what do you like about your body?

we talk a lot about what we despise about our bodies, but surely there must be something you like about it

you can be deep if you like (ie I like that my legs are strong enough to take me on beautiful hikes) ...or not (you like your eyes or whatever).

so I'll start.......I have to admit, not to sound smug at all, that I am actually quite happy with my physical self. My body shape is not curvy, and I like it that way. To be totally honest, I like having tiny "girls." I love not having to wear a bra if I wear a loose/baggy shirt, or I can get by with wearing a cami under other things. I hate the constrictive feeling of bras and avoid wearing them whenever possible (meaning when it is not obvious!!) Some ladies might not like this shape, but it suits me perfectly. I'm not very hippy, either, but I can throw on a dress, do my hair and makeup and look as girly as I want.

so what do you love about your bod? great gams? pretty toes? Sometimes it's the things we take for granted, too. A friend of mine was lamenting about her chubby fingers. I'd never even looked at my fingers as something to be unhappy with....so there are lots of little bits on you to be appreciated.

I really like my hands. My fingers are long and thin and I have beautiful nails that are always complete with a French manicure. Most of all I like my brain, which although I can not veiw it has suited me well over the years and comes complete with a photographic memory which is really handy with certain things.

I love this thread!!! Tofu, your shape sounds like what I've envied all my life, lol. I never had the girls but I always had the curves. Flossy, I know how awesome it must be to have waist definition again! Belts, anyone? Carly, I bet your hands are beautiful...I love a French Manicure! And, wow, you have a photographic memory?! I better be careful of what I say.

What do I love about my body right now? I love that it's getting smaller, and I also love my curves now. I can go without a bra as well, and do whenever possible (never at work lol). I love that my face is getting back to it's normal heart-shape, and not bloated anymore too.

ETA: oops, I was saying love instead of like.

Does hair count? I am a natural redhead and although I have often not liked it when I was younger (the wrong kind of attention) I like being rare. only 10% of the population are natural redheads.
And my hazel eyes go well with the hair.

I love Carly's answer about the brain and I have to say that too - I feel fortunate that this brain of mine is always curious and adventurous and able to bring me so far. Sometimes that can be taken for granted. And to copy Tofucheez also - I do love it when I am in shape enough to have a strong body to take me on hikes. I'm getting back to that and every hill I climb or trail I conquer I love that feeling!

What a GREAT idea for a thread!!

phoenix-

hair most certainly DOES count! I have hazel eyes, and have been dyeing my hair red/auburn for years to get what you have naturally (and it took far too many bad dye jobs to find the right color!).

that's what I was hoping this thread would do....make us realize that there are probably lots of things about ourselves that others find desirable and beautiful.....we just don't always see it ourselves.

Phoenix, I'm a natural redhead, too, and I've always felt it made me special. My grandmother was one of eight redheaded children, but I'm the only child or grandchild that inherited that attribute. My hair isn't "carroty", though. It's actually strawberry blonde. I'd also heard that a very small percentage of the world's population is naturally redheaded. Isn't it lovely to be born with something that sets us apart in a good way?

When I started reading this thread, I immediately thought of my hip bones. It may seem a little weird, but my weight loss revealed nice hip bones, and I feel sexy when I'm laying down and there's that nice little hollow by my pelvis. My DH admires it, too. (Hope that's not TMI, lol!)

What a terrific thread! I'm loving the responses celebrating ourselves

I love my neck and my hands for their elegance, my boobs for their sassiness (wasn't always that way, but I appreciate their beauty now, rather than trying to pretend I don't have big boobs!), and my legs for their good shape. I've always been grateful that everything's pretty much in proportion, no matter what size I've been.

Dayum, I'm a pretty fantastic 40-something!

I like my hands. I have long fingers and my nails are in pretty good shape (a miracle considering how I used to bite them) I also have a well placed beauty mark on one of my fingers that I think looks really cool. I have always loved my eyes. They are hazel, sometimes they show up totally brown, and sometimes they GLOW green (usually when I am overly tired. They were always like that when I worked 3rd shift). And I have to say my complexion. When I was younger I had acne from hell (my poor daughter inherited that from me) And I inherited good genes from my grandmother (87 years old and looks maybe 55-60ish) So that is DEFINITELY something to be celebrated IMO. And since I've been low carbing, I have had a small little beauty mark appear on my upper lip (think Cindy Crawford, but not as dark as hers). I don't play it up or anything, but I think it's REALLY awesome!! I used to hate my huge feet (size 11, used to be size 12 before I lost weight) but I like them now, especially that I can actually find women's shoes that fit me. Used to have to wear men's. I love my stubbornness. When I REALLY want something, I will follow through with it no matter what anyone says or thinks. (I quit smoking cold turkey because I really wanted to, I decided to low carb to lose weight because I wanted to) My good health in general. I very rarely ever get anything worse than a cold (again, thanks to eating properly) And my body in general because it carried me through my entire pregnancy without any problems (aside from morning sickness of course!)

