Best wishes to all those who today and my heartfelt admiration to those who don't see what they want nor what they should theoretically expect but persevere/come up with a sensible strategy.

Several observations (some of which may be awry).

You've had 4 DDs since May 13 - for some people, this isn't enough to establish a trend as yet. If Johnson is correct about SIRT 1 (and I don't know) then without the 2 week EOD induction, it's unclear that you've stimulated this as yet.
  • It's only 4 DDs. Infuriating tho' this is, it's not really enough to call a pattern if that sort of 1.6lb fluctuation is within your normal electrolyte/glycogen/water fluctuation pattern.
  • After giving 4 massages, is it possible that you are a tad inflamed yourself and are carrying a little water weight today?
  • If you haven't done 2 weeks of alternate day fasting to set yourself up with the SIRTs that experienced JUDDDers credit for some of their success, then doing so might be helpful.

With luck, other people might have suggestions.

I am SO happy you figured this out! I've been reading back through some older JUDDD threads from last year, and it does seem like some people get the magic only with higher DD's. A little jealous of you all!

I'm sure my body is SO confused right now with having just come off of using hCG for 24 days LOL I do feel like I'm going to just stick with it and keep walking and at some point, I would think my body would have to catch up to my actions. Thanks for taking the time to respond and for giving me some things to think about!

I gained on 5:2 and 4:3 when I tried to see if I could do maintenance using those plans. So I am back to EOD and doing fine. Guess it doesn't work for everyone.

Guess maybe I am going to try EOD. My issue is the weekends. I can definitely do a DD on Fridays but Saturdays and Sundays are really hard since we almost always go out to dinner on Saturdays and Sundays in the summer are spent at my parents' pool with a cookout every week.

After the first two weeks I have always done lower calorie DD's so I can have higher calorie UD's. I also do some potato DD's but right now I am doing 400 calorie DD's. That works for me. I eat breakfast everyday but it is pretty much the same. 2 eggs, coffee with HWC
If I have a major function on a DD (rare) then I have coffee for breakfast and fast until the evening if that is when the event is. I rarely eat out since I don't like to so that doesn't affect my DD's so can't help there. And I am hard headed, and a cookout would not mean I had to eat over my DD calories. I like my new self too much to endanger my loss.
I was so disappointed that 5:2 or 4:3 did not work for me. I thought I deserved a break but not to be I guess. DD's don't really bother me so I will just keep on doing the EOD thing I guess for the rest of my life.

Weekends can be challenging for down days, but I'm with Adi, I just fast all day until whatever event it is and have a salad or eat smaller portions, etc. I imagine this will get old at some point and I may have to rethink/replan this, but for now, I just want to stick with rotations and get to maintenance. (and have maintenance actually WORK for me for the 1st time!) If you have BBQs every weekend anyways, the next one will be an UD and you can really enjoy. KWIM? It all depends on what matters most to you right now. For me, it's not the food, it's feeling better about myself and knowing the food will be there later.

I walked every day except for 1 in this 10 day period and I gave 4 massages yesterday on my DD which burns a decent # of calories.
I'll bet it's all your activity, and some fluid retention. I think it's a little early to know for sure you're actually gaining. Those fluctuations can be flummoxing.

Woohooo LCG!!! I love that you and Chris decided to go into "maintenance" and kept losing like crazy. Clearly when you get to goal you're going to have to figure out some other maintenance plan because this one will keep you losing! So happy for you ladies. I would not be able to be good at the Cheesecake Factory though. Pineapple upside down cheesecake is one of my weaknesses.

This is a great idea TJ! I feel like you've tried many other things, so why not see if that works? And if it does, and you get to lose by eating MORE rather than less? What a bonus!

vickismc sounds like you're back on track and will get rid of the extra water weight from those three UD's in no time!
