I'm continuing my maintenance break (started May 25). My goals for this month are to maintain and to introduce back some exercise such as cycling.

June 12: Well, I need to revise my goals. I can stay in maintenance but the kayaking injury means the cycling won't happen. So, I need a new plan.

I've decided to go back to WLM, but at a higher DD percentage. With my experiments, I've found that I maintain beautifully on 5:2, and very well on TDEE - 15%, though I gain when I go over my calories. It does go back down, though, so those are both options for maintenance for me.

Well, I can't say I am surprised about being UP this high again. Ended up just being one of those weekends where bad decisions were made and I am sensitive to sodium and carbs, so I'm not surprised to be retaining this much water. I am just frustrated and if I don't end up getting the anticipated Woosh I am so sure I am going to get the end of this month and end up with ZERO lbs lost this month (or even gained) I will need to seriously take a step back and look at what needs to change. I have some thoughts in my head about what I could be doing wrong, or at least better or different. But, obviously, something will need to be tweaked. Besides this weekend I have been on strict, strict rotations all month and have been diligent in posting my meals in the daily threads for accountability. Somethings gotta give, and if it doesn't, I'm not abandoning ship, I just need to take a look at things and figure out where I'm going wrong.

That way I can get below 200 and not look back!

Goal is to close in on Onederland, and get there this month or next. Continuing 35-50% DDs most of the time as long as it seems to be working. 1968-2225 UD/shooting for 650-750 most DDs, but up to 1000ish. May include some exercise cals if needed.

You know your eating patterns best. It's always tricky to work out how much sodium someone has taken onboard with a few carbohydrates because that seems to hang on to fluid in some people. I hope it sorts itself out for you.

Well, I can't say I am surprised about being UP this high again. Ended up just being one of those weekends where bad decisions were made and I am sensitive to sodium and carbs...Besides this weekend I have been on strict, strict rotations all month and have been diligent in posting my meals in the daily threads for accountability. Somethings gotta give, and if it doesn't, I'm not abandoning ship, I just need to take a look at things and figure out where I'm going wrong.
For 6/22 - just file that under 'Life happens' because it's too tricky to categorise. Dates seem slightly awry after that? As for the weekend, it will happen and the more so when it looks like we're not seeing the outcome we expect from the time and energy we put into tracking our WOE. I don't underestimate how frustrating that is and I know what a tricky time it can be as it seems like nothing we're doing is having a positive effect. Thank you! I am not worried. I am too busy being grateful to be where I am now! It is just interesting for me to note that 300-600 cals on a DD had me gaining. I will have to pay special attention to these things coming closer to maintenance. Might have to continue super low DDs indefinitely!

Patience Marika. A “flatline” like that usually means you're about to establish a new lower weight! Your clothes are a much better guide – the pants don't lie!

I've decided to go back to WLM, but at a higher DD percentage. With my experiments, I've found that I maintain beautifully on 5:2, and very well on TDEE - 15%, though I gain when I go over my calories. It does go back down, though, so those are both options for maintenance for me.

Dawn has a very helpful discussion of TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) in I won't be fasting for a while . . . - see especially post 39 in which she gives a worked example. I won't be fasting for a while . . .
