Start day for me :)

starting JUDDD today.

I been around here asking tons of questions before and the help you all gave me was wonderful. and I appreciated all the responses. all the previous posts ya'll contributed to my questions now has lead me to this decision.

I was atkins. lost 30 lbs. most of that was upfront at the beginning and quickly. then I stalled out. I mean to not be able to add 5-6-7 net carbs and top out like 35 nc for the day and not lose a lb? come on. not for me.
and the restrictive foods were becoming harder and harder to manage for me when I was fighting stalls/gains. ugh

so I jumped to Low Carb My Way. I did ok. lost a bit but my mind is on atkins in a way and I kinda screwed myself up in how to eat, what to eat and more. leaving on plan to start my own way didn't get me too far.

so floundering a bit. then I kinda came to the conclusion that I need real life food, but I need control and a plan to kinda follow to make the goal happen.


I can easily go a day without eating much. I do it alot actually but never in a scheduled eating order. So I figure I can capitalize on that wtih JUDDD.



so today was 240 salad with bit of chicken. (got out the food scale and marked every single calorie that went in that salad)
tonight I have 210 for dinner. (bit of chicken, broccoli and tad of alfredo sauce for flavor) and I can easily do my 500 calorie day.


while I know I eat what I want, I will still be in control on up days. certain foods I can't let back into my life, but the bit more freedom I will be allowed should make me very happy on this plan.

I will track and mark progress for 1 month straight. one month committed to the max.

Trigger! I came from low carb too, and have just now hit the point where I've lost more on JUDDD than LC. I think you're smart to give yourself a full month to see what JUDDD can really do for you.

Your story sounds familiar, especially the "sometimes i just don't eat" part. It should go well for you then, so many people feel miserable missing one meal and have a struggle on DDs.

this is one of the nicest forum categories. the people who post here are so supportive and friendly. I love that about ya'll!



yea I eat funny. many days I don't start eating til 1-3pm. I am not an early eater. So I realized I have to make this an advantage.
all plans say eat breakfast. snack. eat lunch. snack etc. But I force it and it doesn't sit right with me. So being a later eater I think that JUDDD should be a good way of life for me.

I thought it was appropriate, since it's the part in GWTW where Scarlett says "As God as my witness, I'll never be hungry again!" LOL

So far, I am adusting well. Surprisingly, UDs are harder for me than DDs. I'm not used to eating so much!!! LOL Feeling good, even on DDs when I have hard workouts (so far).

Today is a DD for me, and I didn't eat anything until around 3:30pm. As long as I have my morning coffee, and LOTS of flavored water, I'm good. The flavor in the water really helps me. I'm sure we'll discover what works best - it might matter what type of food we eat first. But I haven't had trouble so far - except being COLD on DDs!

Exactly...breakfast...uuugh...i've always been that way. Plus I hate being told when to eat. I never ate lunch at school...the food was gross, and i just kept the lunch money ;~)

wow Scarlett, the up days are harder. just to fit in all the food. I have a sneaking feeling that will be me also.

glad you are surviving. that is good to hear cause it gives me hope a newbie is adjusting

I ate at 11:30 today cause my food timing is off right now. Next down day at least 2 pm for the first bite of the day.

just finished dinner and stuffed so I think I am ok for the day.

but ya know this is going to be WAY CHEAPER at the grocery store than atkins I know that for a fact. why spend an arm and a leg to lose weight when I can eat less and lose it.

Trigger!! Just a FYI, UDs will get easier (or harder) after about a month of JUDDDing. Your body will "figure out" that you're not eating eod and demand food on UDs!! Enjoy "trying" to fit in your calories for now.

Oh yeah...I already made the comment that i need to do a "grocery fast", I have way more meat in the freezers and just plain 'stuff' in the cupboards than I can possibly eat. And the garden will be coming along soon...

Trigger. I am another one who rarely touches food before 6pm. I never know if it's UD or DD till dinner time rolls around and I get to eat if it's an UD or wait for my bedtime snack if it's a DD!

yea I have about 20 packs of bacon in the freezer along with alot of meats.

well, slow but sure I will get thru it. at least I don't have to stock tons more right now




Carly---you don't eat til about 6pm. interesting. I don't think I can go that long. But I realize I have to eat later. I am wanting food now.
my 500 cal. day became 700. I ate a stupid atkins bar! but hey, 700 I figure is a good start. now to get better at this.

I try to keep room for most of my calories at night on DD's, but don't always. I could never eat all of my calories only at night on UDs. Well, I could but I can't imagine the heartburn and trouble sleeping that I would have after digesting 1800 calories.

I went grocery shopping for some light soups and some frozen meals to have on hand if emergency for down days.


but shopping my whole usual order was screwed up. my atkins 'meat and good fats' are a no no kinda now so my shopping sure has to change. wow.



I am supposed to eat about 1900 cals. today. OMG I had 600 so far today and am stuffed to the gills. 1300 more yikes I will have to work up to this a bit lol

I still eat low-carb primal(so, plenty of meat and good fats) but I am definitely saving money with JUDDD. Both my Honey and I are doing it, not our two teenagers. With two of us only eating part-time, that's like only buying for 3, instead of 4. I am slowly learning to cook less, because the left-overs will not automatically get eaten up the next day for lunch and snacks. And buy less, because things will go bad before we can get to them.

I tend to go with the, " I can't worry about that right now. I'll worry about it tomorrow." Love that coping mechanism there. lol

Be sure you are eating full-fat, full calorie everything. Don't eat fat-free, or lite anything on UDs, until you get the hang of it and actually *need* to eat light, so you can have that HUGE CHUNK OF CAKE AND ICE CREAM. Wait, no that was me. That was me.

Seriously, if you eat real butter, real cream in coffee, eggs, meats, etc. the calories will add up fast.

OK---my mind kinda did switch to low fat items. so I should be eating atkins type in general but keeping it on this JUDDD schedule? ok that helps.



and I love the fact we eat less on one day to save some bucks

Trigger! Lots of people work down to a lower calorie DD ... you're doing great! DDs will get easier and eating your UD calories will get easier too. Maybe too much so.

ok--low fat to keep the down day very low

eat normal fats on UD to be satisified. works good for me



Calichris I noticed that. Right now I have control over the situation but what worries me is an UP AND AWAY day. I am trying to not have that one happen LOL
