You're definitely shuggling around your lower numbers.

I am officially a fan of the maintenance break! I feel so much more relaxed on DDs. I didn't even realize how burned out I was getting until it hit critical mass, so to speak.
You are a super example of how useful these can be. I'm considering starting one from Saturday.

5/20 UD - 168.4 Yep, no surprise that I'm up after a great DD!
Overall, I hope the trend continues down: I'm impressed that you've achieved this after starting the month in 172 or so.

And I've been losing, so my body was obviously getting used to what I was doing and needed a shakeup. My DDs haven't been as high as I thought they might, or allowed myself mentally. Just that little added freedom has allowed me to keep it in fairly good control, knowing I could have more if I needed it. UDs have also been easier to keep in control. Whew! JUDDD always has something up its sleeve for us!

Yes! A stomach virus is not under your control, and I think this temporary bounce will be gone once you get back into your routine.

WOE: JUDDD Maintenance. Ketogenic PHD.
Start Date: 11 Dec. 2011 Restart 1 Jan 2013
Goals: to continue with my leptin reset programme and to reach 133lbs.
30 April 136.4lbs (y'day DD LRp)

May 1 136.2lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 2 136.6lbs (y'day DD LRp)
May 3 136.6lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 4 139.8lbs (y'day DD. LRp)

May 5 137.2lbs (y'day MD LRp)
May 6 137.6lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 7 136.6lbs (y'day DD LRp)
May 8 135.4lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 9 135.4lbs (y'day DD LRp)
May 10 135.8lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 11 135.4lbs (y'day DD LRp)

May 12 135.4lbs (y'day MD LRp)
May 13 135lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 14 134.8lbs (tiny new low: y'day DD LRp)
May 15 134.2lbs (new low; y'day UD LRp)
May 16 134.4lbs (y'day DD LRp)
May 17 138.4lbs (migraine)
May 18 136.8lbs

May 19 135.2lbs
May 20 135.4lbs
May 21 134.8lbs

More or less where I was 4 weeks ago so I'll need to do something before this saps my resolve. LCG and Calichris are both doing well with their maintenance breaks so I am actively considering one with a phase back of cycling (I miss it and it feels ludicrous not to do it during Summer).

Best wishes to all those who today and my heartfelt admiration to those who don't see what they want nor what they should theoretically expect but persevere/come up with a sensible strategy.

As per the exercise and 'starvation mode' thread, I think there are some times when our bodies refuse to cooperate with severe caloric restriction and moderate-intensity exercise. They pretty much seem to down tools and signal, "One or the other, not both". You've not been eating many more kcals from the sound of it but maybe it's enough to reassure your body?

If you ate 28,000 excess kcals during your break then that was quite the achievement. If you didn't, I wonder if you've got travel-related water perturbances that will settle themselves out over the next few days?

May 1 136.2lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 2 136.6lbs (y'day DD LRp)
May 3 136.6lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 4 139.8lbs (y'day DD. LRp)

May 5 137.2lbs (y'day MD LRp)
May 6 137.6lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 7 136.6lbs (y'day DD LRp)
May 8 135.4lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 9 135.4lbs (y'day DD LRp)
May 10 135.8lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 11 135.4lbs (y'day DD LRp)

May 12 135.4lbs (y'day MD LRp)
May 13 135lbs (y'day UD LRp)
May 14 134.8lbs (tiny new low: y'day DD LRp)
May 15 134.2lbs (new low; y'day UD LRp)
May 16 134.4lbs (y'day DD LRp)
May 17 138.4lbs (migraine)
May 18 136.8lbs

May 19 135.2lbs
May 20 135.4lbs
May 21 134.8lbs

More or less where I was 4 weeks ago so I'll need to do something before this saps my resolve. LCG and Calichris are both doing well with their maintenance breaks so I am actively considering one with a phase back of cycling (I miss it and it feels ludicrous not to do it during Summer).
.
Sounds like a great plan! If nothing else, you will have a nice emotional break and if you follow LCG and Chris, you may just lose, too!

Maintenance break for a bit! Plan: UD - 2000 (with option of adding exercise calories back), DD 30-60% numbers (600-1200 calories).

