Thanks, Tanya. Even though I only understand part of what you said I've already told my dd there's a post here she will want to read when she gets home. She will be fascinated, and will probably explain to me whatever I don't "get", lol.

Ours is a gaming household, although I am probably the least interested. Dd has grown up with a ddad who's thrived in the MMO world for decades. (Massively Multiplayer Online) His hand-eye coordination has been tested at a level of a man 20 years younger. I told him, funny thing, it did nothing to keep his hair from turning gray. Dd did an English essay this year on the differences between single-player and MMO. So, when you think of that kind of influence on her visually, it's understandable that she finds Sims to be an ideal outlet for creativity and imagination. She recommends it to everybody and speaks about excitement over new homes just like you do!

Sorry, I get my sim nerd on and just talk like everyone should know what I am saying lol!
I am not a huge MMO kinda girl. I like the whole me factor (alone and doing my own thing)....its my time my way as I tell the kids. My son is a huge online player, minecraft, all the call of duties, etc etc......Now hubby and daughter are not much of either. They prefer the real outdoor crap....lol!!!

I wasn't much for the early Sims games. Got a little boring lol. Are these new ones a lot more fun? You don't just have to keep tending your garden, cooking and taking showers lol? That's too much like my real life.

Oh my you would totally love the newer sims!! They can get different jobs, traditional or things like singing telagrams, life guards, designers, etc and you can go to work with them. They now have generations so you can raise a sims from birth to death....and you can chose the life amount like I normally play 100 days. They can be plain janes or celebrities followed by paparazzi (which is so funny when your sims wets themselves in public and it makes the paper!! All the sims laugh and they lose points, ok not nice in real life but funny in sim world!!!)

My fave sim is a bartender and has studied mixology to make all kinds of different drinks!! Him and his sim wife saved up money to buy the bar too!! I am gonna have them open a resort when the next EP is released on tues!! He can bar tend there lol!!!

Sims 1 did get boring but since then so much has been added that I seriously cant wait til sims 4 to see what they can add that they havent already!!!

Like with the basic cooking in sims 1 has expanded to you can learn recipes, search for and grow the ingredients, enter into a career, or enter contests or even use the consignment register to sell what you made. You can also travel to other countries to learn how to make things from there and bring it back to your sims town to sell!! Once you reach a certain level, other sims send you things that you cant buy ingame like a special stove.

Pets has even expanded and you can ride horses now!! They have it were you can be sitting by a fire ring and a deer runs through your yard......its really awesome and real to life now compared to the early years!!! Oh and a EA special buy allowed you to get a chicken coop to raise and get eggs from!!!

Seriously!! You should check it out!!! Or wait til march for sims 4!!! Its suppose to be announced and trailers to watch soon.........cant wait!!!

Hey Tanya. I use to be a huge Sims 2 fan. I played morning, noon and night, until I started working. I have been thinking about getting Sims 3 although I never got bored of Sims 2.

Carly-its fun taking out your frustrations on little pixal people!!!

ilahstrait- I love the open concept living.....as in, in sims 3 if your in a house playing, the world around you is still moving and sims are aging and doing things and you can watch from your window! Its so nice not having to keep loading families just to age them with the current family! Thats what really set it apart from sims 2! Most stores have sims 3 going on sale because of the announcement of sims 4 now!!

Oh yes!!! Here got to youtube and type in "sims 3 trailer official". You can watch all the trailers from all the ep's!!

I forgot to tell you too, you get to chose 5 traits that make your sims.....like a good cook, fear of commitment, eco- friendly...and so on. It defines them and they react to things because of it!! Like if you have a eco friendly sims they prefer to ride bikes, and if you put in a taxi they get angry. You can get an over emotional sim and they will cry if something is sad!! Just out of the blue!!! The insane sim trait is hilarious!! They really do things that are crazy!!! Sims 3 brought the sims to life and I love it!!!! oh yeah and sim that is scare of things.......will seriously pass out if you scare it!!!

I forgot all about generations and it bringing in video camera's you sims can use and you can make movies and watch later.....seriously little sims first steps you can watch at his wedding!! I thought that was just the coolest thing!!!

sims is fun. I always found that I would play it a ton for about a week and then get tired of it and stop.

all this talk makes me want to pick it back up!

I understand. I was thinking of getting the download, but I won't unless there's a code I can keep to do another download if necessary.

They give you something when you download, and you can re-download if need be. I am just old fashion with the disc's. They have talks in EA about going all digital, but so many other like me pitched a fit, so dont know what became of the talks.

I used to play the first sim's game and had great fun with it but then got the sims2 and I hated it and then just didn't bother anymore. I have the sim's freeplay on my tablet but it's real time and I can't fast forward but I believe that feature is gone anyways. But I love to build houses and decorate them and make my sims. Might give the sims3 a go though it sounds so much better now! I've been doing good on my DD but my UD are too high so I'm bringing them back down now. But I found out my coil isn't working as well anymore and that explains some of my moods and strange cravings from nowhere. I have an ultrasound next week but I just can't wait to replace it now!! But I've had no weight gain phew

DH came home today and announced that he'd brought me something for my dinner.

It's a DD, so I was a bit wary!

Since I bought the veggie pasta maker, he's seen me tucking into great mountains of yummy food.

He's bought me a 14" square serving plate. It's huge!!

That is so sweet (and funny) Well observed that man

I've never really got the hang of my spiralizer gadget - I ought to drag it out from the drawer and give it another go.

Looks like I'll have to order one if I want the Spirooli or similar. I see Sur La Table has a "curly fry" maker that might do a similar job, but it only does one size of spirals and slices, not the very thin spirals. I'm sort of an "instant-gratification" kind of girl, and don't like to order things, so I may pick that one up. I'm just worried the spirals will be thicker than I want.

My Spiralo has three blades - one for spaghetti, one for linguine and one that cuts long curls.
It's quick, easy and a breeze to clean.

I've read that Walmart do a cheapie that does fine angelhair. It looks a bit like a basket with a handle sticking out of the top, unlike the more pricey ones that look like mincers.

Sorry, must dash. I'll look for more info later, if you still need any.
