DD Wednesday - Plans, menu etc.

Feeling like Tuesday but here we are, at mid-point in the working week (I'm always slightly thrown by Public Holidays). Off to the cinema tonight and it's either Iron Man 3 or Oblivion.

B: 100g cod (100kcals) with feta cheese (110kcals), spinach and tomato (50kcals). Total=260kcals

I have a spare 57kcals so I'm planning to bring a little HM cauliflower popcorn and kale chips to the cinema.

adillenal 05-08-2013 03:22 AM

DD
B - oat bran, coffee with HWC
cold boiled potatoes for the rest of the day

Stardust 05-08-2013 04:54 AM

Tomato soup for late lunch and a weight watchers meal with extra veggies for dinner tonight for me today. A tad over 400 calories.

Scarlett46 05-08-2013 04:59 AM

B: coffee w/ creamer
L: HB egg, ham slices
S: string cheese, coffee
D: chicken, veggies
S: coffee w/ creamer

416 planned

Silverrain 05-08-2013 05:10 AM

SS, it certainly does feel like a Tuesday. How strange. I'm just happy I don't have day-later syndrome this week, unlike most others.

B: Coffee, 1 tbsp half and half, lite string cheese, strawberries (104 calories)
L: Lite string cheese, no sugar added applesauce (150 calories)
D: Unsure. Going out with that friend as I had to reschedule from last week. Will likely have a drink, which will take me up to almost 500 for the day. I know they have a veggie platter with hummus at the restaurant we're headed to, so perhaps I will order that and share it with my friend. I'll just eat the veggies. :)

Have a VERY happy Wednesday everyone!

Mamatomany 05-08-2013 06:12 AM

I made some oatmeal for breakfast with 0 percent Greek yogurt with a few blueberries and some coffee with ff creamer. I am Adi potato hacking this week until Saturday. Wondering what the scale will reveal Saturday morning...hoping to slide into maintenance mode? Only 3 more lousy pounds...only 3 :(. I should end the day around 700 cals. I can't eat lots of potatoes!

Hopefulsweigh 05-08-2013 07:03 AM

B-coffee with milk (34)
L-eggs and egg whites with a bit of feta cheese (212)
D-salmon burger with romaine (198)
444 cals

I couldn't eat lots of potato, either :) My DH is Adi Hacking (potato DDs following his 3 day potato hack) but he's managing to eat a fair amount more than I ever managed. While still dropping considerably more weight than I did, of course. :)

I have 5.4lbs to go until I'm at what was my original goal of 130lbs. I'll have another think when I get there because I seem to be about 5 inches broader than I thought that I would be at this weight. :o

Flossyliz 05-08-2013 07:43 AM

:hiya: I only need 3 lbs too!

There's some nice tuna salad left from yesterday.
So, I'll have that for dinner, with some leaves and cucumber for 267 cals.
Supper will be a fruity yogurt glucpud for about 108
That leaves me 30 for milk in tea.
Should come in at 405 for the day.

Higher than I'd have liked. Blame DH for not eating all his dinner last night!! :annoyed:

Never Too Late 05-08-2013 08:56 AM

Greetings fellow JUDDDers - hope you have a fantastic hump day!

DD Menu:

B. Cold boiled potatoes; blueberries
L. Green soup (pureed leeks, parsley and romaine)
D. Halibut, lettuce, NF salad dressing

Dessert: diet jello

tobelowcarber 05-08-2013 09:07 AM

B: x
L: turkey, bone broth
D: turkey, bone broth

393 cal

Yennie 05-08-2013 09:33 AM

I also only have 3# left to go...plus another 39! LOL, ok, I'm probably not as funny as I think I am.
B: Coffee w SF vanilla syrup & HWC
L/D: potatoes
Day 1 of my new 7+ day hack. The hubs is on swing shifts so no need to cook dinner for the fam which makes it much easier. Although he's so awesomely supportive it actually wouldn't matter. Just easier on me to hack when he's not having dinner at home.

Well my dd just turned into a more than md, less than ud! We were brought pizza for lunch with breadsticks and cupcakes!!! Oh my!! I won't eat anything else today and then pick back up with my ud tomorrow. Oh well, it happens sometimes. I just won't expect a loss tomorrow when I weigh.

deedee 05-08-2013 09:42 AM

pizza, breadsticks (with a dipping sauce) and cupcakes sounds like an ideal lunch Deborah. Impossible to resist!

B: had a doctors appt so I fasted for the bloodwork
L: iced coffee (feels decadent somehow), broth (100 calories)
S: coffee? gum? (allocating about 50 calories)
D: sf jello and ff whip cream (50 calories)

It was good, but I still feel kind of miserable from eating too much. I think I probably ate about 1500 calories

I'm not going to pretend that it's anything like popcorn, except in size, but it does lend itself well to various flavours.

