Nope, no clue! As of right now, I am just going to keep doing what I'm doing & look in to why I'm so miserable on UDs. I think I am going to try to be more open minded once I hit 135. I need to figure out why I'm in pain on UDs & then go from there. I am pretty short, so if I want to keep moving down to 125ish, that'd be cool with me. If I don't and just stick where I am, though, that's ok, too! I am just happy to be at a healthier weight and so appreciative of my JBs & finding this wonderful plan.

I've decided to go back to WLM, but at a higher DD percentage. With my experiments, I've found that I maintain beautifully on 5:2, and very well on TDEE - 15%, though I gain when I go over my calories. It does go back down, though, so those are both options for maintenance for me.

I KNOW!!!! I leave for the beach again on the 3rd, so I am trying to get down as much as I can before I leave. I am thinking it might be mid July before I can really get back going down and stay down. This coffee/hwc thing has been amazing for me. I looked back at the dd's that I have done it and the next morning the scale is always down at least 3 lbs. Of course, I am up after the up days, but it works out that the ups have not been as high. I am sure it won't continue that way, but it is nice right now.

Had to do quite a scale dance this morning. First weigh = 125.4.
Second weigh = 126.2.
Readings varied consistently between the two numbers. Maybe I should have averaged it as 125.8?
However, my face is thinner, so I know I've lost something this week. So I'm taking the lowest one – it will motivate me to keep today's UD in check too!

My own scale reads in 0.2lbs for Imperial but today was the day at Paddle Club when we had to weigh-in to demonstrate that we were wearing the correct flotation device etc. and it was so funny when it came in just on 130lbs and a smidge over 1 ounce on their balance scale that I felt that I had to quote the 0.1lbs as the centre staff were teasing me about it

I'm still in an open boat (a Kiwi) rather than a Kayak but it's such bliss to be on the water.

It's very odd to be playing Grandmother's Steps with your goal weight, isn't it? You're going through the same at the moment. If this keeps up, I have to wonder if you'll make yours before I finally and definitively shed that 1 and 3/8oz

Well, I don't count the decimals in my numbers so to me, you ARE at goal gf!!! I am just so thrilled for you!!!!!!!! What a wonderful thing that is!!! Do you feel like your about "done" losing or are you going to want to go a bit lower? Gosh I'm so so so very tickled for you!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!

As to the "grandmother's steps" with goal weight thing, yea, it is weird! It's a bit funny that the number means so much, too? I'm not quite sure why that is. At any rate, it's nice to be so close to something that you set out to do. Love to you, hope you let yourself FEEL how wonderful you've done & that you're there!

I was listening to another of Layne Norton's video log pieces, part of the title was: You're not smarter than your body. To some extent, it's aimed mostly at physique competitors and bodybuilders who do quite frighteningly dangerous things to game their bodies to try and drop fat, pump out their musculature etc. for competitions. His overall message was that our bodies are smarter than us, we have to work with them and science to tweak a few of the processes that are within our control amidst the tens of thousands that are happening. Which is a long-winded way of saying that he was quoting some very interesting research around sodium, aldesterone and holding on to water and sodium which made me think of bodies' last ditch attempts to seem to hold on to bogeymen weights and set-points.

Bless you for the dance because you're quite right, I can't manage my own happy dance for the time being.

Well, I don't count the decimals in my numbers so to me, you ARE at goal gf!!! I am just so thrilled for you!!!!!!!! What a wonderful thing that is!!! Do you feel like your about "done" losing or are you going to want to go a bit lower? ...

As to the "grandmother's steps" with goal weight thing, yea, it is weird! It's a bit funny that the number means so much, too? I'm not quite sure why that is. At any rate, it's nice to be so close to something that you set out to do. Love to you, hope you let yourself FEEL how wonderful you've done & that you're there!
It is the oddest feeling in many ways. It's taken since Jan 1st to get here although the journey started at the beginning of 2011 with a year long deviation from the path in 2012 (no good regretting that, it happened).

I know the scale means nothing, and I'd picked a fairly arbitrary number, but I absolutely had to make 130lbs (no decimals) or less to make my goal. but there it is, there would have been a niggling caveat in my mind every time I thought about it if I hadn't.

I haven't decided on my overall goals having wrecked my initial one in early June Like everyone, you get to your goal and then decide you'd like it to be your highest bounce but I'm wondering now about going along to get a bodyfat assessment and working on that rather than my weight as such.

I've decided to go back to WLM, but at a higher DD percentage. With my experiments, I've found that I maintain beautifully on 5:2, and very well on TDEE - 15%, though I gain when I go over my calories. It does go back down, though, so those are both options for maintenance for me.
