Well done! The DH is in charge of poaching eggs. If I'm left to it, I make a dog's dinner of it.

Doing ok. Mentally stressed out about turning down cakes later today. I wish it wasn't a social stigma to turn down sweets. We know enough that sugar is evil, why do people pressure others into eating it? I may have an easy time of "feigning" ill - got cramps like the devil just now (sorry for TMI). Feeling drained, which doesn't bode well - I hope I get a surge of energy like some people do when they're fasting. Fingers crossed.

Had my 10 cal sugar-free energy drink. Will drink water/ diet coke. Hoping to have nothing until I get home. Then keep it as low as possible.

I have not had a good dd since the cruise. I can't get my grove back. I am so frustrated. I am too embarrassed to come and post. I am trying for a low day today. I was doing well and liked the weight I was at. But now I am up 4-5 pounds and can't get them back off. I need to come here more and be accountable. Wish me luck today.

I find that it's easier if I put off eating until right before bed. Takes the anxiety out of things. You can turn this around!

I'm at a 3.5-4. It's mental. I'm seeing the scale go up and not one single NSV. Once again, I'm thinking as much as I want JUDDD to work for me, it ain't going to. Not sure if anything is. I sound like a flipping broken around record, don't I??? Arg!!!!

It's a saying in Wilderness Medicine that shame harms more people than exposure does (and that's saying something). Some people go off track more when they lose touch with people who understand what they're doing and support them. I think posters here are authentic about their difficulties as they encounter them and that can reduce the feeling of isolation/shame.

Please don't ever be shamed by a combination of life circumstances and your endocrine system's response to what's happening. Just keep posting and trust the process.

Nilla, I have an NSV for you!
You are here! You encourage me and the rest of the JBs.
You are an important part of this group.
You don't sound like a broken record to me (flipping or otherwise LOL). You sound frustrated. Very understandable.
I wish you could run over to have coffee and convo w/ me!! It would be so good for both of us!
May all good things come around to you soon!
Blessings,

Uploading all good thoughts and wishes for a returning groove!
Please don't stay away.
I have had a big upset/change in my life and my first instinct was to withdraw. I am so glad I didn't.
Just post something like: "I am here." to keep in touch. There is nothing embarrassing with regard to up or down weight. It just is what it is. What you post may be encouraging or helpful to another.
blessings,
P

Don't ever be ashamed Brenda! Pat is so right, and I'm so glad she didn't withdraw. We all have ups and downs and struggles, and our good friends here do so much to prop us up. I have been overwhelmed by the love and support I've gotten during my recent plateau/gain/struggles/break from everyone. I almost didn't post about it, but thought I might be able to help even one person by sharing it all. It's been a godsend. You guys have!

Thank you, Pat. So many times, I just want to quit posting at all, especially after going to "hang out" on other threads trying different things. Feel like I should lay low and try to figure things out. I may try NK. I just can't bear seeing the scale keep going up.

Nilla. I sure do understand and empathize. Have you ever had a consultation with your doctor or a nutritionist to see what might work for you? I know why I'm not always on a downward trend, and it is because I go over my calories + I don't lose quickly. However, sometimes I do everything right and still can't lose, so I do understand your frustration.

Speaking of which, I have been doing rather well lately and am hopeful. I have a meal already for later that I picked up and that is within my calories for today's DD... OTOH, my birthday is coming up next week and will be on a DD. I hate to derail my momentum, but I also will not want to do a DD on that day. Seems like something always comes up, or I just lose my desire to stick to rotations religiously and end up staying the same. (sigh)

Well, I have rolling thunder in my tummy right now. So, I can only give this DD a 1- at the moment.

After 3 UDs in a row of restaurant food that was absolutely yummy every day, I guess I deserve this! I was truly looking forward to this DD so I'm going to have to keep psyching myself out to make it a good one.

I'm a 5+ today. I've had black coffee and diet soda so far. Decided to save my yogurt til the afternoon if I need it. Earlier I had that tremendous wave of calm come over me. Love DDs!

I sprayed a bowl with cooking spray and cracked an egg into it, then lowered it into the simmering water...dropping from high doesn't work, or so I've read. You could also try (something I read about) where you spray some cling wrap and crack the egg into it, then just twist the top and cook the egg inside the wrap in the boiling water. Supposedly slides right out afterward.

Cindy: Wow. I'm relating to your post so much right now. DH was sympathizing with me just this morning. He said he knows how well I do when I'm home with my routines and my rotations. And how I get messed up and off kilter when we travel and we have to attend social functions and go out to awesome restaurants where I am lured off plan.

I really, really, really wanted to somehow stick to my rotations this week while we were out of town. Monday, I managed to do a 417 calorie DD. But then I had 3 UDs in a row. I just gave up and gave in. So, it's back to the drawing board.

I'm just going to remember right now how forgiving JUDDD always is to me and plan on having a good week next week until we leave again for two weeks of travel. This is life.

I have silicon poaching cups made to go in the boiling water. I'm too impatient to wait for water to boile, so I also got a microwave egg poacher. Works like a charm.

It'll be okay, yam-yam! I did this a couple of weeks ago and it came off pretty fast and then some. Good practice for maintenance--maybe play with some approaches while you are traveling.

Another 5...
Busy day; no real hunger at all. I took a break from a boring task at 3pm, using the excuse that I needed to finally eat my Greek yogurt. But really, I could have gone even longer without it. Then I think I'd be too hungry and eat too much for dinner though, so it all works out for the best!

OK day - lots of blood draws and imaging at the hospital this evening to investigate the musculo-skeletal and sarcopenia conundrums so I'm a tad tired. Hunger is OK tho' I'm a little peckish (tension, I think, rather than actual hunger).

Ready for my bed. Kayaking tomorrow.

I've been looking for the zero calorie butter spray. Where is it located in the store?

Mine's with the regular butter. I use "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray, in a yellow bottle with a blue top. Be careful though. It's less than 5 calories per serving (5 sprays I think), so they can claim zero calories. 5 sprays is nothing. I easily use 10-15 sprays on a small serving of vegetables. The calories are quite low, but can add up. (I think I read somewhere that the bottle has over 200 calories, but I can't remember where/when I read that.)
