No, they are not the same. Grape seed extracts contain vitamin E, flavonoids, linoleic acid and a few other minor compounds. While beneficial, the way that GSE is made is as a by-product when the polyphenols are extracted for commercial and research properties. Polyphenol = resveratrol.
Depending on the GSE, there is likely little to no resveratrol in it because they can make way more money extracting it and selling it separately.
Much like glycerin is a natural by-product of soap making but is much too valuable to be left in soap. So it is extracted commercially and sold to industry, unless you're paying a premium for soap with glycerin added back in.
The higher quality GSEs might leave the polyphenols in but I'm guessing they will cost way more.
There are some purported health benefits to GSEs, even without the polyphenols.

True on the glycerin so buy handcrafted soap since us small soap makers can't remove the glycerin since it is an involved process. Shameless plug for handcrafted soap. I could not resist. Oh and goat milk soap is even better.

Lol, Adi, I used to make soap all the time (which is why I know that), almost always goats milk soap. I haven't in a while because I'm looking for a source of goats milk now that we've moved. I don't have goaties anymore

Yennie!

Thanks for all the info!

Last year I noticed 3 tiny red spots on my nose and went to the doctor - seems like they did not feel it was a concern! Just getting older!!! Then I checked on line about the red spots and read it was helpful in getting rid of the spots I order 2 bottles and sure enough before I used all the pills the red spots were all but gone, one completely gone. Now the past month they are coming back!!

Just eat the seeds when you eat grapes! Also, drink wine.
