So far I'm at a 5. Probably because I was really looking forward to this DD. After the scale rewarded me so richly after the last DD, I'm determined to repeat exactly what I did and see if I get another reward. Probably won't, but ya gotta try, right?

I hope so.

Normally, I have no problem dealing with hunger. It will pass after a few minutes and stay away several hours before coming back. However, this morning, it was two hours straight. I finally caved and ate my meal for the day. It was hard to concentrate on work (or posting here ).

I wonder if your present living circumstances are working against you being able to do a DD, as prescribed, for now? Particularly if you feel that you're edging into binge eating (tho' I'm never entirely sure what people mean by that as some people use 'binge' to characterise eating more than they'd intended and others use it to describe very large volume intakes).

I wonder if it's time to suggest that you might try higher kcal DD (say 800-900kcals) and then work down from that when you feel ready and circumstances permit? Even so, I don't know if that would be sufficient intake to outweigh any feeling of deprivation or desire to binge.
The issue with our living situation is there are many, many prepackaged junk foods around. It makes it very difficult to avoid.

When I say binge, I mean eating 3000+ calories. I am a 5' 4'' 20yo female so I need nowhere near that amount. I eat to the point of feeling ill. I have GERD, so many foods trigger my reflux, but I feel helpless to stop many times. I am getting better about realizing my bingeing triggers, though.

I think my problem is waiting to long to eat. I have done some variation of IF (18:6, 16:8, etc.) for a few months now. I don't get physically hungry. I get headache-y and grumpy. The difference between a DD and IF is, when I am just IF'ing, I can eat my whole days worth of calories in that short time frame when I get into the pissy mood. With JUDD, I don't have as many calories as I am used to eating (2000+).

Tomorrow, once again, I will attempt a DD. It looks like it will be a snow day here, so I won't have any classes. Instead of waiting until I feel a headache coming on, I will have some cottage cheese at noon. I will have two hardboiled eggs for dinner, and some sunflower seeds throughout the day. As well as upping my water consumption and having some pumpkin spice tea.

I have no problem with upping my DDs to 800 or 900 calories. I just can't even stay that low when I binge.

I am looking at this as a long process of trial and error. Waiting until I feel physically hungry on a DD is a no-go, because I won't and I'll just binge when I get pissy.

Also, I am going to go hardboil the eggs now, so I have no excuse not to eat them. I wouldn't want them to go to waste, and I can't say I am too lazy to boil them since they will be there

I appreciate the support I am getting here. I feel like I should be condemned for my continued failures, but there has been no hint of that

No condemnation here, Sweetie! Just lots of support and cyber hugs.

The important thing is that you keep trying. And now that you are planning (boiling eggs) and experimenting to see what triggers binging, you are already on the road to success. Baby steps, Hon!

WOE: Lost 35 on WW/-6 on JUDDD...so far
Start Date: 1/18/2014-JUDDD
I'm sleepy. May head to bed earlyish 11pm. (I'm a night owl and sometimes still on LA time I think, so my normal bedtime is like 3am. sometimes 4am!) Skyped last night with my BBFF from LA til 2am and woke up today at 7am so that's why I'm sleepy. Had a rehearsal and an audition, did a little window shopping and then the trains were all kinds of crazy so I ended up walking around the city a bit to get to a totally different way back to Brooklyn...LONG STORY SHORT (TOO LATE) I was gone most all of the day running around. Ate that Fiber one bar in the a.m with some coffee and then nothing all day cuz I was out and about. There were times I got so hungry I almost stopped off for a $1.oo slice of pizza (my fav) or the time I was cold, hungry and tired in Chinatown at 6:30pm and wanted some dumplings but I just said,NO, let me get home and eat my DD meal. I ate a bigger dinner (2 bean tostadas, a 1/2 c pork stew) at 8:30pm and came in right under 500 for the day. I'm thinking I like these on the run days where I have the bulk of my calories at night. This may be something that works for me. I'm full right now and if I stay up til 11pm or midnight by the time I get hungry again I'll be passed out. DD for me today was an 8! Probably the best one I've had so far in 3.5 weeks!

Elisheva....big to you. Yam gives great advice. Hang in there.

BB....I am so enjoying the tostada idea. Have had several already and plan on many more. They really hit the spot, are filling, and very satisfying!

Made me smile when I read you had these today.

