Aaaaah, tough one today. It's 6pm here in Germany and I'm really struggling.
Only 100 cals left.

I really need to stay away from food as long as possible on DDs, because eating makes me hungry. That's the problem today. Had one boiled egg at lunch and since then, I'm only thinking about food. And because of this, I had one bite here and one bite there...

So, for the rest of the evening, there's tea... and more tea... and perhaps a Gluc pudding later.

Well, lesson learned. No food until dinner or at least until late afternoon on DDs. My Monday-DD will be better!

Hang in there Monkeypenny.

I am kind of cheating today. I bought an energy drink that has 26g of sugar in it (ACK!) and 33g carbs - but is only 200 calories. I can drink this and have energy to get stuff done and eat some cabbage and chicken at bedtime. I hope this works.

Good Monday morning everyone! Did everyone have an up day yesterday? Hard to go through Easter without eating the amazing goods.

Monkeypenny (great name) I have found personally, just a couple of 100 calories shakes during the day plus a big salad with a little chicken is my best DD strategy. Having protein shakes for my meal keeps me from having to think about food at all, and then my dinner is preplanned so I just go with it. I've also had good success with a boiled egg for breakfast and lunch...but I think the shakes last longer for me.

I've been away from Juddd for almost two weeks, too much going on and having the grand grils here everyday for two weeks made it almost impossible to fast. Back today with a vengeance!!

I've adopted the one meal method for my DD's. It mak
es it a non-issue for me. Instead of wondering/ thinking about food, the thought gets shelved because I already know I'm not eating during the day.

Of course my stomach is protesting quite a bit today after two UDs, but it's just gonna have to growl.

My stomach is not growling, but it's aching right now. I WILL make it through this first DD in a while. I WILL!!!

I know what you mean about having grand kids every day -- and every night too. Here it's constant food preparation and they all like different things.

On top of that I had to do Easter baskets for Sunday morning.

So, I'm trying to keep today's DD at a 5 and ignore my inner hungry monster.

Hope we all make it through the DD with flying colors!

My first really hungry down day. I drank six glasses to stave it off. But I still had to have my snack earlier than usual. Up till now I've been able to do 16:8 on fast days, but I started eating after 10 hours today. My only concern is making sure I don't run out of calories which means I have to stick to my planned foods.

I will admit to eating some skin off a chicken thigh. No one claimed it, just a piece. I've logged it as 100 calories - unsure of what true count would be.

Making my very favorite lentil dish right now. Mad craving.

I believe the 1 cup dry lentils with ingediants will make 3-4 cups of the lentil dish. I can eat 2 cups of it for about 425 calories.
It has reduced fat coconut milk, 1 6 oz tomato puree in and copious amounts of curry.
I am hungry, but today is do-a-ble.

Iced tea with splenda for rest of the day.
3 days to my 6 week weigh in!

Not feeling it today. And husband made my coffee for me with half and half. Very nice of him but was planning on almond milk. Feeling very "quitty". I will do it. I don't think I have ever been under 500. But close. This second cup of coffee should shake off these grumpies.

I'm experimenting with something because I have had a UUAD three times in one month. Every one was a night binge on an up day. The experiment is every day is a down day during the day and then up day dinners can be whatever I need them to be.

I got used to skipping dinner when I was on low carb and I thought skipping dinner was a good idea, but lately, on the days when I've succeeded, I don't see any extra benefit on the scale.

Added to that, I find I can rarely go all day without eating without feeling distractedly uncomfortable (meaning I can't concentrate on work). Sometimes on the weekends, I get happily busy and it works out, but not on work days.

Thus, I'm trying eating as low calorie as I can during the day and planning a filling dinner every night. It could be I don't get enough calories, or it could be I don't lose weight. Whatever. I love to tweak; it keeps me interested.

Shirataki noodles are my best friend on day like that! I'm amazed at how filling they are.

