DOWN Day--Thursday
 
I'll start since I didn't see a thread yet for today for DOWN Day

sticking to about 500


240 4 oz sautee chicken with giant salad, bit of ranch

200 broccoli/cauli with 1/4 cup alfredo sauce and bit of parm cheese

60 1/4 wild blueberries and 1/4 cup raspberries


tons of lemon water today to help the old system out :)

B - black coffee, ptero mid morning

L - 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon

D - Chicken breast, green beans, ptero

Lemon water all day. I've found this really does curb my appetite and of course get the retained water out. Coming up on TOM any day now, so this is sorely needed!

Total - just under 500

I'm thinking kippers today, instead of salmon. Maybe some yogurt. I'm meeting a friend who doesn't know about my ADF, and our visit will encompass lunch time, so I'll need to be on my toes. I can bring my can of kippers, in case eating becomes an activity, and be prepared for her to offer me something(she always has yogurt).

Me, I am mixing it up a bit this DD. I have struggled lately. My Hypoglycemia is getting the best of me. GRRRR So today, I am starting will FULL ON PROTEIN (once I actually eat).

2 eggs, cottage cheese 190c
Salad 85c or soup 160c
serving of the Tex Mex we had last night 260c

do depending on lunch, it will either be 610c (soup) 535c (salad)

I'm contemplating a potato hack for the next 3 days. TOM has me feeling SO bloated this time around, and I have a decent opportunity right now to do it. I guess I'll decide for sure tomorrow (UD) morning, but today will almost certainly be potato DD!

Lcg, I'm considering this too! I have baked potatoes from yesterday, cold, ready to go.

Not sure how to count the calories? I see one count for potatoes (flesh and skin) at 22 per oz.
another for baked potato, skin eaten, at 33 per oz :dunno: :stars: :confused:

Any ideas? These are just plain old russets/baking potatoes, nothing on them. Which do you folks use?

I haven't eaten anything yet today.

And in a move of freakish vanity :o, I'm skipping tea or other flavoured/coloured beverages bc I'm bleaching my teeth (dissolving strips), just a bit, before the conference starts, and I don't want to stain them (until I get there anyway) :doh:

Soren, my counter says 22.4 calories per ounce too, and that includes the skin. I'll probably eat some skin but not all of it. Last time I did the hack I got pretty sick at the end of day 3 and suspected it might be all the skins I ate. I think I'll try and fast all day and just have a big potato tonight for dinner. Tomorrow (if I stay on it) I won't count, I'll just eat until I'm full. Even today I won't worry too much about staying under my normal 390ish calories if I haven't had enough. That's what I did last time too.

I'm so glad DH has found something, and I hope it'll be the right place for him.

Let's rock this potato thing today!

Oh, and have you considered brushing your teeth with DE? It's gentle, but really strips off the coffee/tea stains like a miracle! I swear by it!

Interesting. Ok, I'm going with the 22cal/oz also (I generally choose the lowest cal version of whatever I find in my counter anyway :p )

I just had 5oz of cold baked potato, and some water.

Nope, hadn't considered DE for teeth. I use whiteneing toothpaste anyway, but I just do the strips 1x or at most 2x a year for some special event. I think 5 days of being in public with our company, customers, partners, etc, qualifies :)
I don't do too much b/c I have a chip on my front tooth that is "patched" and the bleach doesn't affect it, so if my teeth get too white, you'll see the patch. But even after 1 set of strips, I notice the change... I ususally just do about 2 days worth, not the 2 weeks that are recommended! :eek:

You know, I never really liked water with lemon in it either, but it's growing on me. It's actually not lemon water; I have a sodastream so I put it in seltzer and it makes it more palatable.

My lunch ended up being a MESS of what we happened to have here. We were out of lettuce and I walked before eating so I was warm, too warm for HOT soup...so here is what I did:

3 oz chicken
1/4 cup cottage cheese
6 cherry tomatoes
handful of snap peas

Then I mixed it all together! :hyst: how funny is that? It wasn't bad! approx 185c

Kim, I'll look into those. I already drink a gallon of water a day. I use a little crystal light in some of it.

Soren / LCG let me know how the hack goes. I may actually have a baked potato tonight....I have some brocc that I could steam to go with it! YUM

I had a questionable cucumber. 1/2 of one I wanted to finish.

FWIW, LCG & Soren,
I don't count calories (except for academic interest) on my potato hacks or DDs. Ouiz says 1cal/gram of potato so that's what I use. Just watch your fat...and its pretty tough to eat more than 5-600 calories of potato in a day, at least it is for me. Adi usually hits around the same.

Today is the best DD for me so far. I had 2 chicken broth during the day. Dinner is broccoli/cherry tomato/pepper/cucumber with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, very small portion of chicken and fish, and some coconut milk with splenda:)

Unless I wake up feeling yukky, or like I just can't face it, I'm going to do a potato "UD" tomorrow. No way I'll make UD calories, so I'll just eat what I want. I hope I can do a PDD Saturday too.

L: toffee yoghurt
D: homemade spaghetti bolognese

Looking forward to my 2 UD's now :)
