decided to try

so after an "off" day low carbing I decided to try Juddd, after a low carb breakfast!
So I had approximately 10 calories for rest of day.
I made cabbage soup in tomato broth hoping that would work... looks like I'm a little under 700, which is fine. I am hungry though, but not worried about it, going to drink some water before bedtime. Next DD I will be ready.
I probably made this harder on myself than I meant to. But am looking forward to tomorrow.
Do most of you low carb on UD's too? I don't plan on going nuts or anything with junk food, just curious. I know before I went off plan Monday, my hunger was pretty low.
Hope everyone has good night.

Some of us follow a LC/LCHF or low carb, moderate protein, high fat WOE - others, eat their standard diet. Others left Atkins to move to JUDDD and stopped LC but adopted a modified form later, within the JUDDD schedule.

JUDDD is just a schedule. Nancy has a sig line that approximately says:
Quote:
JUDDD just cares about calories. JUDDD doesn't care what you eat. Your body probably does.
So, eat the foods that suit you, satisfy you, and don't have any unhelpful metabolic impacts and

Mornin' Ladies! Hi Shari, Cici, Kristin and SLowSure, Green!!

SlowSure good post!

Erin I LC on DD's. I seem to get less hungry if I spend the majority of my calories on protein. My up day's are not really structured, I try to eat only when hungry but I eat what I want. I generally avoid junk food, but once in a while it happens.

Great DD yesterday 1 LC Shake at breakfast, salad w/ chicken for dinner. Well Under 450 for the day. Woke up feeling svelte (but I'm not). The feeling is good, though.

I have not had a successful DD this week but have not given up. Since I'm still healing from surgery and have a cold, it may just be too soon to restrict calories significantly. Will keep rotating and stay away from the junk.

Hang in there, cici! I'm feeling a bit pitiful this morning (also getting over a cold), but not giving up, either!

I think doing the MD thing is not a good idea for me. I love my rotations and have been feeling great on them. When I MD, I tend to binge the next day (UD). Until I can figure that out, I'm just sticking to my routine no matter what my social calendar is. By tomorrow, I'll have 7 days in a row of eating out dinner and some days also lunch. It's stressful, especially at potlucks, since I never know what will be there.

erinisme! Hope you love JUDDD!

Love the feeling-svelte, Blonde!

Cici, you're doing fine, just doing the best you can each day. You'll get to those easy DDs when you're ready.

EmmaLiza, I'm with you. MDs don't do anything good for me either. I've given up even trying to do them.

I'm feeling pretty good so far on this DD. Black coffee now, and hopefully just iced tea and diet Dr. Pepper through the day. Not sure what dinner will be. Scrambled eggs or salmon patties, maybe.

A 4 so far. Not particularly hungry, but TOM-related headache and other aches. Men are so lucky they never have to deal with this! It's warm here finally and I had an iced coffee for breakfast and all of a sudden could not stop thinking about the Pioneer Woman's recipe for iced coffee that involves condensed sweetened milk. Brain should not be thinking such thoughts on a DD!

first up day. just did some calculations and have about 1000 calories left. I ate an omelet for breakfst and some noodles and raw veggies for lunch. YUM!!!!
I am working at Mall this month, so I was starving and couldn't really snack on spaghetti while working and I got a pretzel. lord knows how much that was. It's local chain so I couldn't find nutrition on it. I am Sooooo hungry today! worse than yesterday.
Maybe I'll put pretzel around 200 and be done with it. now trying to think what I'm going to have before I run out to second job.

Hi all,

I have had a really good DD today, my lowest ever - just coffee with milk a few times. I intended to have a small dinner but I was late home and then had a guest and now it is late (11pm here) and I don't feel hungry so I think I will leave it!

Hope DD going well for everyone

For people who don't always see the results they expect immediately after a DD, there are many reasons for this, including what you ate and when on your previous 2 days (which is why some of these things seem out of sync).

As well as age, there are marked gender differences in large intestine/colon transit time (yes, that means what you think it does). Women tend to have a lengthier large intestine/colon transit time then men. Average transit time for chaps: 33 hours. Average transit time for women: 47 hours. (From eating to elimination averages out at 53hrs.)

Yes, if somebody already has issues with constipation, this will just add to the unpredictability.
Quote:
Healthy women had longer Gastrointestinal transit time [GITT] than men (median 2.4 and 1.9 days, respectively) measured as mean 50% excretion time for the ingested doses of markers. For comparisons with patients percentiles for transit were calculated. In constipated patients the 7-day method demonstrated prolonged GITT as well as transit dysfunction in separate colonic segments. [Gastrointestinal and colonic segmental transit time]
Quote:
Colonic transit was significantly faster in men,and post lag gastric emptying was also more rapid. [Variability of gastrointestinal transit in healthy women and men]

Second DD, definitely went over last night. Pretty hungry right now. I can make it to lunch. Already have had a ton of water. I'll be fine though. So hoping last night didn't ruin anything. How important is calorie calculator. It has me at 370 or so, but I'm going to stick to 500, til I figure this out. Black beans for lunch.

LOL, erin. Did it make you want to eat more, or just too many calories for so little food?

My DD is still going well...I'm at 140 calories, including coffee at breakfast and an iced coffee at lunch. My stomach is growling mightily, but I know it isn't an emergency. Plan on maple dijon chicken thighs for dinner, with maybe Brussel sprouts and rice.

I am having a fabulous DD. Better than I expected earlier in the day.

My work folks have been planning a happy hour outing for a week or so. It was supposed to be tomorrow- an up day. I get to work this morning and it had been moved to tonight.

So I am working away about 11:00 and absentmindedly eat a little bowl of pecans I had brought for a snack yesterday but didn't eat. I put it in my calorie counter to assess the damage and keep myself honest- 208 calories before lunch.

Lunchtime came and I had zero hunger or desire to eat my salad. I finally ate my "lunch" at 4:00. At 5:00 I headed for happy hour.

Several others had beat me to happy hour and there were already plates of appetizers and pitchers of what I know from previous experience are yummy margaritas sitting around. I had a diet coke and *1* taquito. I sat next to a pitcher of margaritas for 2 hours and didn't touch it.

I'm home now and planning an early bedtime.

Best DD ever.

Well done

I had a very good Szechuan meal last night and the saltiness is catching up with me today. I need a good DD to let my poor tummy recover as altho' I didn't eat a lot, it's more than I typically eat in a meal.

I am having a good DD so far (1pm here), I am hungry but going to hold out until at least mid afternoon, and hopefully dinner before eating. It gets harder for me once I start! I hit a post UD low this morning so feeling motivated.

Good luck to everyone starting DDs

Good for you! I had one small margarita last night (UD) and ended up getting ice cream on the way home. I never do that!! I think tequila un-inhibits my appetite.