I ended up using Mission brand ready to eat crispy tostada flat tortillas,(50 cal. each), Taco Bell Fat Free refried beans (already seasoned and 1/4 c. 50 cal.), Tostito brand salsa con queso (1-Tbsp. 20 cal.), a sprinkle of Rotel tomatoes and shredded lettuce on top for another 15 cals. Just 135 cals.

I can easily have 2 of these or even three and still have a great DD!

I looooove these! Must buy more ingred. tomorrow!!!

YAY!!! Glad you are enjoying em! I just don't get sick of them! They are yummy and filling! I always make sure I have ingredients to make them. Initially in my plans today I was gonna take snacky type things in my purse cuz I knew I would be running around, string cheese, hard boiled egg, yogurt, but just for those 3 things it would be 260 and I thought NO WAY THAT'S TWO TOSTADAS!

5 so far. I brought a Quest bar to work for breakfast, but didn't get hungry until closer to lunch, so I skipped it. I had my chili for lunch, then got hungry a few hours later. Guess what? I had my Quest bar. I'm thinking zoodles for dinner. Should end the day around 400 calories, without any pain.

I'm just finishing up my third day of JUDDD. Started with a DD, had an UD and today was another DD. It's going very well, although yesterday (UD) felt odd; I've been eating very low carb for over a year now and it's just not working for me. So for my UD's I've decided to add in some carbs and it makes me feel guilty! Last night for dinner we had an awesome White Chicken Chili along with cornbread; oh, my goodness, I enjoyed it SO much! I counted all the calories so I know I did fine that way, but it sure felt naughty.
Today I ate hard-boiled eggs and gluccomannan pudding and really wasn't very hungry. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Frosty, a very appropriate song for getting through a DD, although I must admit......I have always hated that song!

JulieC, I felt the guilt when I added carbs in too. It sure does become a mindset. Actually, I felt guilty just eating as much as I did on UDs when I first started. Oh, the mind games we play on ourselves! You'll relax about it, as time passes and you see how you lose, even when you eat all those "naughty" things!

Hard... Hungry DD today...
Mike & Ike candy calling my name all day.
Was tempted to eat a sammich for lunch, but the bread would have done me in.
Also didnt resist the white rice with dinner... But kept it to a 1/4 cup and didn't let it spiral me into a binge like the last time I had white rice. Must. Avoid. White. Rice.

Hope the candies keep it to an avoidable whisper the rest of the night...

Today is my third DD and has been a little more difficult. We're in the middle of an honest-to-goodness snowstorm (the first snow we've had this year) and we couldn't go to church, couldn't go to my daughter's viola recital, and couldn't go out for our usual Sunday dinner
Being bored is not conducive to a successful DD! The time is creeping by and I just want to go to bed and wake up to an UD tomorrow

My DD yesterday went quite well. I managed to pull of two social meals and still ate a quest bar!

lunch w/ friend at mexican rest: ordered shrimp tacos and just ate the shrimp with salsa.
dinner w/ BF at a different restaurant: 1 lengua taco and didn't even eat all of the meat because I got kind of grossed out.

My take-away: Mexican spots are easy for DD's (if one can ignore the chip bowl... luckily I'm not crazy about chips and salsa)

It's going okay today. It's cool and really gloomy here today, and it's making me feel freezing cold! But I'll just chalk it up to burning lots of fat! I'm looking forward to my nice hot soup for dinner tonight. Now, just have to get through these next 4 -5 hours.

I can't decide what to eat tonight. I have leftover chicken and some cabbage, which is what I had planned, but also have eggs and bacon...and now the tostada thing BB mentioned sounds good. I might take some chicken and leftover sides from last night for lunch tomorrow, have a couple of boiled eggs with avocado and some bacon for breakfast, and have the tostado tonight! Yep, I decided.

Mine is ok.
I just have to make it till bedtime.
I should come in at 347 calories.
I feel much more 'secure' on DDs vs. on UDs.
I almost traded my soup for a cocktail, but decided to stick w/ soup. I'm glad for my decision. and I love that I now make DECISIONS with regard to calories. Rather a nice new concept for me.
Here's to DDs!!

That's a good thought, Pat. That you're making decisions regarding calories. I like that.

I thought I had too many choices for dinner, but it turns out I'm more limited than I thought lol. I couldn't find any refried beans in the pantry, my cabbage has gone bad, so it looks like eggs and bacon for dinner.
