lost inch!

I'm 5'10" and hoping to get to 190!! I'd have to lose a limb to get even close to 150, me thinks.. I tend to carry weight pretty well, have a lot of muscle, and am "big boned".

UP yesterday went well. I was at a lake most of the day with kids and then had a late dinner. I hope I hit my calories because it seems to make the DDs harder if I don't. I am starting to wonder if I don't have some issues with dairy. I have had some bloating in my guts lately and it may be linked to a switch to half & half instead of my normal almond milk. I don't know if I can give up gluten AND dairy. How much is a woman supposed to TAKE!!!?!?

Bummer about the dairy Amy! Have you tried lactaid? That might give you a little leeway.

I haven't..hard cheeses don't seem to bother me if I don't go crazy, I am wondering if it is not the milk half of the half and half. I have considered trying cream but I am wary of the calories.

I was 5'2" last time I was measured. I grew to 5'2" and then shrunk under 5'1" due mostly to the loss of disc space, but also the curve. Right after my surgery I was restored to 5'2" and the last time I got my height measured I was still 5'2". That may have been 2 yrs ago so may have lost more disc space in the thorasic and cervical spine I hope not...

Hum... I wonder how much my screws and plates weigh? Not much I'm sure and they can account for my poochy belly!

! I had my success with JUDDD. I gave up low carb after the first month. I always had low DDs (under 200) but it is important to try to eat most of you UD calories most of the time. As you lose you UD calories go down and you want your body accustom to eating and burning as much as you can.

back SunshineGirl! I count every single day, UD or DD. I do this because I know I could easily eat way more than my UD calories, and stall my losses. Others have trouble eating up to their UD calories, and need to count to make sure they get them all in!

So i have a question for you all.....i went down in my calories to the 400/1800 for the past week and a half and gained 2 pounds, so on my last DD i did the 500/2000 again and lost .8 pounds
I work out 3 or 4 days a week doing aerobics and resistance training for 4-5 miles and wondered if i may not be eating enough?

Very possibly, Beebop, and how lucky you are if this is the case! Go with what works and don't worry about messing with it until it doesn't work anymore! Good for you for experimenting and figuring it out!

I have lost several inches due to severe scoliosis. By the time viable surgery was an option, age made it not an option.

I still claim my full height for calculations as the rest of me was designed for a person 59 inches +. I'm just all crunched together now!

Went shopping for some clothes today and went down a size in pants again....Yay!

Hm, I wonder if there's a difference between losing height because of loss of inter-disk space (hence all crunched or scrunched together) and losing some from your long bones (eg, thigh/femur). Hmm.

Congratulations on the smaller size

Sunshinegirl. I'm with everyone else on the importance of counting and also eating your UD allowance. Eat the UD to give you more options with your metabolism as you start shedding the weight. If you find it tricky, people are very helpful with suggestions of wine, chocolate, avocado or a smidge of coconut manna.

My impression is that JUDDDers have a complete mix of WOE within the JUDDD schedule, there is no preponderance of LC or not. As Nancy usually says: "JUDDD just cares about calories, it doesn't care about where those calories come from. Your body probably does".

I agree with the others. Keep doing what works for you and don't change it until you have to - the calculators are a best standardised calculation for the general population you represent. After induction and the initiation of the SIRT1s, you need to see what works for you and doesn't. More kcals work for you which gives you more options later in your progress, should you need them.

I agree never go down in your cal numbers until you absolutely need to, ie you've really, really stalled for several weeks. It could just be your body adjusting to new set points, and you'll start losing again without having to eat less calories.

Cindy, have you been drinking already? Thanks sweet pea! Love ya! (you, too, sweet LCG!)

beebop, listen to the other gals! DO NOT REDUCE THOSE NUMBERS!!! I tried to do that after going down about 20-25ish#, thinking that I was supposed to. Big mistake! I had to go back to my original UD/DD numbers to start losing again. Don't change what works girl! (plus, you get to eat more, woohoo!!)

sunshine, yep, try to get super close to the UD numbers, just like the others are saying. I used to have problems doing that, too. Find some higher calorie treats you love and add some in! Plus it makes you feel like you're splurging on your "diet".
