Thank you Dawn! I was inspired to try 5:2 because you and Carly were doing great. Unfortunately it didn't work out well for me. I have started to eat better on up days now. I use to eat whatever fast food I could get my hands on, and although I lost all of my weight that way, my hair shed tremendously and my nails were brittle and thin. I make sure to take vitamins on down days as well. Taking a gummy multivitamin on a down day doesn't make me nauseous.

You look awesome Dawn!

Um, I wish, but no... DW would be shocked... And I'm thinking highly suspicious No the pregnancy thing will take a lot of planning and some extra funds, but I do need to get moving. I'll be 37 in July. I think pooti is right about my need for more salt. I've been dizzy and I haven't had broth in a while.

I decided to stick with EOD rotations since my body likes routine, I guess.
Hi Tierra! It's so nice to see your beautiful face and see you posting. I was afraid I would gain like crazy on 5:2 but most UDs are kind of less since I'm not always coming off a DD if that makes sense.

Thank you Carly. Your avatar is gorgeous. My problem with 5:2 or 5:3 is when its time to have a down day. My down days are miserable. It's like I'm no longer use to them after 2-3 days of eating normal calories. With EOD rotations I get used to the cycle. My body is ready for a down day after an up day. Kind of weird, I know.

Hey, Tierra! Don't think we've "met" before, but HI and lovely picture!!! I understand what you mean about the DD being hard after a few UDs in a row. I fear it'd be similar for me, too. I'm skeered to try 5:2, to be honest. I love my Juddd so much.

Thanks Melinda. It's nice meeting you. Maintenance has been a challenge for me. If I keep my down days too low I continue to lose weight which is not good for me. I like low down days because it seems to help with my asthma and arthritis. When I was in weight loss mode I use to eat fast food. Now that I eat at home its hard to get my calories in unless I eat plenty of junk.

back Tierra! I remember your username from quite awhile ago. I'm so glad to see your beautiful face. It's too bad you don't feel comfortable on the 4:3 or 5:2, but no real problem, since you know EOD works for you.

Hi again, Tierra, missed posting with you! I haven't seen the new avatar either - you look great! Glad you are back. Yeah, everybody's different. Many say they just do best with EOD no matter what.

Hello Suzy, nice to meet you. Dr. Johnson says "a few days" and there could be trouble with metabolism slowing. I assume it would be different for everyone. Scott (Delta Big Boy) has researched it and feels safe with 2 DDs and says it hasn't caused him any trouble that quickly. I just don't think there's a "one-size-fits-all" so I agree with you that in addition to feeling deprived, we have to be aware of too little calories over days, depending on the person.

I think in maintenance, you could probably do 1000 calorie DDs, Tierra, since you're doing eod and minimize weight loss, or stop it. I think adding butter and coconut oil to your pan when cooking vegs and meats will add the extra cals you need without having to eat a lot of junk too. It's very easy to add a few hundred cals with a couple pats of butter.

I agree with Cindy. And don't forget to drizzle whatever butter or oil that is left in the pan over your food when done cooking to get all those calories. And way yummy.

Thanks for asking about me.

I'm glad you checked in Adi! Sorry things are so busy for you, especially during the hot summer, but I guess it would be the only time to make that happen.

I hope you get to go and enjoy your son's graduation!

Bored as hell today. I've mowed the front yard, washed and dried two loads of clothes, cleaned the bathroom, straightened up after bf, actually cooked lunch (which he said was yuck and didn't eat), and suggested going to a movie, which he shot down in favor of staying home and playing video games (alone). I guess I'll go shopping.

I wish I was bored... I need to sit, relax and do nothing, but alas I'm multi-tasking and have to speak somewhere this evening at 6pm. Less than 3 hours...

Hey Whitlin! Thanks for the tips Cindy and LCG. I didn't think to add butter or coconut oil while cooking. I will have to try that. Some down days I eat 900-1000 calories and other times I eat 200-400 calories. It all depends on how I feel. Today seems to be one of those 200 calorie down days because its 4:32 pm and I have yet to feel hungry.

I do enjoy a little bit of yard work, but I'm not someone who wants to toddle in the garden or plant lots of things that require a lot of maintenance. He rented Oz on PS3 and we watched it last night, so that was nice. Not quite what I expected (from the movie), but pretty good.

Relationships are kind of like that sometimes.
I'm kind of obsessed with all things Oz. I saw it in the theater in 3D and thought it was visually stunning. DW took me to Wicked for Christmas and that was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Cindy have you read Was by Geoff Ryman? It's the "supposed true story" of the Wizard of Oz. It's a fun, fast, read.

No, I haven't read it. It sounds good, so I will have to get it for my Kindle.

I thought Michelle Williams looked luminous in the movie. I wasn't quite as impressed with Mila Kunis...her voice is flat and acting is not that good...I could picture her in That 70s Show the whole time lol. She seems to have to "stretch" for an attempt at dramatic lines/parts.

Well I agree that the acting was not the best, but it was a fun movie. I'm sure the large screen and 3D helped the visual effects as well.

Thank you SlowSure and Pooticus. This JUDDD group has been a big support in my weight loss journey. I'm trying to get my sister to join. She has been trying to lose weight for a very long time but strict diets that don't allow carbohydrates are a challenge for her. My mom started JUDDDing after seeing my results.

Off to see Man of Steel with DH

I met a woman in Walmart yesterday in the fitness-clothing section. She asked what I was doing to lose weight (when I said no, I didn't go to a gym I just liked the Danskin line ), and I told her about JUDDD. She might join us.
