Wondering why after all these months I'm having the same weight 3 days in a row, after a DD, UD and another DD? Strange.....although it was 179.2, compared to 179.8 a couple of days ago. Usually I bounce more than that though. *Really* counted my UD today and amazed that I could eat all my calories in 2 cups of coffee, 2 cookies and a "junior" sized meal from Sonic (plus a small caramel sundae). I don't know how my UD cals went from seeming like SOOOO much to so little. Definitely going to have to start treating them more like DDs until the one meal I want to enjoy.

That is a great time for run/walk. That is a 7 minute mile. In my running days I did a mile and a half in 7 minutes 30 seconds, but I was running the whole time so that is really great considering there is some walking.

Believe me... I know how fast those calories go. I'm really glad that I don't mind passing up breakfast and lunch since today I had 3 munchkins, 2 chicken wings and 2 mozzarella sticks and that pretty nearly does me in for the day. I have room for a nice bedtime snack, but good thing I didn't want pizza at work with everyone else.

Thank you!! Yeah I know we can do the cobra route, but according to his paperwork from current job, it will run around 1400 a month. So we will just allow his insurance to go and wait 30 days for new one to start. Its cheaper in the long run really. Of course as long as nothing happens.

It is speed walking. If I slow down to much when the walking comes then my legs burn and I usually cant keep the full routine. So if I can keep a speed walk going I can keep pace when it switches to running again. I switch the walking/running as the songs switch. I do have pretty fast paced music for both going though......love me some fall out boy, bullets for my valentine, marilyn manson, etc etc....so yeah I can keep a pace going lol!!! The only slow song that I slow down and finish to is Imagine dragons's radioactive....

Feeling very discouraged today. Had a HIGH bounce this morning after a UD, DD, UD. I am almost 5 pounds above what I was on wednesday before my UD started.. meh.

On Thursday I had a 1000cal DD so maybe that is why.. hopefully I will bounce back down..

I was exercising this week too! Oh well back at it!

Sorry you are feeling this way ohcmb. Losing weight is so difficult. I think we have to forgive ourselves a little, because not many of us can do it by the numbers the entire time it takes to get to goal. Relax and know that another DD is around the corner.

Darnit! I wish that didn't happen to you. It really is so discouraging. Try real hard to realize though, that it can't be an actual gain of fat. It's got to be something like TOM, too much salt, exercise, haven't "gone" enough (TMI) or something. Keep the faith!

thanks that really helps! Ive decided I need to do away with the scale. I am finding my temptations are coming from being discouraged.

I think I am going to weigh once a week and have just my boyfriend look and let me know if it seems like there is a pattern of me going in the wrong direction after one week.

That sounds like a good plan ohcmb. Dont let the scale discourage you.

Try to keep those DDs lower though. Tweeking them is fine if you really need it, but, more often, the numbers the Dr J's site gives are the right ones.

I have managed to give myself a truly huge compression injury and bruise to one of my thighs during rescue practice in kayak group. The swelling currently extends most of the way up my leg and has added what looks like an extra quarter of my total thigh size to the width.

I'll be carrying an extra few pints of fluid while the swelling lasts. I look like some weird Camel carrying water/fat on my thigh instead of my back.

Ouch! Hope it feels better soon. Since I sleepwalk I often wake up with huge bruises and have no idea how I got them. DW says she's surprised I don't have more since I always walk into things.

Had another person ask me if I was starving myself. I told him what I was doing to lose weight and he said, "So that's all you're doing is starving yourself? Are you exercising at all? You could lose about 20 lbs a month doing P90x."

This is why I don't tell people. I just tell them I'm watching what I eat, and exercising. Which is true.

I guess maybe with a super extreme workout program like P90X someone might be able to lose that kind of weight but I doubt it. I've never done it but I know the theory behind it. I think everyone fancies themselves to be an expert. Who cares what people say, you know what work for you.

SlowSure that sounds like a nasty injury. You aren't having a good time of it lately are you? Hope it heals quickly.

Cindy, it is interesting how many experts there are out there isn't it? You keep on keeping on and the results happen. Funny that. And we are gaining health benefits while losing the weight.

Hi Pooticus, chat away.

I amd very happy today because my daughter Vicky is coming to visit. I haven't seen her for over a year since she went back to Australia. She arrives on 25th and will be here until 14th July. Love my girl.

Good morning all!

(((Slow))) you poor thing! You have had a horrible time of things lately! Are you still feeling terribly swollen and uncomfortable?

Kissa, that's wonderful news!!!!!!!! I am sure you are both super excited!!! Oh the fun you'll have!

LG, what a moron! People need to go back to following their momma's advice about keeping their mouths SHUT if they don't have anything nice to say. I think they actually feel like they're "helping" or something. <shrugging> I tend to do a lot of nodding at people and keeping my mouth shut. (and thinking about how idiotic they sound, at least I feel better!) He will change his tune soon, anyways. No one says one bad thing to me about the plan when I tell them about it anymore. It's fun! Wait til you see him again. <evil laugh>

I'm very swollen.I've managed the bruising from the immediate subcutaneous damage OK with Epsom Salts etc. However, judging by the size of the haematoma, the swelling and the tingling etc. it seems that I have more muscular damage than I thought. I'll need to monitor it.

However, I think I've just sabotaged my plan to reintroduce cycling. I may even need to switch to canoe rather than kayak as the swelling might take a longtime to clear and it would be impossible to avoid re traumatising the same area every time I got into or out of a kayak.

My mother said that, along with, "It's better to be Miss Remarkable than Miss Pass-Remarkable". To this day, I've no idea if this was a family expression or something that she picked up that was based on a WWII Home Security poster (eg, of the 'Loose lips sink ships' variety).

He said that is what he had done (P90x), so I said, "And you've kept it off?"
and his reply was, "No, gained it all back. My friend who was working out with me moved away and I lost the motivation. But I know it works!"