My booty.

It's round and firm, and kinda big.

I used to HATE it but have learned ya gotta make due with what you've got.

I also like my collar bones, they are always defined, even when I'm carrying extra weight.

I can finally see my collar bones! I love wearling shirts to show them off. I have tiny wrists that I got from my mom. No matter how fat I get I still have thin wrists LOL! Also, the first weight I lose is always in my legs so right now I this one pair of pants I like to wear that makes my legs look super skinny and long (if I wear the right shoes). Just need a bit more work in my inner thighs then I think they would be really nice!

I am also a natural redhead with green eyes. My brother and I both had the same hair and eye color and my dad had black hair and blue eyes and mother had brown hair and brown eyes and they were older so people kept thinking we were their grandchildren.
I have one child and he is a redhead with brown eyes which we have been told is the rarest combination.
I have always liked my hair color since it isn't the carrot color or auburn but a really nice red. (in my opinion). My brother is now all gray but he looks like a platinum blonde and I was so excited thinking mine would also look like that when turning gray. Nope. Mine looks frosted or plain blonde but it sure doesn't look gray.

This is really neat.
I love my hair. Its one of the few things I'm pretty vain about. It gives me natural highlights in the sun, has great but not out of control natural curl but I can (mostly) easily straighten it when wanted.
Now that I've quit chewing on my nails, they are quite nice as well.
And I have cute feet. I dislike feet so I'm glad mine are cute.

Cool thread

I am like Kismet with loving my collar bones. they are coming out now. I love that look. it means to me the weight loss is finally showing

Love my height. 5'8 and it means I have that longer, leaner look when thinner along with very long legs which I love.

I also am more straight body type. I like that cause everything fits and the boobs are just the right size. Not too big or little. Don't want to lose any of the boobs at this point, cause now they are taking center stage as the waist gets smaller!

alot I like about me. but still alot that needs some work cause my old mind says 'if ya just improved this a bit....' ugh working on that

Brilliant thread idea Tofucheez! I think we were all needing something like this right about now...I know I am!

I like my hair. Another natural redhead chiming in here! I help it along and lighten it to a nice strawberry blond now, since as I've gotten older it's darkened to a bit of a mousey red/brown. I've grown it long, and it's naturally curly/wavy. It gets a lot of attention. And I don't care if I'm too old for long hair!

I like my hourglass figure, which has reappeared recently. It's still too big, but it's looking nice and proportionate, especially in the right clothes. I like that my girls haven't lost a lot during this process, and I hope they don't from here on out. And some new, supportive bras have really helped!

Right now I don't, but when I get smaller, I'll like my butt. When I'm thin it's a nice round shape. Something to look forward to!

Thanks again for this Tofucheez.

P.S. Stardust! You are beautiful!

I love red hair!

I have never dyed my whole head, but I always say if I did - I would go red. I am afraid of damage though. But I LOVE red!!!! And I love that all you natural red heads love and embrace it.

Even though I have dyed my hair black for the last umpteen years, my natural hair color is moderate brown with reddish highlights. I am now noticing those highlights (been almost 6 months since my last dye job) reappearing in the sunlight again. I am not sure whether to keep dying or go back to my natural color. I love my hair either way! Naturally wavy and thick.

Jackie/Stardust: I think you are perfectly lovely. I wish you felt the same.

I really love my eyes, both in color and shape. I love my mouth and smile. I love my hair, though I have to dye it to get the color red I like most. It is naturally light reddish-brown (I was born with white-blonde hair, but it gradually turned red/brown as I got older). I can't say I'm a fan of much else at the moment, but I'm working on it! The exercise I'm doing has been working wonders, and I'm excited to keep that up. Also, I might be the only one here who won't be sad if her boobs up and walk away! These things are heavy!

I love this thread!!

Ok, I love my eyes. They change colors depending on my moods...mostly they are blue-green, but they change to either really blue or really green at times!! My daughter says its freaky....but I love it! I also love my hair! Long and burgendy colored (bottled of course but naturally I have really really dark brown almost black). And my legs! I do love the shape of them, I am a runner and I have muscles that define them a bit and I can rock a pair of shorts lol!! Everything else depends on the day lol!!

I would like to be able to pull off red hair but I just don't have the coloring for it. Brown eyes & darker/tan skin doesn't work well with red. Plus I've heard from several different stylists that red is the hardest color to get to "take" because the molecule size of the color or something like that? And sadly I don't have the time or money to get my hair colored every 4-6 weeks. Store bought products turn my hair green. Its bad.
Anyway, I realized today while poking & prodding and wiggling in front of the mirror - I really don't have any cellulite. I'm not exactly sure how that happened but I'll take it!
Add that to the list of things I like - no cellulite!!