What do you do with them Emma? I've tried the dry-frying them, and it definitely made them palatable, especially drowned in soy sauce.

deedee, I use the House brand (tofu), not the miracle noodle (konjac), as there is a big difference in taste/texture to me. I use the angel hair, because that is what is in my supermarket!

I have dry fried the miracle rice, which helped it alot, but I don't think the tofu noodles need it. I usually rinse well and separate them under hot water, then throw them in a bowl of chicken broth with--if calories permit--bits of rotisserie chicken and a quarter to half cup of cream of chicken & mushroom soup and/or a cup or two of a slaw mix (I found one with kale in it). I add garlic and herb mix that I get at TJ Maxx. (TJ Maxx). Heat together to get the best flavor, kind of like a pho. Just a half pkg of noodles makes a big bowl of soup. I save a little for my dog--he sits in front of me and drools.

I have added the noodles to stir fry and also to spaghetti sauce. The smell totally disappears as soon as the noodles hit whatever you are putting them in. I have not tried the laughing cow cheese as a sauce, but I'd bet is good, too.

It's early and I'm already hungry, but prepared today with soup (to be eaten in 2 installments) and three snacks to choose from. One is the 100-calorie bag of popcorn--really happy about that one.

It's a good day for a down day because my coworker who brings and heats and eats an aromatic lunch at her desk EVERY DAY is not here today. So I don't have to smell all the delicious smells emanating over my cubby wall! I do, however, have to listen to my neighbor on the other side rummaging in her various bags of crackers and chips. I'm such a Pavlov's dog when I hear that sound!!

LOL, Emma! Me too! I hate hearing my co-worker, who sits behind me, crunching on snacks when I'm trying not to eat.

You make the tofu noodles sound great. I still haven't ever bought any. I think I'm afraid I would be disgusted with the smell... I have reduced calorie noodles that I use rarely for about 100 calories a serving.

Feeling kind of hungry right now at nearly noon. It's a good kind of hungry feeling though. When I first felt it a few minutes ago I started to stress out, but on further reflection, I just feel empty and just the hint of some growls. I'm waiting for my coffee/hwc to cool a bit, and then I'll be enjoying that treat! This DD is going to rock!

I think I might make it. Not an ideal day, but I would say at about 40%. I nibbled above but not on bad stuff. Got on scale today, trying not to weigh too often. It said 173 during middle of day, so cross your fingers for being in the 160s tomorrow mornjng.ight have to weigh naked, which will be weird since my scale is in the kitchen.

My scale's in my kitchen too. Luckily I get up before anyone else. I go use the restroom, get nekkid, put on my robe, walk to the kitchen, disrobe and weigh, re-robe, then go shower. More info than you ever wanted, right?

Only the food in my BELLY!!

My bathroom is tiny and I kept kicking the scale, so I moved it to the kitchen. Plus, we had a flood a while back in the bathroom and it ruined my last scale. I'm weird, I know . . .

170.6. Down.2 pounds this week. If I am honest with myself I know why cough (beer!) cough. I need to plan my down days better. I am SaHM so am in kitchen almost all day. I was working a ton for the first two weeks of April, which helped a lot to keep food numbers down. Little disappointed in myself. But onward. Soooooo impatient.

Today's DD was smoother than the last two, so I am grateful.
I didn't have my broth/CO until just after 3pm, and I'm holding up well. I still have a lot of water left to drink for the day, so that will keep me 'busy'.
My appreciation for recognizing true hunger and satiety is increasing, so that is yet the most important element to be grateful for!
My thanks to all of you who have posted their JUDDD experiences on these boards. As reference, they are priceless. Even some of the smallest things you've said, perhaps that you don't even realize, are extremely helpful from someone looking in for the first time.

I certainly hope everyone is having a great day!

MsKitty, what a wonderful comment to make, and I agree. Sometimes it's the smallest, seemingly throw-away comment that really resonates with someone else. So glad you're with us!

Rough one today.
White knuckles.
I was unable to stay under 400 plus calories.
I hate that.
I am so close to a new decade; I need to buckle down.
