Living the Dream, Did you log your stats in as a male? It's a common mistake!

I don't know your age. I got 387/1547 at 25% for you - if you were 45 years old.
Your stats calculate nearer a 20 year old male.

Yes, I'm 28, and I did use the female calculation (just double checked that!). Thanks for all the input, I'll adjust to the no excercise numbers. 1800 was feeling pretty daunting to me anyway considering how much food I've eaten and have packed up for lunch, but still had to cram in another 800! 600 is a much more reasonable sized dinner.

Thanks ladies for sharing your experience with mindset. It really helps to hear how individual it is.

Good morning newbies. Today is a DD for me and I am welcoming it, more an attitude thing rather than going over yesterday. My calories were ok yesterday, but had more sugar than I normall would - couldn't make up my mind between the cake OR the ice cream cone, so went with both. I can see where I need to think ahead to how much food is available in the fridge - since it's just DH and I and if I'm not eating so much every other day - much less volume getting eaten. Certainly don't want to waste the food - some things can be frozen for later, but not everything.

Tomorrow will be my two week mark. I hope to now incorporate regular exercise, since the weather is also nicer and it's possible to get outside more.

Yes, there is an adjustment period of figuring out how much food you really need/ will really use when you eat very little every other day. DW had not been JUDDDing for a while so now it's her job to eat the left overs, which she enjoys since I usually won't cook on my DD.

My body seems to be maybe settling in to JUDDD. It definitely likes the DDs better than the UDs. I have more energy, I'm in a better mood, I think I even sleep better on DDs.

I went way overboard at lunchtime yesterday (not calorie-wise though)... We had a cookout/pot luck at work and I tried a bit of everything. I was SO stuffed!!! I was so tired and lethargic after all of that, I couldn't work out after work... I couldn't eat dinner... I ended up with only about 1/2 of my planned calories for the day.

So far so good! I had my 2nd DD yesterday and this morning I'd lost almost 2# since starting JUDDD on Sunday. I'm sure much of that is water weight, but I'm happy to see the scale moving in the right direction.

Surprisingly, I agree with Scarlett about feeling better on DDs. I would have thought prior to starting that DDs would just be something to get through and deal with, but they've been really great so far. Definitely better mood and good energy. What an amazing program! It really does seem sustainable for the long haul because I can always just tell myself "You can have that food tomorrow if you still want it", and lots of times the craving has passed by the time I get to UD anyway.

This weekend will be the real challenge for me, so we will see if a good DD on Sunday keeps the scale trending down.

Happy Wednesday!

I'm on a DD and having a rough day. Ugggg.

But, what brand of bouillon is 5 calories? I found one and it's 10 for one cube? I feel ridiculous worrying about 5 calories, but when my DD is supposed to be 288 calories, I really want every calorie I can get.

Wyler's beef or chicken are both 5 calories. If you really want to kick it up a notch, a whole serrano chili is only 2 calories and a half of a chili makes it super spicy.

A really big serving of asparagus (5 oz) is only 30 calories and very satisfying. I had some last night and really enjoyed it. Also, you can eat quite a bit of celery (weigh it) for very few calories. Sometimes volume helps a lot on DDs.

Love asparagus!!! I can eat the whole bunch...yummy!

Awesome to hear some of you guys are loving DDs so much! It definitely can be hard on the tummy on UDs. I tend to prefer DDs myself. ( not the freezing all the time part, though...although I am cold on UDs, too)

Anyhooo, carry on May peeps! You are doing great!!!!!

I love to grill asparagus on the George Foreman grill. I don't put anything on it on DDs. Mayo on UDs.

Fresh squeezed lemon is delicious on it, any day. With mayo or butter on UD.

Happy to report 3 more pounds lost at the end of my second full week of JUDDDing, a total of 8 pounds lost this month - jeans now feeling much more comfy!

I have a great incentive to keep on the straight and narrow - my daughter is getting married in September next year and i would like a really nice dress, i should easily be at goal by then... Daughter is currently on a VLCD as we are going to look at wedding dresses for her in a couple of months time (end of July), she's going to stick at the VLCD until July and will then join me on JUDDD

WTG Evie! You'll definitely be at goal, and will have been maintaining for awhile by the wedding. How wonderful to have size and fit be a minor issue when shopping for your outfit!

Do you lose more if you do a total fast on down days?

I honestly don't think it makes a difference. I fast almost completely most DDs (had 16 calories yesterday). I've done pretty well that way, but I think it works for me because I can have a bit more calories on UD and feel ok about it, NOT because the fasting necessarily speeds up my losses. KWIM? Do whatever works best to get you through your down days easiest!

Thank's Flutter. I still feel like I am finding my way. Last year when I did JUDDD I did not count my up days. I was on another forum then and doing what everyone else doing. None of them have had the success that the JUDDD BUDDs have had. I did lose 7 pounds in a month.

I now have been on JUDDD for two weeks, with a stay the same for this past week. But I had 3 un-counted up days. They don't start out that way. I try to save my calories for a huge dinner and maybe dessert. But around three I eat, and eat, and eat..... Goal for up coming week stick to my numbers on up days.
Not sure where my will power sneaked off too.

I understand what you're saying. Sometimes by "saving" those early cals for a great later dinner, you end up ravenous and cram a bunch of crap in your mouth by afternoon. I get it! Maybe a small, protein laden late breaky/lunch would help prevent that? It has nothing to do with will power girl!!! This is about the rest of your life, you can, and WILL figure out what works best for ya!! I agree, though, for ME, counting both UD & DD makes all the difference. If it's not within my calorie counts, I (most of the time) won't be eating it.

Completely agree with this. Until you've been following your JUDDD rotations for a while (and not even then) it's difficult to know how to respond to 'head hunger', an urge to stress eat, or even (understandable) hunger if it catches you unawares and responding to it would disrupt your plan for the day.

Flutter, I've just noticed that you're within 9lbs of your target. That and your beautiful children.

Back on JUDDD after a short trip out of state. I didn't manage any DDs, but my food calories were within reason IMHO. I did forgo the scale today though as I am feeling bloated. Today is a DD and I didn't feel the need to eat till noon time. I was anxious for a DD today actually.

My DD yesterday was a nail biter. Oh how I wanted to eat too much last night. BUT I didnt'. My calories for the day were 415. I am slowly learning what fills me on a DD and when I need to eat to keep my energy up during the day. I am finding I do best with protein in the morning and a small yogurt for lunch. When I eat the yogurt, I can feel the pick me up. For dinner last night I had a whole bag of frozen green beans for 120 calories - with one Laughing Cow cheese (35 calories) and one slice of bacon (40 calories). It was very satisfying. I have never paid particular attention to calories in all the years I have dieted. Amazing to me how simple it can be to substitute foods with less calories, yet still feel satisfied.

I also received my order of Jarrow Ptero and took 50 mg this morning. I am excited for the health benefits it claims, as well as appetite suppresant and energy. So far so good.

Didn't realize this thread was here. I started JUDDD May 18. I am really encouraged by the support shown. I am coming from doing hHCG. I was successful the first few times I did it, but after my dads death, I just couldn't diet. My lowest weight was 194. I gained back to 224 and did another round of hhcg. I just can't do it! I found this site and decided to try the juddd. I am currently finishing my second DD. I must say after hcg this is liberating. I am only weighing on the mornings of my UD. I did manage to get some raspberry ketones and resveratrol. I am really hoping this works for me.
