I'm starting June with four pounds of holiday weight to lose.
Unfortunately, there's a birthday in my close family every week this month, including my own 60th. So, I suspect my goals will prove somewhat optimistic!

Goals: to get back to 124 and maintain under 127.

I'm continuing my maintenance break (started May 25). My goals for this month are to maintain and to introduce back some exercise such as cycling.

Previous low (May 25) 133lbs


June 1 135lbs (y'day DD)
June 2 133.8lbs (y'day MD)
June 3 134.8lbs (y'day UD)

Pretty stiff from Saturday (kayaking closed with an extended self-rescue practice thus we were tasking some large muscles, in cold water, on a fairly chilly day) so I think that adds to the general inflammation at present.

Best wishes to all those who today and my respect to those who don't see what they want nor what they should theoretically expect but persevere/come up with a sensible strategy.

Goal is to close in on Onederland, and get there this month or next. Continuing 35-50% DDs most of the time as long as it seems to be working.

6/1 - 207.8 - DD - (1158 cals, burned 1268? according to my online tracker? 2.5 hr hike in hills. Seems high, but even if it's only half that the net calories are in the right place)
6/2 - 206.9 - UD - (1989)
6/3 - 208.7 - DD

It's possible that higher DDs have stopped working, but it's kind of soon to tell ... it's only been a few days since your post "My higher DD Calorie Experiment" on 5/30. I know you were initially losing every day on higher DDs, but you were also coming off of a no rotation patch, so maybe now you're just doing normal bounces. One option is to take it back down from 900 DDs to 6-700 for a rotation or few and see what happens? I am still bouncing on higher DDs. My pattern is new low, bounce up, back down. You know your own body best, but IMO it's too early to panic.

Thanks, Chris. I know I haven't given it enough time yet, but feel like I may have jumped the gun, so to speak, on the higher calorie DD. I have only had 2 DDs that went over 800 since I started having higher DDs on 5/23, so 900 was not my target ever. I had under 700 yesterday and went down 1 lb, but I have come up from my lowest by 3 lbs and don't think I'll get back there by doing higher cal DDs. I really don't know, to be honest. It could work still, it could not work.

Well TOM has decided to start coming every other week, along with horrible symptoms and the usual 3-5 pound weight gain. This has become unbearable for me, so I'm going to either go back on the bcp or try progesterone creams to regulate it. Not thinking about weight loss right now since the water weight and inflammation gain are so out of my control.

You'll figure it out! I was going by your comment a couple days ago that you felt you had overdone it on the high DDs. You got down to 178.something on higher DDs, so I personally think you're just doing normal bouncing, but it needs a longer test. As you know, weight loss, especially on JUDDD, is not linear, so we have to look for trends over a week or two or else we will drive ourselves crazy. That's why I have "keep calm and carry on" as my mantra.

I ended May exactly where I started it. I'm hoping after TOM I can have an entire month of steady losses and get to Onederland.

I am so disappointed this morning. I had a good (higher) DD yesterday, had a lot of "output" IYKWIM (sorry) and was just sure I'd be down a couple of pounds this morning. Instead, I'm up a couple. So I measured, thinking at least I will have lost some inches in the last month. Nope, I lost in a couple of places and slightly increased in a couple. I just don't know what to do. I think maybe I'm panicking. TOM just finished up yesterday, so maybe it's leftover from that. But I'm wondering whether to go back to my calculated calories, or do JUDDD with LC, or just switch to LC for a few weeks. Today, I'll just have a normal UD and see what the scale says tomorrow.

Your numbers are inspiring. Can I ask what made you change to 45-50% on down days instead of 20% recommended. I am thinking it may be working for you better because of the excerise that you are doing.
