DD Friday: Menu and plans

Migraine for me so this plan needs to be a tad flexible. But, with luck, migraine will reduce enough by tomorrow that kayaking will be OK.

Meal at some point: white fish (100kcals) with Shirataki noodles and pad thai seasonings (35kcals) plus soy-braised aubergine (40kcals) and charred peppers (35kcals). Total=210

By normal DD numbers, I have a spare 107kcals which I may need for taking something with a painkiller. By maintenance numbers, I have an extra 400kcals or so, should I wish.

I have a glucomannan shake of white tea, SF peach & SF hazelnut syrup, and unsweetened almond milk so I can have some of that if I need it (about 25kcals per cup).

It's FRIDAY, I am very happy about that. Short weeks seem so long! Rain Rain Rain, we have had 5 inches since Monday. The pond by our work was really drying up...now it is out of its banks!

Here's what I have with me :

Green beans (fresh and crocked) 50c
cottage cheese 80c
2 eggs 140c
turkey hot dog 100c

Tonight, probably baked potato with veggies?

should come in around 500c if the hungries don't get the BEST of me! I will MAKE IT!

My last down day was pretty easy. Today I am already feeling uncomfortable...nibbling around the edges of "hungry"...

I still have some meatloaf cakes in the fridge (77 cal) and will either eat up to 4 of those today or make something with coleslaw and chicken. It will depend on what I am in the mood for later.

Targeting 400 cal or less.

Happy Friday!!!
I'm drinking my coffee w/ french vanilla creamer this morning, and it's already helping the hungry tummy I was feeling on the way into work this morning. I also have a HB egg, and a string cheese with me at work. I'll probably eat the egg around 2:30 or 3pm with some more coffee. I'm out of flavor for my water, so I am expecting that my water intake will be lower than usual today. Have to get to the store this weekend! Almost out of coffee creamer too!

Dinner - don't know what I'll be making for the family, but there is some chicken already cooked in the fridge, so I'll probably eat some of that with my usual veggies.

Sorry to hear about the migraine. I used to get them all the time and thankfully they have slowed down in the past several years.

I have a pretty bad headache myself, but at least its no migraine.

Starting day 3 today.

Protein Shake (100 cal)
Soup (200 cal)
2 Eggs (140 cal)

SlowSure, you've got so much going on, and yet you're still staying so active! My hat is off to you!

Cindy, Fridays off sounds wonderful - enjoy!

B: Coffee/HWC
L: Coffee/HWC, maybe Chobani
D: I can't decide - I'm thinking pasta, LC cheese, and maybe some diced tomatoes. Or not. Time will tell.

Slow, I get migraines too... do you take a preventative for it at all? Do you have a prescription medicine that works for you? I take one that melts on the tongue, seems to work pretty well for me, and for DH too. Happy to discuss (thought it SUCKS to get them )

Happy FRIDAY!!! Not sure what we're doing *tomorrow* b/c it might storm like mental, so we'd NOT go to wine country, and do a MD, and then UD on Sunday, go to wine country for "graze the bench" (multi-winery and food event) and then have people over for dinner.

OR-- we go tomorrow, UD it, enjoy... and Sunday with people over, just DD like normal and go with grilled veggies and stuff for dinner (meat for them, less for us).

Hmmm...sorry, it's just on my mind right now!

Today:
b: x - iced tea and vitamins
L: more iced tea (with crystal lite lemonade mixed in) and a 2nd ptero.

D: giant salad of arugula/baby spinach, with roasted red peppers (jar), lite feta crumbles, fat free caesar dressing, and 300cals worth of falafel balls (veggie patch brand, from costco.) So that's at just over 400.

Dessert: 6oz of cherries! that's about 100. Not sure if we'll have anything else also? lol

so that's at about 550.

So, today I've had 4 slices of bacon (120), two cups of coffee w/lite cream (70), a sandwich wrap (bread 90, turkey and chicken 50, LC 35, tomato and lettuce, 10), yogurt w/pineapple coconut mio and a handful of grapenuts (200ish). I have over 200 left and am having a glass of wine now. Might not have anything else but, might.

Wound up today with:

B: Coffee/HWC
L: 3.5 oz baby carrots, 3.5 oz dill pickles, 1 small apple
D: 1.25 sliced cucumber, 1 sliced roma tomato, a serving Dreamfields elbow macaroni with 2 LC cheese wedges and 1/3 can of Italian sliced tomatoes, all melted together with sea salt on *YUM*
D: 1 small peach, 25 cherries

I ate a veritable farmers' market today. I never do that! Lots and lots of volume and flavor.

Thank you, all. I'm thinking about asking for some triptans as I'm finding these migraines so disruptive. I used to have more migraines (post-concussion) and they've reduced in frequency but I seem to develop them when the barometric pressure changes drastically (swinging between hot sun and hail on the same day). Oddly enough, when I have the migraines, my face faintly bruises again in the same places that I had soft-tissue damage in the accident that caused the concussion.

So sorry, Slow Sure!! I hope you're finding some relief.

I ended up eating another fruit bar last night which brought me up to and probably a bit over 900. I only had one glass of wine, but think I'll be sticking to strict 600-650 on Sunday.

Ended up reading a ton online about the benefits of total fasting, so I ate nothing yesterday. It was easier than I'd imagined. I think eating just a little on DD's is making me feel more deprived than eating nothing at all. I think I will try complete fasts for DD's for the immediate future.

Stash, in your opinion, what are the most compelling benefits? I'm curious (and too lazy to do all the reading you did). I admire those of you who can do a total fast. I'm not quite there yet. I did have one day this week where I felt I could've done it, but decided to go ahead and have my DD dinner. Good luck!

Complete fasts scare me. Not that I'm afraid to not eat, so much as over-eating on UDs. My mind has finally calmed down about trying to get more and more calories in to compensate for "tomorrow's" DD on UDs, now that I've allowed a little more calories. I think if I started fasting altogether, I would feel compelled to eat too much eod.
