I am not giving up on JUDDD yet, but I am noticing the patterns.
I noticed patterns real fast when I was trying JUDDD. also real fast I realized it wasn't for me. I couldn't do it as written.

I started my own lower/mod. carb and calorie limit diet and have lost 3 lbs in 3 days eating MY normal everyday pre-diet foods. I am doing something right lol

restriction is a killer for me. I could hang onto atkins type/low carb for a while and lose, but not any longer. I had to find another way.

mod carb, limit cals is working great and I am not low fat at all

Mojo- I see he has 2 books. Your Food is Fooling You and End of Overeating. Which one do you have?

ETA: Ops. I know see you said it is the overeating book

I am also thinking of raising my UD calories. See this older thread Calculating UD/DD Calories
I need to stop feel guilty if I go over my calories. I think the guilt is also affecting my binging. The more freedom and less restriction the better is seems (at least mentally)

ETA: I have noticed if I eat more on UD that my calculator says, my next day DD is so much easier. So if I can eat up to 2000 cal on my UD I can see myself eating less than 500 on DD. Right now my UD number is 1590 and I feel like this is not enough. If by having the extra 400 cal on UD makes my DD a breeze and stop me from binging, I am all for it. At least I can have the option of having the extra 400 cal on UD, if I really need it (e.g around PMS time). My goodness, there are too many variables to try
Yeah, I had pretty good success if I went a little over and then follow it by a good low DD. My calculated numbers were 1690 and 368. 368 is pretty low for me on a dd, but If I ate around 1800 to 2000 UD and then had a 250 or 300 cal DD after I could see a difference. My problem is being devoted to EOD eating. I guess I was getting a little burned out so that's why I swithced to only having a couple of DD's. Adding the eating window just gives me that little extra and so far it's done pretty good. Slow, but still seeing progress.

I woke up this morning dreading DD then realized I was allowing myself a 600-700 cal DD, if I wanted it. Yay!! Immediately my spirits lifted. I did not notice any less of a difference in the scale with a higher DD last rotation. I was about 2 lbs down, but today I was not back to my previous high, but a lb lower.

Marika I can't remember have you tried 5:2? I was in the store yesterday and picked up Kate Harrison's book for $11. I mean you don't need the book as 5:2 is clear cut but I just like to read all I can. I would see it more for maintenance than weight loss for myself but again restriction scares me; although rules work for me.. go figure. Marika we can do this together. You....no honey...ever (or until we beat this addiction) and Me...no nuts...ever. By the way I've reached below my goal from the HCG round - at my slimmest ever - no rancid nut is going to pass my mouth with my new body

I think I could overeat boiled peanuts. I don't get them often, thank goodness! They were smelling good at the flea market today though.

Mojo- Congrats on the weight loss

I think 5:2 is great for maintenance. BTW, I got the End of Overeating book today.

Library Girl we are flying abroad in a few weeks and first stop is New York. I understand there is a smell of delicious roasting nuts on every corner? I will have to peg my nose a la sri lanka diet style On a brighter note I'm going to visit Whole Foods and stock up on anything I can't get here. Any foodies know of any place I must visit whilst in NY apart from Whole Foods?

Marika that is such a good read!! I bought the kindle version but have ordered a second-hand hard cover because it's a book I want to keep close and perhaps take overseas with me to keep me on track. It's probably one of the best books on overeating I've come across because it has a simple approach. The most complicated one was the Judith Beck one; I would need a month to study and implement it and some of the dialogue she has with clients were very odd; the clients sounded like children...

Mojo, maybe the part of our psyche that has behavioral problems, such as over-eating, is more child-like and not mature. I think I'd have a problem, however, with a therapist talking "down" to me. I have never been one for self-help books, or diet books. I can't through one and get stricken with boredom almost upon cracking the cover.

I envy you on your trip abroad!! That will be fantastic!

I missed JUDD and all the budds so I am re-starting today. I am sick of eating low carb every day I miss all the fruits and veggies that are in season now. I can't eat them on atkins but can easily fit them on JUDD. I will allow myself higher calories on DD if I needed and don't beat myself up if I have few UUAD. I am also going to incorporate 6:1 5:2 or 4:3 if needed.
It is good to be back