4/30 - 216.x - DD (115 - 372 exercise calories burned)
5/1 - 213.7 - MD (1325 - 518 exercise calories burned)
5/2 - 213.6 - UD (2300)
5/3 - 213.3 - DD (411-359 exercise calories burned)
5/4 - 211.2 - MD (1253 - 214 ex. cals)
5/5 - 211.8 - UD (2356 - slightly over due to cinco de mayo fun, but not too far over)
5/6 - 212.7 - DD (352 + whatever calories from tiny tiny tastes of a meal I was preparing for a friend recovering from surgery)
5/7 - 213.1 - MD (1439 [accident - got bad calorie info] -239 ex cals = net 1200)
5/8 - 211.8 - UD (?? I had some things that I had to guesstimate, but I counted what I could and think I was in/close to my goal range)
5/9 - 212.1 - DD (483)
5/10 - 211.8 - UD (2334 - 407 ex cals, net 1927)
5/11 - 211.8 - DD (535)
5/12 - 211.5 - FD (eating reasonably but taking the day off counting today)
5/13 - 215.1 - DD (312 - lower dd than planned for maintenance break just to counterbalance mother's day bounce, then on to the plan!).
5/14 - 211.9 - UD (1941)
5/15 - 211.1 - DD (656)
5/16 - 211.3 - UD (?) - see below
5/17 - 212.3 - DD (~700)
5/18 - 210.9 - UD (1974)
5/19 - 209.3 - DD (761 - 175 exercise)
5/20 - 210.5 - UD (2005)
5/21 - 209.8 - DD (target 600-1000)

Maybe it's time for a bit of a maintenance break? You've been dieting for a very long time now. Not just a week or two but maybe a whole month of maintaining?

I got really discouraged for a while because I basically lost 2 pounds from February to the beginning of May, and then I realized, the amounts I was actually eating I probably WAS in maintenance. And it was easy and nice and not stressful and now I feel energized to lose again.

Whatever you decide I hope you get your mojo back!

April End Weight: 208.0 - weight lost in April 6.5 pounds
May goal: 199.0 - optimistic yes, but I want to see Onederland!
REVISED: Starting May 11 maintenance break. I'd be thrilled to get back to 208.

5/1 - 208.0 - UD (2172)
5/2 - 209.0 - DD (383)
5/3 - 207.5 - UD (???) Had a late night peanut butter fest. It happens!
5/4 - 209.5 - DD (371)
5/5 - 209.5 - UD (DNC) I think the monthly monster is on its way...
5/6 - Hey all! Just wanted to let you know I'm still here cheering you on, but I'll be taking a break from the scale for the next week or so. I had 2 UDs (not quite UUAD but definitely unrestricted UDs) in a row, TOM is coming any day now, and I just feel bloated and puffy. My clothes are fitting but I feel huge. So I'm not going to look at the scale until TOM is well gone. Just a little mental health break, IYKWIM!
5/11 - 214.0 - DD
5/12 - DNW - UD
5/13 - 214.5 - DD (686) I'm happy with this considering increased DD cals and a no-counting Mothers Day yesterday.
5/14 - 212.0 - UD (2004) Now we're talking...
5/15 - 212.5 - DD (620) This is just right for after an UD that included fried catfish and ice cream.
5/16 - 211.0 - UD (1994) Lowest UD I've had in awhile and I was very satisfied.
5/17 - 211.5 - DD (735) Higher number freaks me out, but I feel so much better.
5/18 - 210.5 - UD (2015) Inching ever so slowly lower . . . . .
5/19 - DNW - DD (633)
5/20 - 208.0 - UD (2031) Back to where I started on 5/1...finally!
5/21 - 208.5 - DD (TBD)

May 21st- 141 My goal for this month is 140, and here we are 11 days out from the end of the month and I am a pound away from goal, I've haven't weighed this little in YEARS, I barely weighed this in high school, and it was NOT as easily maintained... Judd is the best!
So great! You must feel amazing!

Oh TJ, I'm so sorry! It's so so hard to keep at it when you're not seeing the rewards you deserve. And you have been working it hard. I'm a bit prejudiced right now, but a maintenance break really may be just the thing for you right now. Hang in there and stick with us, even if it's just for support. We want you to succeed!
