Oh I could use some help!! I am on a business trip and I think I am going to have to just give up a DD today. I have a working lunch and a dinner out so no matter how hard I try, it will be very difficult to keep it a DD. I think perhaps I will try for a MD?

B: peanut butter on spoon to be able to scoop up my chia seeds. black coffee.
L: salad?
D: salad???? argh!!

Hi All,
I'm back from last week's trip to CA.

yesterday, we had to put my baby girl Aleeya (13yr old greyhound) to sleep. Turns out her limp was being caused by a very fast growing bone tumor.

I ate anything and everything I saw that had carbs, and of course, it didn't make me feel an iota better.

Today is a DD, so I"ll respect that.

B: x
L: not sure, maybe 1 large egg.
D: I was going to try what CaliChris sometimes does and have breakfast for dinner. Eggs, and maybe yogurt.

450ish.

Is there anyway you could grab something just before dinner? Or before lunch? Or just skip eating while with those you are meeting with? I am probably the worst person to ask as I never do well while traveling.

I am trying a fat-fast style Down D: keeping my macros to mostly fats. So...
liverwurst
mascarpone
cream and diet jello
butter

I cut one piece of liverwurst into 16 small pieces, and am spreading them out over a half hour's of nibbling.

Dear Soren, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It is heartbreaking. .greyhounds are so especially sweet too. I raised goldens, and lost them each as they neared the 12 or 13yr age. , keep all of those pictures and videos, they mean so much as time goes on.:hugs:

Soren--I am truuuuly sorry for your loss. I am not an eloquent gal, but I do know how sad you must feel, and you are in my thoughts. Take care....I wish there was something I could do...

phoenix17 04-23-2013 04:40 PM

Ugh Soren I'm so sorry. I hope you can find some solace in that you spared her additional pain and suffering.

phoenix17 04-23-2013 04:49 PM

I could have tried a MD but I would have been guessing at calories. Instead I decided to just take today as UD and switch the rotation. I was advised to try to get on the road earlier than I expected to try to get to the airport so I am using this as a reason to gracefully decline lunch tomorrow. (I will bring an apple and tell them I'll get something on the road).

I am amazed that I actually miss my DD when I end up doing two UD in a row. Wow.

sorenkkg 04-23-2013 05:55 PM

Thank you all. I'm not feeling eloquent either. Today, she wasn't here. I know this will ease, and that we have her brother (littermate) Haka, but that's hard for us too, if you see what I mean.

Did ok on my dd today- not my lowest, but not remotely high or anything- maybe 500 or 550. Did Chris's breakfast idea.

Can't say tomorrow will be any kind of good UD, but I'll give it a go.

Thanks again everyone, your support means so much to me :)
S.

Soren-

Here's a big hug for you and Haka :)
