Guess I'm enjoying my "eating" days a bit too much. I'm happy and enjoying myself, so as long as the trend is down, I won't stress over the slow loss.

Same here, Lori (about a lb a month). I know it's because I'm eating too much...Just wanted to say to you though, you are definitely doing something right with all that exercise. That's awesome.

One of my tasks for today is to start a new batch of sauerkraut. Does anyone else here make their own? I love it. My last batch has been percolating for six months and tastes fantastic. I add caraway to it, but I'm always looking for other people's recipes to try.

A friend had way too much salad mix leftover after a graduation party, so I received a bag, and I'm going to try fermenting lettuce for the first time today, also. An adventure!

This is one of the JUDDD gifts I believe. The knowledge that we can enjoy life (read food, lol) and steadily see rewards is so wonderful. Glad your feet are working for you again.

Gosh Sirtain, I have never even thought of making my own sauerkraut, how brilliant. Do you have to make loads and where do you keep it while it is fermenting? I know fermented food are so good for us.

I usually make one cabbage worth at a time, in quart size jars. Although someday I'd like to have an actual CROCK. The recipe I use starts it on the counter for three days, and then you just store them in the fridge as they age. I have done pickled beets and carrots as well.

I'll let you know how the lettuce turns out. I'm thinking that will be a short term ferment, maybe to use on sandwiches and such.

My DH has been a contractor for 13 years - not entirely voluntarily. It's made planning anything very difficult as he's never wanted to take a holiday in case he should be looking for his next contract.

Anyway, he was offered a permanent post in his current placement. The post should have been confirmed in March but it was delayed and then we've had to go through yet another round of security and other checks.

He's just phoned to say that they're finally completed and it's confirmed that his post will be as a permanent employee rather than a contractor from next week. We're so relieved, I can't begin to tell you how much stress this removes. He's also been promoted - which is good.

Thank you all, so much.

Not immediately, but it means that we can plan a holiday. We can also think about projects that we've delayed for years because we were being ultra careful.

Not least, it's only a 2hr commute or so, unlike some of the very lengthy commutes we've had or the years when he had to be away working from S-F or longer.

There may well be chocolate almonds after tonight's dinner (for me) and a good single malt for him.

I am back on plan after a much needed break. Last round that I attempted to do JUDDD I had so many funerals to go to in a short amount of time I just was not able to devote my time. I do know that I have a problem with water weight. Me and BF went to a golf tournament and walked forever and my fingers were like sausages! Any tips on making sure you get that water in for the day? The milo that you can flavor with is good but sometimes the sweetness leaves a terrible taste in my mouth.

Sherri, I remember all the funerals you were experiencing. I'm so sorry for your losses. I don't blame you one bit for having trouble making any plan work during that time. I drink tons of iced tea sweetened with liquid sucralose, and recently with fresh lemon. I also drink crystal light for a change. Rarely do I drink just water. I know I should, but it's a challenge for me.

I only drink coffee in the morning and iced tea and water throughout the day. I usually have between 12-16 cups of water daily and don't put anything in it. I keep a 20 oz bottle of water on my desk and just reach for it periodically. It's habit now. Maybe just forcing it down for a while will help turn it into a habit for you?

Now, AFTER dinner, that's another story. Nary a drop of water crosses my lips. It's generally fermented grape juice.

SlowSure, that's just wonderful!
Enjoy your celebration and start dreaming of that holiday!

CindyK, the guy on the video really makes a mess of the demo! He obviously hasn't grasped the concept of a picture being worth a thousand words.
I had wondered when JBs said they preferred zucchini pasta to shirataki noodles. I had visions of them spending fiddly ages slicing thin strips ......
This lunchtime, I realised I couldn't have toast with my scrambled eggs because I have a cold sore and am avoiding arginine. The gadget is so easy to use that I just whirled out some almost instant courgette noodles, tossed them in some pesto and made a great base for the eggs. A wonderfully quick and filling lunch in about ten minutes. Ah the joys of kitchen gadgets!!
Sorry to upset you with the c word. If it's any compensation, you'd never have known there was any in the noodles.

You too Carly - though I confess, I don't know how you exist without t's!

So excited! I asked my boss if I could get a standing desk & he approved! No more sitting on my butt for 8 hours a day! I'll still have the option to sit, but I'll have a standing desk to use for most of the day! I feel my butt getting smaller already!

I am thrilled for you both SS, the commute still seems long, but it is doable. And double congrats on the promotion.

That's my mate!

Tskb, I am not good on unflavoured water. I will drink it with a meal or to take some pills, but we buy lemon/lime flavoured still water. I am glad you are back with us, I remember you going through all those losses.

Wow Lori, what a great boss you have, most would just ignore a request like that over here.

I had a wonderful dinner out last night at a new restaurant that has opened here just a stroll away. I had the 5 course tasting menu and was able to eat everything of course. 2 years ago while doing Atkins that would have seen me ballooning.

Today I am enjoying a nice cleansing DD. I really look forward to the 'empty' feeling when I have overindulged.

Happy JUDDDing everyone.

zzzzzzzzzz......Day 3 in a row of boot camp and it was brutal. We did the whole thing outside, which was nice, but SO MUCH RUNNING. I think my fast today is going to be a struggle. I'm hungry already! Sigh.........

My furry alarm clock got me up at 3:30 this morning. I typically stay in bed till 4:30 on boot camp mornings. I know a certain little ginger cat who will be sleeping outside if she doesn't adjust her clock!

Have a great day!

Sherri, water is such a help for weight loss.

Here are my favorite tips

Most people don't mind the taste of plain water as much if they haven't already had another taste in their mouths. A good tip is to drink water first in the morning. I always have 2 cups of water in the morning before I eat or drink anything else and I have a head start!

If you need extra flushing from water retention or just hate the taste of plain water, consider making Prevention Magazine's recipe for Sassy water that steeps overnight and will have a pleasant taste, good for flushing. (recipe at lots of places on the net)

Drink from glasses or containers that measure specific amounts. That way, you know how much you've had and you're not over-estimating when you really haven't had enough. I have some glasses that hold exactly 2 cups and that helps, plus I have an insulated travel tumbler that holds 2 cups. I don't fill them partially, but always full so I know which cup of the day I'm drinking.

If you think you'll get mixed up on how many glasses you've had, wrap a rubber band or thin hair band onto the glass each time you finish one.

Studies on straws (no kidding) have shown that people will drink more water if they are sipping from a straw. That info hasn't helped me much, but I pass it along in case it gives someone else a helpful idea.

Notice what hour is about 4 hours before you plan to go to bed and make sure you've had most of your water already. That way, you don't awaken in the night because of a full bladder and get discouraged about your good water-drinking habits.

Here's to smaller butts all around!

I do my standing at my kitchen desk...it has running water!

Good on you Lori! Can't wait to hear how it works!!! Does DR come with it?

Hugs to all you pretty ladies this morning!!!

I wanted to come and say:

Wassup beaches?! Cut I always giggle when I hear that in my head (um, yes, in my head)! But I didn't want to offend anyone!

Have a blessed day!!!! It's a DD here. I had a very bad up dinner last night. We won't discuss it...but today is a brand new day. Yeeeehaw!
