I'm going to try this, I think. It scares me to death to not weigh every day. Why is that? I still stall, but somehow think I have more control by knowing the numbers. Anyway, it's my plan to start weekly weighing after Feb. 1st. I just decided. Wish me luck!

I'm weighing almost every day. I took a couple of holiday breaks from the scale, but I thought it would be interesting to see what my weights were week by week since I started back at JUDDDing. December 19th was a DD and here are my losses/gains.

12/19 -0
12/30 -4
1/6 -2.6
1/13 +2.6 (why I'm askeered to only do it once per week!)
1/20 -1.6
1/27 -4.2 Wow! a couple of really low DDs paid off!

If my math is right, I'm down a total of 9.4 pounds since I re-started. It's fun to look at the weekly progress! But I will probably keep peeking and writing it down most days. Except after some UDs.

I make it 9.8lbs down Ignore the -2.6 and +2.6 as they cancel, so...
-4 + -1.6 + -4.2 = -9.8

Well done.

Yay, Yam-Yam! Although I have come to find the up-and-down of daily weighing to be almost restful, there's nothing like seeing a good solid chunk, the way one does after a week (or several!).

Well. I weighed on Saturday, making it two weeks since I weighed. I was down all of ... wait for it ... wait for it ...

.5 lb.

That's it. 1/2 a pound in 2 flipping weeks. At first I thought it was 1.5 lbs., which I was like ... okay, not great, but okay! Then I plugged it into my weigh tracker and saw that it was only .5 lb. Yeah, at least I'm losing. But c'mon. This is ridiculous.

Grrrr ...

Our body has to adjust, really.

I'm bouncing steady on fast 5 diet. Book says not to expect wt loss for 3 weeks---I say YIKes that would be had to see the scale not move for three weeks.

Thanks! I did something wrong in my math for sure. The scale she is a-changin'!! After a really good DD yesterday, it was up .8 this morning. That's what I get for weighing every day. But after going back and doing the week-by-week, I think my new strategy will be to step on it quick every morning and write it down. Then use the weekly weigh in number to chart my overall progress. Or lack thereof?

I think you are right! I like how you look at the up and down as being restful. I'm going to adopt your attitude. Long time ago I used to look at it like the ebb and flow of the ocean tide. I love the ocean.

I feel your pain, Sweetie. We need to dig out the old threads about "This is not a race." Just think what might happen if you were not doing JUDDD and just gave up? When I am discouraged about the slow progress, I think of that. Not a good thought! but motivating. If I just give up and don't follow any plan I gain. Big time. And fast. We don't want that.

You are moving in the right direction. A loss is a loss and should be celebrated! Yay for you for evicting half of a pound of ugly fat!

Good advice about the measuring. I have lost an inch from my waist and my pants fit better and I got some pants zipped and buttoned that I have not fit into in months. Sometimes when we are losing bulky fat the darned scale takes a while to register it 'cos it's so fluffy.

Yes it is. However, gotta keep trudging onward. Could be worse with the scales going up, up, up.

True, again!

Thanks, ladies, y'all are the best!

Cindy, I can't decide if I'm more annoyed at weighing or NOT weighing daily. When I have a little loss like this week, I'm wondering if maybe I had a bigger loss at some point and missed it since I don't weigh daily. Which temps me to weigh daily again. Which will, no doubt, make me want to throw the scale out the window when that blasted bounce happens! A vicious circle, to be sure.

Think I'm going to start a weekly weigh in instead of every other day. Last reported weigh in was 159.4 on 1/10. Will weigh in on Friday's.

159.4 1/10
159.0 1/17 I'll take it!
157.8 1/21 Ok, I weighed a little early, but liked what I saw!
156.4 1/31

I'd love to join you guys! I think weekly weighing is about right for me right now. What do you all think about starting a new thread for the month? ("February weekly weights"?) I'm new in this thread so I don't know if you like keeping it going month to month or not. Today's my down day so I'm going to weigh in tomorrow. It's going to be high because I had a rough week ... let's just say the PMS and the rocky road ice cream met and liked each other waaaaay too much.

My plan is to weigh in on whatever weekend day follows my down day and do scale, handheld body fat monitor reading, and waist measurement weekly.

2/2 - 201.7*, body fat monitor 40.1, waist 36.75"

*this is reflecting my PMS/rocky road collison. Should deflate soon.

I was up 1 lb. Saturday. Considering going back to daily weighing daily. Sometimes the not knowing if I unknowingly hit a new low kills me as much as seeing the blasted bounce.
