By the end of June I would LOVE to see anything in the 160s for encouragement.

Thanks, flossy, but I could easily see 140ish tomorrow since today is an UD. I hate gaining after DDs! (Another reason I try to completely fast on them!)

I went over yesterday on my DD. I usually stick to Slim Fast shakes and Lipton cup-a-soup on my DD’s, but yesterday I thought I would try eating some regular food (Smart Pop microwave popcorn at lunch and grilled chicken at dinner.) I had some Lipton soup with my popcorn so I was ok there, but at dinner it was just too hard to stop and I ate extra chicken…..I could have eaten lots more. I really think the hot soup helps to keep me from getting hungry and will probably be the route I need to go for now on.

Also had a little gain this morning, but I kind of expected it after those 3 margaritas on Thursday (plus TOM weight may start creeping up since he is due to rear his ugly head in less than a week.)

I've decided to go back to WLM, but at a higher DD percentage. With my experiments, I've found that I maintain beautifully on 5:2, and very well on TDEE - 15%, though I gain when I go over my calories. It does go back down, though, so those are both options for maintenance for me.

Thanks Beth! JUDDD was a great finish to my weight loss journey and helped me get off the final 15-20 pounds. And I think the intermittent fasting aspect has helped to target fat loss over muscle loss which is great. Just working off the vacation gain right now and then I'll be looking for a good maintenance plan where I can continue to gain strength and continue to reduce my body fat % without losing weight. It's nice to know that it works though and I can jump back into strict eod rotations to recover from vacations. I'll be going to the beach again in August and the a cruise a week later so I'll need JUDDD to get back on track after that because I don't restrict at all on vacation.

OK. So how do I figure things out so I can spend a week on a beach and then a week later a cruise? Does that come with JUDDD??? I hope so! sounds like fun - I hope you enjoy yourself!

If JUDDD works so well for you, as it seems to, why wouldn't you continue it for maintenance? I guess by any other name...you could do 5:2 and that would probably work great. I think IF is good for the body.

Debbie, popcorn has a very high glycemic impact, so that might be what triggered the problem. It's fine to eat real food on DDs but you need to discover what's “safe” for you. I suggest you have a look though some of the daily DD menu threads for ideas.

I've decided to go back to WLM, but at a higher DD percentage. With my experiments, I've found that I maintain beautifully on 5:2, and very well on TDEE - 15%, though I gain when I go over my calories. It does go back down, though, so those are both options for maintenance for me.

I plan on doing some form of IF, it might be JUDDD or a LeanGains style IF, or a combination of both. I want the advantages IF gives me health wise but I want to increase muscle mass and strength also so I just need to find the right combination.

June 12: Well, I need to revise my goals. I can stay in maintenance but the kayaking injury means the cycling won't happen. So, I need a new plan.