Good LCF thread: http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/lo...r-popcorn.html

I toss my tiny florets in various asian sauces and then dehydrate them or roast them in the oven. I've tossed them in popcorn salt and vinegar and that works well. Between that and the glucomannan-thickened shakes, we manage to avoid the more unwise choices at the cinema.

TryingJudd 05-08-2013 01:46 PM

Nothing till about 4pm then I inhaled 3 stalks of celery, a light Greek yogurt and a few ounces of ham for 185 calories. I'll add another 200 cals for dinner tonight probably some Trader Joe's BBQ chicken and some green pepper. Hoping for a scale drop tomorrow - but what else is new???

SlowSure- would you mind posting the recipe. The link in the thread is too old I guess. Thank you!

Linda Sue's recipe is as follows.

CAULIFLOWER "POPCORN"
1 pound fresh cauliflower
2 tablespoons oil
4 teaspoons Mrs. Dash Table Blend seasoning
Salt, to taste
Pinch granular Splenda, to taste, optional

Cut the cauliflower into bite-size pieces. Put in a large plastic storage bag or a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the oil over the cauliflower then sprinkle with Mrs. Dash and a little salt. Close bag and shake until florets are coated as evenly as possible or toss well in bowl. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet (I lined mine with nonstick foil). Bake at 400 50-60 minutes, turning them over every 15 minutes. Bake until very dark brown, but not completely burnt. Taste and sprinkle with more salt, if needed, and a very light dusting of granular Splenda, if desired. The Splenda helps cut the bitterness of the charred cauliflower.

Makes about 4 servings
Do not freeze

Per Serving: 97 Calories; 7g Fat; 3g Protein; 7g Carbohydrate; 3g Dietary Fiber; 4g Net Carbs

That temperature is too high as written - it's better to start off at 350F and then turn it up to 375F after 45mins or so if it isn't colouring.

I put Szechuan sauce or similar into a bag/bowl and toss the florets until they're well-coated. the other option is misting them with an oil spray, roasting them, and when they're cooked tossing them in savoury popcorn salt flavours or vinegar powder/cheese powder/nutritional yeast.

For the dehydrator, chop into small florets and flavour, as above, then dehydrate at 145F for 1hr followed by another 4hrs at 115.

Kimmietoo 05-08-2013 03:03 PM

B- coffee with SF hazelnut syrup
L- protein vanilla shake w/ 1 tblsp dried tangerine peel and 1 tsp gluc
D- chicken broth w/ veggies and homade shiratki plus ham "sandwiches"

Mini rice cakes, cheddar flavor, with deli ham, ff cheddar, mustard, lettuce
3 of these is 100 calories

S- SF popsicles

Total for the day 370

total for the day 225

easy DD today!

tobelowcarber 05-08-2013 03:55 PM

Thanks for the recipe, SS. It sounds divine. I love roasted cauliflower, so I am sure I would love this one. Does it it get crispy without the dehydrator?

phoenix17 05-08-2013 04:05 PM

My DD is not really a DD any more but it is not TOO bad...

B: coffee with a wee bit too much sugar (the pourer poured faster than I expected). (30 cal?)
L: asparagus salad with a couple grilled shrimp, no dressing (less than 100 cal)

And this is where it went wrong: celebrating pending nuptials with some co-workers and gave in to have TWO glasses of wine. oh for shame!!! (250 cal)

AND I've been so stinkin' hungry lately (blaming it on exercise so not a bad thing) so I ended up eating some slices of chicken breast with hot sauce. (maybe 150 cal?)

So about 530 call - WAAAH!!!! and I'm STILL hungry!

The day ended like this:
B-coffee with milk (34 cals)
L-Salmon burger with romaine, burgandy mustard, and vinegar (198)
S-3/4 cup of egg whites (90cals)
D-salmon burger with romaine, asparagus, burgandy mustard and vinegar (210 cals)
Total - 532 cals
Happy with how the day went...looking forward to my UD tomorrow!:)

Cauliflower sounds delish .

I like jasmine tea: I some times have it with a little splash of kewra (screw pine) water.

Crunchy rather than crispy - but I never take it as far as Linda Sue's recipe (based on one by Mrs Dash) suggests so that might explain why mine might be different when done in the oven (which I have done when the dehydrator is full of something else).

I'm sorry you 're still hungry. I 'm torn between admiration that haven't been on a "Oh what's the difference now" eating excursion and being :dunno: :stars: as to what else you would call 530kcals other than a slightly more than you wished DD. In my book, those calories don't even get close to a MD so I agree with your assessment.

That's not going off-plan, that's scarcely a slight detour. :)

Thanks I needed to hear that! It has been one of those days. And those nuptials I was celebrating also mean I have to fit in to some dress suitable to attend a wedding by the end of the month. I almost turned down the invitation just thinking of a dress. how bad is that? UGH.

and I REALLY need to try dehydrated cauliflower!! I have a new dehydrator fro Xmas I have not yet put to good use.

Time to get this day over with and start off bacon tomorrow ;). Good night!
