This recipe was in our local paper today. I can't believe it...I use Skippy Natural peanut butter and it alone has 190 calories per 2 tablespoons!!! :stars:

I wonder how it would be with PB2 and chocolate Almond Breeze.
That would cut a lot of calories...

That's closer to 500 calories, and that was a generous guesstimate. Probably someone who knows better, but wants skinny people to try it and get fat. :D

ETA: I did the math and assuming the banana is no bigger than medium, and that the peanut butter is no more than 180 calories (for 2 T, not likely), it's 502 calories!!!!

Most of those recipes make 2-4 servings. You know, the old trick to make is seem better than it is ;)

I was thinking it would be at least 500...thanks for doing the math!

Dottie...you are right. I looked up the recipe on the website that it came from and it makes three servings (at 201 servings each)! However, the local newspaper did not give that info. There were two other smoothie recipes and one of them said it made two servings. There would be a lot of people who would think this was a low calorie recipe when this info (no. of servings) wasn't provided!

Beautiful new avatar, Shirl.

My online calculator (which sets its default sugar grams suggestion at 30 per day) says each 1/3 of the recipe would have 20 grams of sugar, so... ... yea... ... that's a deeeeessert. Definitely a recipe that needed more explanation. :confused:

My main concern with it is that people read something like this and think it's healthy. Before I started watching calories and carbs, I would have believed it was. :stars:

(The little guy in my avatar is my grandson...just made a plan to fly out and see him...can't wait! :love:)

I make a protein shake at least 3x a week with PB2 and Unsweetened Almond Breeze.

1 Scoop Vanilla MRM Egg White Protein Powder
1.5 Cups Unsweetened Almond Breeze
2 Tbsp. Plain Greek Yogurt
2 Tbsp. PB2

Totals = 220 calories, 31g protein, 10g carbs, 4g fiber, 6g net carbs, 9g fat

It makes a big protein shake and I usually sub it for a meal. I think its delicious and would happily drink it for a dessert. I dont think I could handle the recipe up above as listed without feeling some major guilt. Liquid Banana Split.
